Staff were all very friendly and helpful with everything and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in the hotel. It was very well positioned as a peaceful short walk into Salisbury in a quiet part of the city. The Cathedral is just a few minutes walk away and we were both made to feel very welcome as visitors. Car parking was another strong plus for this hotel as private and right at the back of the hotel. A ***** service at all times.

It’s a lovely location and a great old building. We stayed in the suite. Which was lovely. Old wooden beans and a great bathroom. The outside area with the river was amazing to sit and chill with a cold beer.

We came to this hotel as I researched and found it to be amazing for my wedding anniversary. So a few days before I arrived I upgraded our room to suite. Which is a lovely room. But I my wife went to look in the bathroom and in the shower was hair all over the shower wall. Which she washed off. As it was a hot day we went to put the fan on and it was very dusty. She we took the fan apart washed it and dried it and put it back together. The other thing is when you spend nearly £250 for the room you would expect a fresh bottled water not a bottle that has been refilled. Overall tho my stay was lovely.

Lovely friendly staff who were very welcoming and efficient. Big room and very large and comfortable bed. Location was great for walking into the Salisbury and also picturesque in the garden by the river. We would happily stay there again if visiting Salisbury. Price didn't include breakfast so we paid for that separately.

An irritating number of what I think were automatically generated emails about upgrading, checking in details and Booking.com suggestions for extras we could book in Salisbury. Given this was for a one night stay this all felt unnecessary. However, the hotel did communicate in person very efficiently in response to a question I had so definitely not faulting their staff in any way!

I would view this as the wrong way round hotel. It's a beautiful building and totally get it's a 'restricted' listed building. The hotel was supa warm and tudor style too fantastic, the heat though is not my style, too much for me, but hot is better than cold. Wrong way round hotel and what I mean from a drivers perspective you arrive at the back of the hotel so is unrecognisable in the dark as you are st the back of the hotel which is why I missed it. The hotel is actually called the Rose and Crown Hotel not Legacy nonsense. I arrived in Harnham road looking for the' Legacy' Rose and Crown Hotel. Using sat nav and with spotted a hotel but was called Rose and Crown not Legacy anything 🙄🤔. I was tired and couldn't work this out. They need to update their old hotel signs if it's Legacy especially if you arrive around the back not the front like the pictures on Booking.com. As a result of not easily identifying the hotel on arrival I continued down Harnham road looking at w everything else and ended up in one way system and arriving 35 minutes later!!! This nonsence if it's called Legacy Crown and Rose put Legacy on the signs!! On reception the gentleman was exteme 'Basil Fawlty'. He was on the phone and did not acknowledge me even with a wink so he new I was there so walked to the bar. I returned and h as still on the phone. Do mentioned still on the phone I see and walked away. On the Thurs tremor I was booked it and he did apologise for my wait so obviously he new I was there and booking in but no eye contact us not good!

Reception delay and poor Hotel signing. Was told can't change signs as listed building. Not sure about that one🤣

Very quaint and tasteful, a beautiful setting on the charming terrace overlooking the river Avon at the rear with swans ,ducks beautiful trees and clear water. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was at the side of the building so it was a bit dark but extremely clean and tidy . In reception it had lots of in formation about Salisbury and a free map of the area which was clear and to be honest looked fun …. great design (I’m hopeless at reading maps ) even I could read it ! We only stayed 1 night but would stay again .

The room was a bit dark that was Minor though

Absolutely fantastic, I booked an over night stay as a birthday surprise for my partner, when we arrived there was bubbly in the room on ice, I also requested, if weather allows, for us to have breakfast outside. They went above and beyond, laid a beautiful table outside with ribbon and electric candles. It was perfect. This made our stay truly memorable and very special. My partner was blown away. To add to this, all the staff were friendly, happy and helpful. They obviously love their job. I highly recommend staying here.

There wasn't anything to dislike. We will stay here again.

We loved the beautiful ambience of the hotel which was a combination of heritage feel and modern interiors. All the staff were excellent and could not do any more to assist us during our stay. The location was ideal as only a quick 5 minute walk into the city. How great it was to sit out in the Hotel Garden Terrace watching the local swans swim past along with the many boats and river punts. Would have no hesitation returning again for another stay.

There was nothing we didn’t like as everything was great for the short stay we were there.

Big room, big bed, big bathroom. Really liked the fact that we had a small patio area overlooking the river and the cathedral. Easy walking distance of the town. Good menu and wine list in the restaurant. Breakfast offered a great choice, but let down by two things. The only eggs available are scrambled, which are bland and way too wet. Also the tea bags. Unidentified assorted bags plonked in a basket. Not very hygienic, and no idea how long they may have been there. There were other teas in sachets available, but they were all decaf so of no interest to me. Staff all lovely, both in the restaurant and on reception.

The exteriors of the rooms are in need of a major repaint. Existing paintwork flaking off and dirty. The interior of the room needs attention. For example, the bath panel is an unattractive wood panel held in place by rusty screws. The restaurant area needs attention. The light fittings in the conservatory bit are full of dead flies and covered in cobwebs for example. The glass in the roof needs a jolly good clean and overhaul. Lastly, this is the first time that I have ever been expected to pay to leave my car in a car park when I am already paying for an overnight stay in the hotel.

The hotel was in a beautiful setting . The room was spacious and had a patio with views of the garden and river . I had booked to stay as my husband was having a small procedure at a local hospital . In the event he was discharged early , so we both stayed there . Unfortunately, we were too late for dinner but the breakfast was great . I think we'll be returning shortly as my husband hasn't completed his hospital visits yet .

The only small complaint I had was that the heating hadn't been turned on in our bedroom before we arrived in the evening - mid November . This was quickly rectified on request and we were very comfortable.

The hotel is in an excellent situation within easy and delightful walking distance to the cathedral, passing historic buildings and many green spaces. The hotel is situated on the River Avon. Parking at the hotel is good. Staff were all welcoming and friendly. We had a ground floor room with many historic features, but with all modern facilities. Dinner was excellent food, enhanced by a window table overlooking the river. Breakfasts were also very good, with all choices as expected from a buffet offering. In all, a great base from which to explore Salisbury.
