Our stay at Casa Del Mar was perhaps the most ideal, relaxing stay we have ever experienced. My husband actually sat still for several days, poolside, and read a book (!!!), dipped in the pool occasionally, slept in the shade, meditated on the ocean scene spread out before him (jet skis far enough in the distance to be interesting but not noisy, parasails colorfully dotting the warm blue skies against puffy white clouds). Breakfast was declicious with western and suburb local offerings—-and plenty of everything. Bar service was exceptional throughout the day. We dined on site one night and the menu, food, and service on the beach was, again, exceptional. The entire staff was all smiles and eager to please—-we felt so very welcome. And—drum roll: the turndown service each evening was charming! We would go out to dinner (the hotel is steps away from the throng of downtown Cenang with all it’s shopping and dining options) though the facility itself feels miles removed) and when we’d return to our room, the lights were dimmed, soft jazz was playing on the internet radio, the sheets were exquisitely “turned” with clever little tokens of paper messages about the weather forecast for the next day, suggestions of what to do, etc. It was like getting a fortune cookie on your bed (without the calories!). Speaking of calories, as part of the turndown service, they also provided large ceramic mugs with fixings for either tea or hot chocolate. And they always had a jar of peanuts and coconut cookies to nibble on throughout the day. And we strongly encourage folks to reserve a “high tea” at least one afternoon. Their tiered trays of savory and patisserie dainties was just as delightful as everything else. We originally considered staying at the hotel further north—-the one with the rooms out over the water. But we opted to be within walking distance of town/activity and we are so very, very glad with out choice. Casa Del Mar is an exceptional hotel and great value!

Any complaints are shared by all the venues we’ve stayed at in SE Asia: No outlets in the bathrooms (for hairdryers, etc.) and not enough towel/misc. hooks. But these omissions were MINOR inconveniences compared to how exceptional everything else was (and, again: nowhere else we stayed had these amenities either, so I assume it’s a cultural norm, not a “flaw”).

The staff were amazing in every aspect and could not fault anything. We felt as we were the only people in the place as we were greeted by name and a wam friendly smile every and all day. Breakfast was very good, dinner wonderful and bar staff warm and friendly. Massage was excellent and very relaxing. Hats off to all just had a wonderful time.😊😊😊 It was so relaxing we have already booked for next year

From reception to departure everything went delightfully well. The welcome glass of ginger lemon was indeed very welcome on the very hot day we arrived. Every member of staff greeted us whenever our paths crossed. The breakfast was more than adequate, with the unexpected option of making your own cocktails if the mood took you - and many did just that! Menus were perfectly OK with a wide range of choices. We enjoyed dinner on the beach one evening: just delightful.

Leaving! Oh for the time and money to stay at Casa del Mar for much longer.

I originally booked 6 nights but ended up staying 13, that should tell you how much I enjoyed it. The hotel is right on the beach, which makes everything feel effortless and relaxing. No big buildings or long hallways, just a cozy, low-rise place with a real family atmosphere. I stayed on the ground floor, and it felt very private and peaceful. I loved how easy everything was. You can walk straight to the beach or the pool in your swimsuit, or just throw on something light and head to the restaurant. It puts you in a truly beach state of mind. Also, the staff were amazing: always friendly, warm, and helpful, whether at the reception, restaurant, or bar. It’s the perfect place to unwind and disconnect, especially after the busy pace of city life.

Fantastic location right on the beach but still very peaceful. Excellent staff that went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Breakfast was the best we have had in a while, excellent choice and quality in a beautiful setting. If the weather is good, dinner can be on the beach. Its a small hotel and we enjoyed the little personal touches (fragrance in the room, unlimited bottled water and yummy free homemade biscuits) and the attention to detail. More expensive than most places but defiantly worth every penny.

The fruit bar at breakfast was slightly hidden and we did not find out about this until day 3.

The hotel is very well situated, close to restaurants, convenience stores like 7-Eleven, and even the aquarium, which is only a 10-minute walk away. There are also other resorts and many shops nearby, making it easy to enjoy the surroundings without always staying inside the hotel. I also really appreciated the customer service. The staff was always attentive and caring, making sure guests had everything they needed, whether it was food, drinks, or clean and dry towels. The service felt very personalized, which made the stay even more enjoyable.

The only downside was the internet connection. The Wi-Fi was not always stable, and streaming options like Netflix or Amazon Prime required personal accounts that I couldn’t use. It would be great if the technology could be improved.

Every review has already said but it can’t be said enough. This is one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. Everything about it is perfect. The room, the location, the grounds, the food but above all, the staff. From the moment you arrive they are attentive, friendly, have a great sense of humour and after just a day or two, you feel like you are staying with family. It was easy to see why they have so many guests return over and over. Not only could I not imagine staying anywhere else in Langkawi, I am no longer sure I want to even travel anywhere else again. It’s that good.

There is nothing not to like

We were blown away by the superb location and the tranquil circumstances. The room was very comfortable. We loved the bed and the nice coffee provided in room. Food was absolutely world class - especially the prawns and seafood - and the cocktails. Great chef and staff. Hospitality by hotel staff was amazing. Our grateful thanks to Putra especially - for the great efforts.

The only issue that I can point out is that the housekeeping could have been a bit better, especially in the bathroom. Also the evening trash wasn't cleaned occasionally.

We stayed in a beach studio it was literally a couple of steps on to private sunbeds then on public beach. The location was great near restaurants/shops too. Room was very nice huge bed with great facilities. The staff were all great and worked hard to make your stay memorable. They bring you fresh detox water whilst sunbathing, and other things like ice lollies, fruit and a sundown drink all of those extra touches were much appreciated

There was nothing i didn’t like

We had the most relaxing week in years. The excellent staff service, hospitality and courtesy combined with the quality of food and general peaceful ambience of casa del Mar left us wanting to book a return holiday as soon as we can. Its location at the quiet end of the beach is great. We swam in the pool and the sea. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and good selection of shops for souvenirs and gifts. Loved our room too. A studio with sea view.
