Lovely room with everything you could want. Staff were lovely and food exceptional.

Felt that with the price of the room £229 for one night that breakfast could have been included!

Lovely shower bit mouldy on cieling in there. Lovely big bed ac was great The tea they have is delicious . And a good pig theme Ordered us a taxi to QM2 But wish I booked with the hotel direct as you get breakfast included at th £265 per night and you don't with B.D.C for same price . Booked for anniversary booking.com cancelled then we had to rebook for more money ?

Toilet door was a narrow squeeze as opens in onto sink unit so not much room to squeeze round Could do with slippers in there as quite slippy on the polished floors in socks and not keen on walking barefoot in a hotel room.

Staff was "over the top" friendly and accommodating. Stored our luggage prior to check in, then delivered it to our room when the room was ready (we were out in town at the time). Made recommendations about taxi to the cruise port, and showed interest in us personally. Breakfast buffet was "just right." Location could not have been better, and the "inn" atmosphere is what we desire when we travel (opposed to "hotel"). If we make it back to Southampton, we will stay there again.

Unfortunate that there is not a lift to the third floor. Stairs were steep and tight, but staff handled our luggage for us. This is acceptable, as it's a historic place, and some history shouldn't be changed!

Staff were welcoming and helpful. The hotel is refreshingly quirky in terms of design. The dining area was small but pleasant. We had dinner, which was nice, but lacked a wow factor. Our room was nicely designed, but small. Nevertheless, it was clean, quirky in a good way, and had lots of amenities including a well-stocked fridge and selection of snacks. The small bedside radio, which was playing classical music when we entered, really created a relaxing vibe upon our arrival. One highlight was the shower, which was larger than anticipated and a real treat. The room was peaceful, the bed was comfortable, and we had a good night's sleep. The air conditioning also worked well. Location was also very good - a little bit away from the centre, but close enough to walk. All in all a nice stay (we would have loved to have stayed another night) and we would be happy to stay again.

The dining area has something of a living room feel, which is pleasant, although some chairs/tables are a little laidback/low for the purposes of eating. At dinner, our beetroot starter was pleasant but too simple. The fish main was nice, but too heavy on potatoes and again lacking depth. The posset (which I was most looking forward to) was odd; the consistency wasn't at all right and the dish felt wet and gelatinous with a strange flavour. The shortbread biscuits were very nice though. Our room was smaller than anticipated (the example photos during booking showed what appeared to be a larger room with a standard window, whereas our room seemed smaller and had a small, non-opening, corner window above head height). It would also be better to have a more secure luggage storage area.

The hotel is small and intimate with a sense of a country cottage rather than a big city hotel. The staff is exceptional, and the decor is traditional and inviting. The location is perfect. It's close to the cruise terminal, the local shopping center and the high street. There is a nice pub a 2-minute walk away. The room was a bit snug but nicely furnished. The bathroom/shower was roomy and comfortable.

Breakfast is not included but they do serve food in the morning at a reasonable cost. It is important to pay attention to the room selection especially regarding which floor and the stairs. There is an attic room called the "Snug" room that is up a very narrow flight of stairs to it is vital to pay attention to room selection when booking the room.

Beautiful boutique hotel in walking distance of the shops, bars and restaurants and the harbour in Southampton. A very historic area and very pretty. The room was clean, comfortable and the tea / coffee / water and fresh milk in the room was a nice touch. The toiletries were lovely and there was lots of space in the superior room. Parking on site was safe and extremely close to reception. Lovely breakfast and an enjoyable evening meal.

I’m almost 9 months pregnant and it wasn’t helpful being walked up to the top floor to find our room, only to find the room was on the floor below! I had notified the hotel in advance this was a special stay for my husband and I. However, a small note and two little biscuits were not really what I was expecting. I wasn’t given any options to add anything extra to the rooms (whereas other pig hotels have). Always surprised you have to pay for parking when you’re spending over £180 a night for a hotel!

Beautiful hotel, warmly greeted, fantastic large room on ground floor as requested. Very large comfortable bed. Lovely bedding and pillows so comfy did not want to get out of bed! Great decoration of room. Loved the tea making facilities as not just your usual standard tea bags etc. High quality products, a cute little bottle of milk in the fridge. Nice water bottle each that they will refill for you for free. Free chocolate treat in cupboard along with lots of goodies you can purchase. Wine, champagne and tumblers provided and corkscrew. Dressing gown and comfy towels, flannels, Quality hand soap and shower products. Lovely modern shower, bathroom. Wooden shutters along with curtains you can use to block out light. Excellent parking facilities through secured gate for £12. Restaurant is quirky, small but as previously mentioned plenty of room for diners. Food is fantastic and very filling, could not finish sausage roll as so huge and tasty, took it home in dogie box and bought another to take home the next morning. Compliments to the Chef. If you want fast food go elsewhere, this is fresh food and you wait for it to be cooked, which is worth it. Location great, next to the walls you can access. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again! Thank you !

Nothing to fault at all!

We loved every minute of our stay. The staff were very efficient and friendly. Great service and relaxed approach.

Not a great deal! We had already been to the Pig in the South Downs and wanted to see what yours would be like being in a city not in the countryside. It lived up to our expectations of what the Pig ethos is all about. Your staff were super friendly, informative and helpful and we will be back to explore other Pigs around the country. Have bought your book which is a real gem! Looking to organise a reunion with my family spread around the world and will look at the Pig in Coombe Devon which looks stunning.

Lovely unique location set in the old boundary wall of Southampton Old Town, on the flip side no garden, but the outside dining tables with the sunny weather more than made up for this. Very clean with polite attentive staff and chef is amazing in the smallest of kitchens - very tasty! Great shower pressure and toiletries provided. Very secure carpark

Breakfast service was manic, with one person trying to serve and check out guests. Air con was on in the room and it was very cold on arrival, but switched off and room become warm.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff were amazing. On arrival we felt like we were being welcomed into a home from home. The staff offered to take our bags to the room and any requests we had were no trouble at all. The room was fantastic with every detail thought out. Breakfast was perfect!!

I really couldn't fault anything from our stay. If I had to pick one thing then it would be that the TV was hard to view from the bed as it's not centered. It's so minor though and obviously didn't impact our stay at all.
