The hotel is contemporary, in a business-like neighbourhood. Rooms are fairly spacious and clean. My room had a funky bathroom with a view over the lake. The room has a safe, coffee maker and fridge. Internet is good. Although there is no restaurant, and no breakfast, there is 24 hour coffee and biscuits downstairs, and beer from 15-23 hours. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location is good for those needing to be at the airport early, or arriving late.

While the staff are courteous and friendly, they struggle a bit with English. It is not a problem as such, but don't ask complicated things! It may also be worth pointing out that there is not much in the neighbourhood at night in terms of restaurants and shops.

Clean, new, modern, and quite near to the airport (12-15 mins drive). The staff were really helpful and even helped book the taxi. No breakfast but there's a 24h lounge with free biscuits and drinks (soft drinks and hot drinks, even beer in the afternoon and evening). There's an outlet park near by (about 10mins walk) and a good aquarium (XParks) just next to it, and a lovely park to walk just opposite the hotel.

For a new hotel, the soundproofing could be better. It's not horrible, it's just not great for a new hotel ( I could hear the person next door snoring from time to time). Still, my noise tolerance is very low. Most people would be happy with the soundproofing probably!

Little gem of a hotel. Close to Taoyuan International airport (from Terminal 1/2 (A12/13) to Station A17 (Linghang)), ~15 minutes (cost TW$ 20 each way per person ~ €0.50c) on the MRT which is clearly signposted in the airport. There are ATMs in the concourse(s), credit card is easier than debit card to get money, there is a manned ticket office at the airport,and at station A17, along with vending machines. You get a coloured token that gives access through the turnstiles It is a 5-7 minute walk from A17 (Linghang) to Alfar Hotel, slightly uphill but very, very gentle slope and smooth pavements), not under a flight path, so quiet overnight. The area is great, very tranquil, a few restaurants and cafes, lovely park and lake with the Calligraphy Museum opposite the hotel. There is no formal breakfast, however, there is coffee, tea, cookies, soft-drink available in the morning. Superb shower/bathroom, slippers provided along with usual bathroom stuff (razor, toothbrushes, etc.). Bed was fantastic with really great pillows. Staff were very friendly, they all spoke English (and probably other European languages). Hotel is clean, quiet and comfortable, wish we could have stayed longer.

A hotel with the traveller in mind. Excellent location, Excellent Service, Excellent cleanliness & attention to detail. A beautiful park across the road to relax, unwind, exercise and admire the view from your hotel room. We booked an extra large room with a bath with a lake view on the 6th / top floor. A lovely boutique hotel with an added benefit of a dining room with complimentary hot & cold water, sparkling water, beer, softdrinks, iced tea & vending self serve machines. Also a few snacks, dinnerware & tableware & cutlery are also provided . Very quiet but close to MRT A17 but A18 is not far and is the main station MRT & high speed rail. Also near the public bus stop. Around the corner is an excellent 7-11 with a cafe and other restaurants . Gloria Outlet centre is an easy 7-8 minute walk and has an adjoining shopping mall and XPark Aquarium. It has heaps of shopping and restaurants and food courts and street vending trucks. The A18 rail is across the road with a link way bridge and on the other side is IKEA with an excellent restaurant serving a great variety of meals suitable also for us westerners and locals alike at reasonable costs.A word of warning about transport- have cash organised for transport from the airport, terminal 1 (A12) does not accept Apple Pay and cards as of yet and have not been fully intergrated but can be used at A18 on the one way trip to the airport but not from the airport. Taxis are expensive….

Would like to see more than 2 pillows & fluffy ones as options but only a suggestion.

1.The reception staff are friendly and available 24 hours. They can help you book a taxi to the airport. 2.The lobby offers complimentary snacks, coffee, tea, and beer, all of good quality. 3.There is a small refrigerator in the room, and the air fryer is not attached to the wall. The tea and coffee in the room are selected good one from famous brands. 4.The hotel is very close to Taoyuan High-Speed Train station. You can walk to the hotel in about 15 minutes or take a taxi for approximately NT$120. It is also not far from Taoyuan International Airport, with a taxi ride costing about NT$350.

1. The toilet and shower are separated into two rooms. There is no hook to hang your towel in the shower room. 2. There is no wardrobe, only two hooks on the wall. 3. The room is small. If you have a lot of luggage, there is not enough space to open it.

This was my first stop in Taiwan from the airport, and it's a great location for that. The ride on the Taoyuan MRT takes about 17 minutes, and the hotel is about 5-10 minutes walking distance from the Linghang station. The hotel was easy to spot and I was checked in quickly. The rooms are the perfect size for one or two people and are very clean and modern. I found the bed to be very comfortable, although the pillows are a little soft for me. The hotel is in a very peaceful area with plenty of restaurants around, and a mall if you're into that. I'd suggest getting some cash at the ATM as most places don't take credit card. Taipei main station is easily accessible via the Taoyuan HSR station, which is about a 15 minute walk away.

The snack options could be better, they are all in individually wrapped packaging. Processed food, basically. But the coffee is good and there's free beer, so I can't complain too much!

We booked three rooms, because we went to the concert at Taoyuan Messe. It was convenient for us. The location was fantastic, only less than 10 minutes to the MRT station, from there only one stop to the THSR station easily (Taiwan High Speed Railway). The staffs were nice and friendly and the service was good. There are free drinks and snacks were nice touch. There’s a nice park close by which I like. Even though the size of the rooms aren’t big, we enjoyed our one night stay and slept well. Thanks!

The location is next to a lake and across from a museum. Food options around after 6pm are kind of limited, but you can go to either nearby mall and find plenty of places because they all are so close to walk to. The reception desk staff is great and were super helpful in telling me where to go and in getting a taxi to the airport. The room is perfect for a one or 2 nights short stay, not super big, but just the perfect size. Great water pressure in the shower too! The room had a bathroom, and a shower, and the sink was out in the room - so space was all well used. Super soft bed and pillows! And have to say do love the snack room with free snacks and free sodas and they do have beer as well. It is such a cool concept!

Good location. Located next to a pond/garden where lots of locals gathered around with dogs/pets and kids. Nice to talk about plus it’s only 8mins walk to the outlet!

The on/off light from the main consul is rather bright blue light lit on whole night when sleeping but it’s just me whom wanted a pitch dark environment to sleep. For the price I’ve paid, it’s a steal in Taoyuan area! Our 2nd time stays there while transiting early into Taoyuan airport

Was looking for a place close to the airport and yet still far enough away to enjoy an evening in Taipei. Alfar Hotel turned out to be the perfect place for that. The room was nice sized and the shower was very good and the bed was super soft. The desk staff were super helpful from the moment I stepped in the door and deserved to be recognized for an Outstanding job. I also like the dining area with free snacks and drinks - this really was a great thing! What I did not know when chose the hotel was just how great a neighborhood it is in by a small lake and the International high school and the calligraphy school. There are plenty of places to eat around and the outlet mall and the movie complex mall as well. At night the lake area is perfect for walking around. Absolutely beautiful area of town!

The only map I had was of course in Chinese... but one can make due when the room is excellent.
