Location is great, we had an early bus, were looking for a basic stay close to the station. The room was exceptionally clean. There’s laundry for £5 and dryer for £4 in the hotel, paid by card; this was awesome. Though, there’s only one washing machine, so I imagine some luck may be required to do the laundry:) well, we were lucky. Beds are comfortable

The room is the size of cruise ship cabin - tiny. Somewhat tricky to take a shower - you need to undress outside of the shower cabin, in the main room, hang the clothes & towels outside. There’s no bath-room per se, just the main room with shower in it. Probably it’s ok if you travel alone. Breakfast included into the price, was absolutely basic, small amount of pastries, cereal, jams. They offer more advanced breakfast option though in the sister Ibis hotel next to this one. Well, budget is budget - what you see is what you get

The two ladies on reception were delightful when I arrived late on 7 June due to the Best Western having turned me away after a 5 hr journey because their booking system had failed to recognise that I had my little dog with me even though I’d selected 1 person plus one dog when booking the accommodation. The Ibis team were exceptionally welcoming and friendly and booked me in without any issues. I cannot rate your reception ladies that night more highly. Thank you for being so friendly after my awful experience at Best Western and making a difficult night turn out well.

The bed wasn’t the most comfortable but you get what you pay for.

We used this hotel for a pre-cruise stay. We had arrived from Gatwick by the train and it was an easy walk to the hotel with our carry-on cases. The room is basic but all that was needed for the stay. McDonalds and Ikea are nearby if you want a quick bite. Did not have the breakfast in the hotel. We have stayed here previously. Uber ride to the cruise port was under 5 GBP

The toilet flushed very loudly. The shower area was part of the room but it worked fine.

Breakfast was a little stretched when I came down, most things had run out, coffee machine not working and crockery run out. There was a member of staff who was on her own trying to do everything including desk duties. I don't think this is the norm and she did well to get things restocked, sort coffee machine and remain polite. I was in 205 and from 5.30am I could hear a low hum like washing machines or similar in the distance for a couple hours that was a little bit annoying. Would be great to have a shelf in the shower for own items, hook on bathroom door or a stool for us in shower or to put clothes on rather than on the floor and a small shelf by the sink rather than having to use ledge above toilet for toiletries. Another bin the the bathroom also would be great.

easy to find, but high parking charges. welcoming staff. Room clean and comfortable . Breakfast good value for money, it did the job for one night

didn’t like the concept that council are -allegedly putting up rough sleeper s and illegal migrants in the hotel. Not the most pleasant experience watching a person in front of me cleaning his ears out at breakfast.somebody tried to get into my car as I was parking about 10pm. Was warned by regular guest. about mixed residents. I don’t think I would make a return visit.

Convenient to train station. Room very clean. Bed a little more firm than I would prefer. Staff great. Breakfast good. The reason we chose ibis budget was due to being pet friendly. Will stay there again. Liked the ability to delay check out until 1130 am.

The price for our stay on Friday & Saturday nights were very high (almost triple) compared to the rate that was posted for the property for a Sunday night stay. I understand that 5 cruise ships were in the port on Sunday morning, and the Southampton boat show was on, but wow it seemed way out of line for a 2star property

Perfectly placed for a cruise trip. Halfway between train station (easy walking distance) and NCL cruise port (even easier walking distance). OK so there's no iron - who irons on holiday? Walking into town for breakfast. Late check out just in time to board the ship. It's budget so don't expect too much but it's all you need. Comfortable bed and a bit of telly.

Missed a kettle but it wasn't the end of the world

Location close to bus and train terminals as well as cruise terminals. Bedrooms were small but clean with in-suite bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet separate so multiple folks can use facilities at once. McDonald's right next door for late night snack or quick and inexpensive meals. Continental breakfast was very good. Reception allowed us to store luggage for a few hours following check-out, which was very helpful.

Honestly, it met my needs for a budget hotel. Nothing fancy or extremely comfortable, but clean and not broken down.

Front desk staff were very helpful. I didn’t like having a room on the ground floor (didn’t like people walking past). They changed it without any fuss. It is a basic hotel - but the sister hotel across the way has a bar, it is in a useful location, is clean and provides all you need for a couple of nights. I took a travel kettle etc with me as well as a hairdryer.

A small fridge would have been useful.

Room had all basic facilities you would expect for business travel, and at this price range. The staff were helpful and very friendly. Checkin and checkout were quick and hassle free. The wifi was good. Room was clean and the bed was made. The shower had good pressure and the water was warm. The room was the right temperature. The location is good if you are visiting the city for business or using the city's transport facilities. Carpark has CCTV.

A lot of noise outside at night due to what appeared to be street racers and the local McDonalds drive through. The insulation on the window did little to stop this noise.
