We had a lovely room overlooking the courtyard. The hotel is ideally situated in the heart of Christchurch and the staff as always were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice, although there was some confusion around what was included in the booking price.
If you’re from the Harbour Hotels group and reading this, then I’m sure the following comments will be familiar. When we booked up on Booking.com it stated that breakfast was included. I naturally assumed that this meant a cooked breakfast. On arrival we were told that our booking included a Continental breakfast and a cooked breakfast would be £6 per person per day extra! It was explained to us that this was an error on the Booking.com web site but they would waive the extra charge. Please address this discrepancy in the Booking.com listing as it’s very misleading.

A warm welcome at check-in. Our room was spacious with natural light and ample storage space. Lovely comfortable beds and pillows and a good selection of tea/coffee etc. There was a good selection at the Continental breakfast, lovely staff.
The bathroom was large, however, the shower area could be an issue. Due to the high sided bath, there was no grip handle . In the place where this should are the toiletries (which were lovely). So, while standing in shower, if a person is stood next to the toiletries, the shower screen would not prevent water going onto the floor. By standing closer, the toiletries are out of reach so need to step back or twist which could be a problem of slipping. No parking spaces were available on arrival due to a function.

Room 304, in the eaves, which isn’t too bad if you’re not too tall. I’m 5’9” so a bit difficult sitting up in the bed due to the eaves. I’d call it a compact double room but we were only there to sleep & the weather was good so out most of the time. Room was very, very clean, thank you to the cleaners who took a lot of care. Nice to have bottles of water & milk in the fridge which, along with tea, coffee & biscuits were topped up daily. Reception very helpful too. Noise from next rooms air conditioning unit was a bit disturbing but didn’t go on constantly. We were lucky to park in their slots opposite & the park & river walks were great. Also visited the museum.

Breakfast excellent. First bclass fried eggs, bacon. and sourdough toast . The bacon notablty did not have any simister white muck oozing from it, which can be such a hazard these days. I would have liked to be offered more toast. I just had bacon and eggs, not the "full English" because I deplore beans being srved with eggs; and mushrooms and tomatoes cool at different rates and as cold items on the plate are very unappetising. I think it would be good if you could offer "just bacon and eggs" as a specific breakfast option, perhaps with 2 eggs and extra bacon and fried bread. If anyone at the hotel is a bit literary, they might like to refererence Col. Raden's breakfast in John Buchan's novel "John Macnab". The novel also has fishing adventures which have a resonance with the nearby Rive Avon. I did not have any othewr meals at the hotel The staff at KH are truly first class. All of them were keen to help, nor avoiding gertting involved in matters which were not strictly their responsibility. All were working for the best interests of the hotel and guests.
Lack of grab rails in shower and bathroom. Very dangerous. Needs immediate fixing before somebody slips, breaks a limb and sues you. Decor in ding room and bar too dark and comlpicated. The rooms are well proportioned and elegant and need very plain classy decoration. get rid of all the trendy arty stuff.. Makes the place seem like a chinese reastaurant.

The original features in the lounge area and the new decoration add character. The bedroom we were allocated was magnificent and spacious . We were upgraded which was a bonus. Staff were lovely and accommodating. Food was fab and service was attentive and friendly. Parking directly opposite the hotel was also a bonus. Not sure if this would be available ( unless booked in advance) in high season. We will be returning as new owner was lovely! Easy walking distance to all of Christchurch and great location ! Some renovation taking place at front of building but didn’t disturb us at all. Well worth trying the dinner and breakfast here as very tasty and good portions.
Nothing except the lift is a bit small!

A very atractive hotel and dining area. Comfortable room. Lovely view of church, cricket pitch and castle ruins.
Minor point: The strange, rather inapropriate use of pop music in the dining room. Just seemed to destroy the atmos. Volume made it slightly distracting. Maybe you've researched this and this is what people want. But i doubt it. Classical music played very low would be more fitting. Music is important and if you get it wrong in my experience it's best not to have it at all. (I love pop music btw, but it has it's place and some of the selection was just crass or comical).

I adore this hotel, and even though they were refurbishing while I was there, no noise or disturbance was heard. I had a fabulous room on the first floor with a lounge area, large bathroom and huge bed! The heating wasn't connected yet as the rooms were not all finished but it wasn't a problem. The staff was wonderful. My only regret was not booking the Sunday Roast lunch in time because it was full and we had to go elsewhere... Refurbishing should be finished end of march 2025 so I will be back then to discover the new restaurant and bar!

We stayed in room 103 on the first floor and it was absolutely beautiful. The bed was large and so comfy, the view from the suite was fantastic overlooking the green, our room was so spacious and the decor was well thought through, it had a very luxurious feel. Also a special mention to Dean, Charlotte and Boo. You were so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed for a super stay. Thank you!
The shower was a little difficult to regulate. 3 different notches to get this right. Took some time to work out.

The hotel is in a great location for everywhere in Christchurch, and you can park the car, and not use it again, until you go home. There is a bus stop outside, if you want to explore the area. We like to walk a lot, and from the hotel, you can walk to Mudeford in about 30 minutes. We also walk to Bournemouth from there too, but is a long walk. The rooms are furnished to a good standard, and the bed and pillows are so comfortable, it makes getting up to explore the area, just that little bit harder!!
I love this hotel, but if I had to be picky, I would have to say that the rooms on the top floor, really could do with some air conditioning, as they can be very warm at night

We had a bonus upgrade to a lovely room looking out over the green and old castle ruins, the room was bright, clean with super king size bed. Check-in had been friendly and painless. the continental breakfast was great, a good selection with top quality ingredients and came with the by now expected very friendly service. dinner wae similar helpful staff, excellently cooked food from a not large but well thought out menu. I chose this at short notice from Booking.com not knowing what to expect but from the moment I walked in I knew I'd got a winner. Loved it.
Perhaps the background music in the restaurant was a bit loud .
