Friendly, helpful, owner. Nothing was to much trouble this is what the national brands cannot match. I highly recommend this guest house to anybody, it's home from home. The rooms were very clean and tidy and I slept so well. The breakfast has such a healthy choice rather than the usual fry up. Location is just right for the city. This place is a jewel in Southampton.

I liked everything about this guest house the nationals could learn a lot from this experienced owner, this is how it should be done.

On arrival the lady was so polite and helpful explaining everything to us. Telling us how close things were from the guest house. She couldn't do enough for us, Honestly her manners were impeccable and the breakfast was lovely. I will definitely come back to Abbey Lodge Guest house. And I would reckon mend it to everyone and stay there. Thank you very much for your kindness and politeness on our stay with you. Absolutely amazing lady ♥️

I honestly can't write anything because we liked everything about the place.

Stayed there before a cruise trip. Easy to find with satnav. Exactly what you need for one night, owner was lovely - let us store our heavy bags in a downstairs room, booked us a taxi to take us to the terminal the next morning. Place was spotless and breakfast was lovely.

Not en suite but I knew that when booking but if that is something you care about just be aware that most of the rooms and not ensuite

The owner was very friendly and made us very welcome and was very knowledgeable about the area. The room was a lot bigger than we were expecting. Very central to the town centre and easy reach to cruise terminals. Would stay here again.

The owner provided a fan heater in the room and explained the heating was not on as she only had 2 guests. Our room had full sun so was not a problem however there was no hot water in our sink only in the bathroom down the hall, which was not heated and was very cold. Could of been an issue if fully booked as only 2 Toilets and bathrooms for approx 7 rooms.

The light breakfast was well stocked with a great variety. The toast was a great and welcome addition for a hot option. The room was lovely, felt very home like with great facilities in the room. The shower/WC was well equipped with enough hot water! Great location to Southampton town centre with most attractions within walking distance. The close proximity to multiple parks for idealic autumn strolls was amazing also.

The bed was unfortunately not as comfortable as we were hoping. Though the attempt to use a memory foam mattress topper is noted and helped to a degree, the underlying mattress wasn’t brilliant.

Liked the quaintness of the B&B. Location was excellent within walking distance of downtown Southamptom. The breakfast was fine. On arrival the owner recommended we immediately schedule a taxi to the cruise port for the next morning due to likely heavy demand for them, and she arranged it.

Ran out of toilet paper the night we were there and could not find any in the B&B. Could not contact anyone to help either. Used kleenex we had brought. No elevator so had to carry our heavy bags upstairs to the room (but I expected that before I booked, so be aware.)

This is. a lovely guest house that offers a quiet room and a comfortable stay with a breakfast. We had a shared bathroom but no one else used it except us and it was right next to the room. Our lovely host also knew that we did not like heat so offered us the room at the back of the house which was very cool and quiet.

The only problem we had was that the single bed in our room had developed a squeak that kept us awake a bit but we reported that and I am confident it will be fixed.

Great location near the train/bus station, walkable. While the bathroom was in the hall, it was right outside our door. Breakfast was cold but very good. Coffee and tea were served. Grocery store nearby.

The owner was absolutely wonderful, we were visiting the university for an open day and the location was perfect, walking distance from shops and bars, breakfast was lovely, if my daughter decides to go to this uni I will always stay here to visit her, perfect thank you for making us so welcome

Nothing, everything was perfect

Abbey Lodge is exactly as described: a clean, centrally located guest house with comfortable rooms and spotless shared hall bathrooms (though we did not have to share) and a light breakfast. Friendly and helpful host.

I was very happy, but if I HAD to add something here, well, I am gluten free so possibly another option for me.
