Mike in reception was incredibly helpful. He was friendly and always willing to answer questions. He even moved me to a balcony room so as to reduce the amount of noise coming from the Christmas parties… very thoughtful but totally appropriated. The location was also ideal.
That I had to leave!

Staff were very helpful and always doing their best. The communal area near the bar etc was very good (lots of comfortable seats) and also there was a free football table & ping pong in that area plus a pool table with a small chargeable fee (the quality of these was good, a much better standard than in other hotels I have stayed in). The swimming pool was also very good and although there was a restriction on people at any one time it was always available when I wanted to swim & never too busy. Breakfast was good and always being topped-up.
We stayed in a lodge, I don't think we actually booked a lodge it was just allocated to us, but the walls seemed thin (I could hear a night-time story, complete with animated voices being read to a young child in another suite as well as arguments amongst other families). At breakfast the toast making facilities were poor (very slow going through and hardly coloured the bread even when put through twice). Car parking, although there were plenty of spaces available, never seemed enough so once we had parked we tended to leave our car at the hotel & walk or use buses if we wanted to get anywhere.

Breakfast on the first day - Saturday was outstanding. Plenty of choice, buffet style breakfast so you could have as much as you wanted. Although 2 of us, bedroom had a seperate single bed in there as well, which gave us extra room. Bath was wonderful and water was piping hot! Even though hotel is classed as a 3 star, I think is closer to a 4 star. Lift to both floors, bar and restaurant all good. Due to limited time didn't get the chance to try pool / jacuzzi.
Parking - we were there at the same time as a wedding party, so once we went out on the Saturday for the day we were unable to park on the car park & had to park down the road. There is limited parking on nearby streets, but at least it is free so not a massive issue. If you had mobility issues it may cause a problem. Although as mentioned the breakfast was superb on the Saturday, on the Sunday we noticed sausages were undercooked and the overall standard was a little bit lower than the day before - but I guess we were spoiled with the Saturday Breakfast. Sea view from Restaurant was V nice touch.

The staff were friendly, welcoming, efficient, very courteous and helpful. I felt very welcomed and valued. The hotel was clean, well furnished light and airy. The views from the restaurant and my balcony were great. The only improvement would be to have better chairs on my side balcony and spruce it up a bit plus add a table. Apart from that it was amazing for the price. The breakfasts and service were great.( I didn't have any evening meals but the menu looked lovely) . The addition of an on site spa was lovely , though I didn't have time to try it. It looked clean and inviting. I would definitely stay there again. Great location for the beach too. Couldn't fault the excellent staff or facilities. The walk in rain shower was great! Ideal for a disabled/ less mobile guest. If it had a handrail near the toilet too it would be absolutely perfect. Plus lift nearby was handy and went right down to the car park which had accessible ramp and disabled spaces near the door and lift. A great hotel that I would recommend for any age( children were well catered for with table tennis, pool table and bar football plus a scavenger hunt. ) or mobility.
Only criticism would be the side view balcony could do with better chairs, a table and a bit of a spruce up.

Breakfast was fine. My sister is vegetarian and just had cereal, toast and orange juice. I don’t eat cooked breakfast and usually request poached eggs on toast but tried fried eggs that were available but didn’t enjoy how they were cooked. Just had water to drink which wasn’t always cold so was not pleasant.
Room was great and upgraded with a balcony which was excellent. Fried eggs were a disappointment but I didn’t request poached eggs so that was down to me. I did enjoy having beans on toast and the available preserves had excellent choices every day.

I liked everything about this hotel. It's located in a residential area, away from the main roads, making it very quiet and peaceful. It has many free parking spaces belonging to the hotel. Alum Chine Beach is 5 minutes walk away, and Bournemouth pier is 30 minutes walk away. All of the hotel staff that we met were very polite and friendly. Breakfast was perfect. Leisure Club is very good. Sea view from our room with the balcony was beautiful. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Wi-Fi connection is strong. There is a lift.
The hotel is located on a hill and the walk back from the beach is steep.

Room: The room was clean and comfortable, and it worked well for me. The bed were cosy, and I appreciated amenities like the kettle and free Wi-Fi. However, the decor felt a bit dated, and the bathroom’s water pressure was low, which made showers less enjoyable. Updating some fixtures could enhance the experience. Breakfast: The breakfast buffet was a highlight, offering a great variety of options, from a hearty full English to continental choices like fresh pastries and fruit. The staff were attentive, ensuring everything was well-stocked. That said, the breakfast area can get busy, and some guests noted that the cost seemed high for the offerings. Adding a few more dietary-specific options, like gluten-free bread, would be a great touch. Location: The hotel’s location in Alum Chine is fantastic, just a 5-minute walk from the beautiful beach, making it perfect for a seaside getaway. It’s also close to Bournemouth Pier, about a mile away, which was easy to reach along the scenic seafront. The steep hill to the beach might be challenging for some, but we didn’t mind the short walk. The surrounding area felt quiet and residential, ideal for a relaxing stay.
Parking Issue: I were disappointed with the parking situation. During the reservation process, free parking was advertised as available, but upon arrival, I found the hotel’s parking spaces were full. This forced us to purchase 24-hour parking at a nearby lot, which was an unexpected expense and inconvenience. More transparent communication about limited parking availability or guaranteed spots for guests would significantly improve the experience.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our small twin room was upgraded on second night once available. We were told that the main restaurant would be unavailable on Saturday night for our family celebration of my birthday, but staff took note of my disappointment and we were treated to a window table in the main restaurant with delicious food. The location is great, easy access to the sandy beach, perfect for a family weekend break.
One fan inadequate for the hot family room and first small twin room. But only air con would have coped with the high temperatures we experienced. Tip: Book direct with hotel to avoid poor communication. Even with personal messages to the hotel about our dinner booking, the purpose of our trip being a special birthday celebration was lost.

I was worried about some of the comments about it being outdated etc but it was absolutely fine. A lot of parking at the back of the hotel as well as some parking at the front and off-street parking available too. The rooms were nice and staff were very friendly. They said that most of their rooms were dog friendly which is so nice - my dog seemed to enjoy his stay too :) Breakfast was basic English - would have been nice to have a continental mix but that’s just me being greedy. The swimming pool, hot tub and pool table was our fav parts of the hotel. We made the most of this when not out by the beach. The beach is a short walk (approx 6 mins). The hotel rooms don’t have a fridge but the staff were happy to keep my medicine in their fridge. They were very helpful.
It was cheep and cheerful. We loved our stay and would go back to the same place 😊

Pretty good location - fairly close to the beach (not walking distance for those with mobility or health issues - steep incline/decline), no problem parking onsite. Every staff member we encountered was very friendly & helpful. Hotel as a whole was very clean. We also used the facilities - bar, spa & ‘games room’. We had rooms with a balcony & sea view, which we were pleased with as we had rooms next to one another.
We felt it a little cheeky the air hockey & pool (both in the games room) is an additional expense. Drinks in the bar rather expensive but probably no different to other hotels. Rooms very hot (no air con). Fans are provided in the room but these aren’t sufficient enough. Leaving the windows open also wasn’t enough to keep the room cool enough on a hot day. The balconies with sea view aren’t private so I’d not be so comfortable on the balcony with a neighbour unknown to me sat outside too.
