The bedrooms were comfortable, breakfast was good (except it was missing the hashbrowns and black pudding for a complete english breakfast) good access to facilites

Staff didn’t show much attitude. They don’t explain things properly causing us to figure stuff out on our own and even when we say thank you they never say you’re welcome

Room was very comfortable with two balconies and a view of the harbor. Staff was attentive and the food was very good.

After checkout, it took over 2 hours to get a taxi! I don’t expect the hotel to provide transportation, but I do feel they should inform guests of this “known problem on sailing days”.

Bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and well decorated. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Nice area to relax by the fire with a drink in the foyer area. Amazingly located for all the nightlife in town.

Staff were polite on the whole but they just lacked any enthusiasm or desire to be friendly. This is an international hotel with cruise guests from all over the world. I feel management need to perhaps incentivise their staff to be a bit more outgoing. The pool is a great addition but the steps down to the pool could do with a refurb. Bar is very expensive.

Had a hot water issue on arrival, which took some time to recover when we wanted showers and the TV kept glitching, which we did have a guy come within 15mins when reported to fix it. Nespresso machine was leaking all over the desk and floor. First world problems, but a little frustrating for the calibre of hotel. On the major plus side; I was celebrating (commiserating) 60 years, and I spent the day in Leo's bar where the staff were absolutely amazing and looked after me, my friends and family all day and evening!! Thanks to all of them for being so gracious and fun. They brought me birthday cake on a slate and it was awesome. Didn't arrange for it, they just did it! Great team! Staff in general were very friendly and professional.

The room we had was amazing but a couple of things let it down. The bathroom was amazing especially the spa bath!!! We loved all the treats that were there on our arrival

The lighting in the room was very poor!!! No central light it was difficult to dry my hair at the desk so I had to move the standard lamp near to the desk to shed more light on the situation!!! The room was quite cold but we found 2 small electric radiators in the wardrobe so they just about managed to take the chill off the room!!! For the size of the bathroom the shower was a tad small and didn't give you any room to manoeuvre

Great location for Southampton - only a few minutes walk to harbour and city centre. We booked three rooms as a group and the hotel went the extra mile before we arrived to make sure our rooms were close to each other on the same floor - thank you! The junior suite had lots of space and a separate lounge and a balcony with a view over the water.

Our overall experience was really good - we liked the place. But some aspects are desperately in need of an update - for example the shower in the suite was just a tired-looking system over the bath, rather than a more modern walk-in shower. Balcony doors were really difficult to open too. Just needs a bit of TLC to make it live up to the luxury aspiration and cost. Staff were friendly and great but the team were let down by the reception we received in the spa/swimming pool on our first visit.

Great location across the road from the harbour/port. Some lovely restaurants nearby & shopping/ retail. Some really lovely historical buildings near hotel. Breakfast was amazing, lots of options & hit/ cold drinks & very good good quality produce. Bar area was very nice , some nice wines and beers available. We stayed here as our base to visit Paultons park, which was only 15 mins away! Wouk’s recommend highly and would definitely come back. Pool area was great for families aswell.

Pool temperature was a little on the cold side. The concierge when we arrived was a bit short & sharp & didn’t really make you feel welcome.

Loved it - parking was reasonable (£7 for 24 hours), room was clean, modern, comfortable, and very spacious with a great view. Spa facilities were lovely and I swam both mornings. I loved how hot the jacuzzi was and sauna and steam room clean and fresh smelling. Breakfast was ample and quality with plenty of options; not the biggest selection, but very reasonable. All staff we encountered were polite, helpful and so lovely. Excellent in-room facilities for coffee and tea making.

My only quibbles would be that the bed was good, but could be improved with a slightly higher quality mattress potentially, Additionally, as I like to travel light and use the hotels toiletries, I was hoping for conditioner with the shampoo- it’s rare to find in a hotel these days, but really would make this the best experience for me. Our plug sockets in the headboard did not seem to charge our devices overnight, so I’m not sure why.

Lovely place, parking was great, easy check in, our room was upgraded, which was a nice surprise. Lovely balcony! Breakfast was really good! Lots of choices ! Great choices for gluten free as well. Staff very friendly and helpful! We would definitely come back again in the future!

The air conditioning may need some maintenance, it was making a loud noise so we switched it off. The extra bed in our room I think was more for children, not for an adult id say, so I moved the mattress onto the sofa which made it a bit better. I would probably have to book a single room next time to have a better bed for myself.

Rooms were clean. Nicely decorated. Good size. Plenty of plug sockets and space for our items. We had complained politely that the window seal is broken and the strong wind sounds were awful and our first night sleep was not good. We were offered a room immediately (road side, but traffic noise was high). The manager came up and gave us an alternative room which was perfect, no noise and actually a size upgrade at no extra cost. The manager was so professional and understanding and wanted to do his job kindly. Breakfast had so much choice, and regularly topped up with fresh food. Facilities have pool, jacuzzi at one level; the sauna and steam room is upstairs, but it's not signposted.

Traffic noise on the road side of the hotel (was offered a room on this side, but thankfully there was another option of room so didn't continue but something to consider for guests). 1 particular member of staff was rude, and would push past at breakfast, just because he wanted to top up the bread. No manners. Didn't talk. Just pushed past me. I saw him do it to other hotel guests too. Breakfast finished immediately at 10am. Food items were removed straight away. Even as I was choosing a croissant, staff tried to intervene their hands across me to not allow me to take one (the particular staff mentioned above, again!)
