Very comfortable and cosy and we were lucky to have beautiful weather so we were able to eat outside and enjoy the stunning view, we arrived earlier than check in time and Mary who was house sitting for the hosts was so welcoming along with the two absolutely adorable dogs that came to greet us, we got to play with them and see the little chickens while Mary brought us a coffee and let us relax in the wonderful garden while the hut was being prepared, loved it! Mary also went above and beyond the next day and drove us to the wedding venue as we were having issues getting signal to call our friend who was having trouble finding us, so sweet and made the day stress free! We saw Deer, squirrels, bats and when walking around saw lots of the new forest ponies absolutely beautiful!

The two pet horses were too far away for me to pet haha, obviously they take great care of them and don't let strangers near them which is great for the horses but as an animal lover I wanted to pet them lol, oh and it was a bit troublesome trying to get taxis etc. but all part of the fun of being in the countryside

We loved how cosy it was, it felt like home. The bed was really comfy and was the right temperature in the hut. Outside seating and a fire with wood provided so one night we toasted marshmallows. The first morning we looked out the door and saw Bronty just sitting there and we fell in love with him. Jax also has a soap company with products in the hut for you to try out, we ended up buying two from her as I fell in love with the smell of them! It’s called New Forest Botanics and all home made from her kitchen. We will definitely be returning as we had such a lovely stay and was the perfect Autumn escape 😍🍂🪵 Also lots of places to venture out to such as Burley, Lyndhurst and Lymington and we visited Avon beach. My perfect weekend x

Everything about the Shepard's hut was amazing, all the little gadgets, how peaceful it was, how secluded it was, everything was thought of.. if only it had a hot tub! We absolutely loved our night away, the bed was so comfy, and also getting on and off it provided lots of laughs as it's quite high (if your below 5"6) And the visit from the resident doggy in the morning was a huge bonus! And a rogue chicken ! It's great if you love aeroplane spotting too, they come in so low!

There was a hole in the decking next to the steps and my partner nearly broke his neck in excitement of the surprise night away, falling into the hole... but it did provide a lot of laughs

An absolutely lovely little lodge in a wonderful location. Check in was super easy and there were clear instructions on how to operate everything in the property etc. The room was lovely with one of the comfiest beds, surprisingly spacious and all amenities were there. Even skewers to roast marshmallows on the fire pit! Everything we could have needed was provided and the owners were very quick to respond via text about any queries we had. A beautiful setting with lots to do just a short walk or drive away so very convenient. The outside space of the lodge is really lovely and had a bbq, dinner seating, 2 lounge chairs and a fire pit. All kindling and firewood was provided and we enjoyed our evenings looking out onto the view of fields and the horses. Every detail had been thought of and the finishing touches to the lodge made the stay extra special, such as the really pretty mood lighting, or outdoor blankets for cold evenings. Our stay was incredible and we’ll definitely be coming back and recommending to friends and family

Nothing, it was great.

The property was well designed and finished to a very high standard. The attention to detail was really good. The whole experience was great. One area we thought was outstanding was the outside space, a super large gas fuelled BBQ, a fire pit with logs etc provided, a four seater dining set and two lovely relaxers with small table allowed us to enjoy uninterrupted views of the forest and meadows surrounding us.

Nothing, although the lowering of the bed needed a big pull despite the ingenious mechanism. Having said that we managed fine.

Peace and quiet surroundings. Anything needed just a short drive away,from forest walks to lovely beaches.

The sheperds hut could do with a little step to get on and off the bed,and possibly in hot weather a parasol outside .but none of these things spoilt our stay.

Great location not far from places we wanted to visit

Unfortunately we needed to clean the barbeque before using and then we also realized that only one burner lit. As one side was completely corroded with rust leaving a big hole so gas was not reaching the burner

The hut is incredibly cosy and welcoming. All little touches had been thought of such as a jar of milk in the fridge. The hut is clean and secluded. The owners are welcoming and accommodating. The view is absolutely breathtaking! Morning coffee on the deck was a highlight!

I've just stayed here and it was perfect! The owners were really helpful with all questions that I had. The hut was super cosy. We had a really lovely and relaxing time - it had everything we needed and the bed was really comfy. Would definitely stay again!

I wish I could leave an honest review. However, I felt sick before leaving, and I couldn't go for the whole week, so I missed out on the holiday as a result. However, I am sure that it is a very nice place to stay from the pictures the location looks beautiful and I will say it looked very stunning in the photos.
