Location of hotel and access to various walks and beaches made this hotel worth the stay. Its close enought for a short taxi ride or a 35min walk to Christchurch where you can access various bars, restaurants and shops if needed. Bournemouth is a 20min taxi which is also convenient. Enjoyed the heated pool, jacuzzi and sauna. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was satisfactory. Hotel staff were friendly and informative.
The room was a little small for a hotel of this quality. Some lights in the room did not work and fittings were coming away from the wall so I would say the room needed some tlc. The fact that for the price we paid for 2 nights, the expectation that a cooked breakfast should not be at an additional cost.

Our first stay - and it was fabulous, what a lovely location!! Thank you for the upgrade - room with a little outside verandah ( how did you know how much that makes a difference to us, you must have a crystal ball!!) Was so much appreciated!! Moat staff very friendly and extremely helpful. Lovely outside areas, with beautiful views, very tranquil, an amazing jewel of a place -will definitely be back.
Upon our arrival receptionist was not as helpful as expected- I had to inform her that we've never stayed here before so did not know which way was what - eg breakfast room, outside areas, spa and pool. But rest of the time the staff were all amazing.

Home from home wide range of in- room facilities (with free gin if you like it) - didnt have to ask for anything else! Fan also provided as room quite warm (visited June) Spa facilities lovely including indoor and outdoor relaxing area - didnt book a treatment although many available! Dining room/outdoor sitting views of sea lovely. Ambience of hotel is just lovely - real sense of rest and peace
Parking clearly an issue albeit ‘alternative parking’ pamphlets on check in desk. No way to regulate room temperature other than a fan! Over bath shower could do with an in-bath mat to avoid slipping to step over high sided bath (which I did - ouch!)

The car park was very full when we arrived but we were told at any point we could double park and the staff would see our car parked when a space became available. My first drink I order had a huge fly muddled in with the ice. This took quite a while to be rectified and we didn’t receive anything as an apology, not even an apology! The menu was quite limited in the upper deck restaurant if you’re not into fish, but it was cooked perfectly. Our room was small but comfortable. We had complimentary Gin in the room in a decanter. We didn’t try this, I was worried it could have been tampered with or other things put into it, but a lovely idea. Whilst sitting out on the decking after dinner having some drinks it became very cold, the offer of a blanket would have been welcomed as the view was so beautiful and we were enjoying our time outside, just a shame we had to cut our evening short.

We were not happy with our original room! The staff did everything possible to put this right and we were very happy with the room we stayed in.
We were given the same room as when we stayed in January 2025 (409). At this time it was £160 and now it was £260! However, as it was my wife's 60th Birthday I had in my mind upgraded the room as it described as Double room with a harbour view and the room in January was a Small Double Room! So had I booked the small double room as before we could have ended up in 409 and saved £70! We ended up in 406 which was a Standard Double Room with a side view. It was much bigger and brighter and £40 cheaper! Another downside was the fact that the staff seemed reluctant to give us a refund but strongly encouraged us to spend the difference. Consequently my wife purchased a bag which she didn't really want!

We booked what they describe as a small cosy double, the room size was more than adequate, well furnished and very comfortable. We visited the indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room which was also really nice.
When we went to breakfast we were told that due to the room type we had booked we would only be entitled to continental breakfast - this wasn't a problem for us as we both prefer a continental breakfast, however there does seem to be an underlying theme to try to get you to book the more expensive rooms. Describing the room as a "cosy" double, only allowing a continental breakfast - I imagine there is someone in their marketing dept who thinks this is a good way of making extra income when really it just comes off as a bit underhand. I feel sorry for the staff who have to explain the breakfast situation to customers as it must make their job really difficult.

Amazing location, great food and very helpful / friendly staff. The room was very comfortable and the welcome Gin / Tonic is a nice touch. Room service is no problem and the ice trolley to top up your drinks is another nice touch. A very nice feel to the hotel.
The SPA is very busy so I wasn't able to book a treatment in the 3 days I was there (New Year's so this is understandable). Also, there is no separate bar (only a bar in the restaurant) and a very small area before entering into the restaurant. This meant that finding somewhere to sit, have a coffee / beer and read was not easy to find sometimes.

Our accessible room was well fitted out, generously sized and with several alarm cords. Ample shelf space in the bathroom and a snug heated towel rail. Staff were exceptional. Continental breakfast was superb and the dinner menu varied and was consistently sublime. Complimentary gin in the room with an evening ice/lemon/fresh milk room service trolley was an inspired touch. If you are getting the impression that we enjoyed our week's stay you are absolutely right!
Hotel hosts functions and we were kept awake by an external door banging as guests left. Shame that there was not a closer on it to reduce the noise

Having booked a "disabled" room we arrived during a lull on an otherwise very stormy & wet day, after a difficult drive to find no obvious space in the very full car park.. Within 2 minutes Raphael appeared and whisked us into a reserved space right by the flat entrance to the spa, and very close to our room. He, like all the other staff, couldn't do enough for us throughout our stay., helping to make my husband comfortable, reserving a window table for breakfast one day. The room was spacious, very attractively decorated and most importantly allowed us to adapt one of the armchairs to make it a suitable height for my husband, who isn't a wheelchair user, but has severe back injuries and needs a chair with a high seat and arms. Once settled in, we were delighted to experience the daily 5pm round of ice bucket & lemon replenishment to go with the complementary gin (you have to pay for the tonic) plus a jug of fresh milk to go in the @fridge for early morning tea. Even a teapot! Having the nearby spa open so early for a swim was great too. All the meals were good, if a little pricey, but the service was excellent, plenty of responsive and well trained staff.
The only comment I can make is that the room was on the lower floor and overlooked the carpark. The weather throughout was bad, too windy to sit outside in the Upper Deck, but nonetheless it would have been good to have been able to book a room with the facilities we needed on an upper floor with a sea view. I don't believe that was possible.
