We loved the location, beautiful gardens. The room was clean and well presented with toiletries provided plus slippers and dressing gowns. The staff excellent Julie in the morning was amazing, nothing was too much trouble. The bar staff were really friendly and helpful, so sorry but don't know some of the names. We chatted with them most evenings, I believe that Will was his name he was both funny and helpful. Especially with the. milk top up. and his lovely girlfriend. The food in the restaurant was fantastic, breakfast is a buffet plus cooked breakfast ,yummy. We had one evening meal which went down very well. They do allow dogs, which is lovely and we made some new furry friends. We didn't need our room serviced so left the sign on the door, as we can cope with the same towels for a few days. The parking was free, but it gets very busy in the restaurant at the weekend's so sometimes it is difficult to get a parking space.
We did notice that on the weekend's when Julie was off, the young men providing breakfast didn't seem to be as attentive to the buffet. Not topping it up. We were on the first floor and could hear doors slamming and people walking past, probably taking out their dogs. Also it .was noticeable that some of the boys were not working as hard as the ladies in both the restaurant and the bar. The ceiling in the room was very low on the window side, it did have a padded strip to prevent you from hitting your head.

The white Buck is beautiful with a gorgeous interior set in the heart of the New Forest and only a short ride to Burley. We stayed in Griffin room, which was a luxurious junior suite. The room has great facilities, including a Nespresso machine. We enjoyed the breakfast, both mornings of our stay. There is a great selection of food available, including a gluten-free option. We enjoyed the atmosphere of eating on the beautiful terrace on the sunny mornings. The evening meals were just as delicious. Although we didn't have a dog with us, the hotel is extremely dog friendly with a lot of thoughtful touches.
The stay wasn't long enough!

The location of the hotel was perfect and the rooms were decorated very tastefully to make them very relaxing. It was a peaceful setting yet close to all facilities. The menu range for all meals was varied and suited my needs at the time. Breakfast was included and was delicious. Julie, Evie and Sharie were great hosts and friendly to talk to. In particularly, Evie explained how to get to a location I was looking for. If I was staying longer I could envisage taking advantage of their lunch offer and sitting out in the front garden having a long lunch. A perfect place to replenish the soul.

Great place. Every member of staff we connected with was friendly and competent. Very dog friendly place which is always a bonus. Pretty sure we got an upgrade and it was a fabulous and spacious room. Plenty of mirrors and plug sockets which can be a pain when there is a lack of these. May be a bit noisy at the weekend because of its location above the bar and at the front of the hotel. We did not encounter any undue noise staying early in the week. Breakfast snd service was really good, dogs got sausages for breakfast as well. Being situated in the New Forest, there are plenty of loveky walks and it's about a 15 minute drive to the beach. Burley is a beautiful location. Would recommend and would happily visit again.

we had an amazing stay for our first wedding anniversary. This country pub was exactly what we were after, it was in a perfect location, great interior, lots of space but still cosy. our room was a good size, very clean with some very kind touches - beer and biscuits. we were in a dog friendly room, zero issues with anything and there was a lovely little care package for our pooch. We had a fantastic meal, everything we ate was good, great service and a great selection of drinks. we ate elsewhere on our second night but wished we hadn't! breakfast each morning was very good, nice selection of hot food and also cereals etc to help yourself to. everyone we encountered (staff and guests) were friendly and chatty. we can't wait to come back again.
nothing! keep doing what you're doing!

Warm welcome on arrival. Room was larger than expected and beautifully furnished. Loved the thoughtful extras - fresh water each day, slippers and toiletries, plus fresh milk available for making tea and coffee in the room. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent and freshly cooked to order. We ate dinner in the restaurant on three of our four evenings, varied menu and food was excellent. Hotel very dog-friendly and great location with walking routes in the New Forest from the hotel doorstep. All the main visitor attractions were within a 30 minute drive.
Nothing - it was all great

Excellent breakfast freshly cooked. I had the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and it was so good to see that the eggs were freshly made rather than the rubbery kind so often served. Hubbys full English was excellent too. Staff very attentive but with a quiet manner, very relaxed atmosphere, very welcoming from the minute we arrived seeking light refreshments. Nothing was too much for them. Openly offering allergy menu alternatives and a great choice of non alcoholic drinks behind the bar. Not just dog friendly but proactively embracing your 4 legged friend with a dog washing area, treat tins & water everywhere and some goodies in the room for him/her. Lots of walks on your doorstep so no need to keep getting in the car. We would definitely return and recommend.

Food was amazing. Had dinner for the 2 nights we stayed and breakfast for the 2 mornings. Absolutely lovely! Couldn't fault it. Staff very friendly & hard working. Grounds and hotel are stunning. Really well positioned to start walking, so you don't have to drive anywhere to get started! 20mins down a track to Burley village, which is so pretty. Very welcoming to dogs! Would absolutely stay again.
Only a few minor gripes. We weren't given our Pamper Pet package and when we said we hadn't received it the receptionist just shrugged like "oh well". Housekeeping wasn't great for the rooms. Towels weren't changed and floor not swept. We had a dog and it was muddy out, so would have appreciated a quick sweep. I would've done it myself if they'd left me a broom! But honestly, these were very minor inconveniences to the overall experience.

Very good service from some staff who were really friendly, the interior is very cute and cosy too. Really nice breakfast. The rooms are also very nice and clean. Close to walks and the countryside.
We put up the ‘please clean’ sign and it was ignored, I assume they don’t do it after a certain time. One lady on reception wasn’t the most welcoming but all other staff were lovely. We also asked about nearby walks or a leaflet and the staff member didn’t have either. I think it would be good to have some leaflets of nearby walks. Our shower was quite stiff and would drip cold water from the top.

Everything was perfect, it was the quintessential B&B to stay in a very British place surrounded with gorgeous forest. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable and cozy. The bathroom had shampoo, conditioner and soap made by a local company and really nice quality. The food was really good and their breakfast menu had all the options that you would wish for. Their yogurt was fantastic too. Thank you so much for the love and care you put into this establishment. I could see the other guests being very happy to be there and the locals coming in for their morning coffee. Beautiful decorated, worthy of a magazine spread on gorgeous English design. I can’t wait to come back to England and stay here again.
