The access to different location was great. The staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel was clean
Unfortunately the room that I had was facing the main street and it was very noisy so I could not get proper sleep especially on a Saturday morning as there was a cycling event from 6am.

On the whole we enjoyed our stay at Hotel Victoria Merida and would recommend the hotel to others. The staff members were very kind and helpful. We were surprised that not all of the desk staff spoke English (because it was stated that the staff was bilingual) but everyone made an effort to answer our questions which we appreciated. We arrived at 1am and were expected and check-in was brief. Communication in advance via email was responded to promptly. The hotel and guest rooms were kept very clean, and well maintained, though the beds were very hard-firm mattress on a solid wood platform...air conditioning was quiet and efficient. Rooms cooled down quickly. The housekeeping staff were very responsive to our needs. The soaking pool was nice, however one of the support handles had rusted to the point of being detached--not safe. Also, the marble steps up to the pool became very slippery when wet. As 70 year old guests, this was concerning. The hotel's Cafe Verona was pleasant and some dishes were very good. We enjoyed having fruit and yogurt for breakfast and some dinners on their outdoor patio. The coffee was not great which was a bit disappointing. But the cocktails were lovely. We were very happy with the location as there were a number of museums nearby on Paseo de Montejo that we enjoyed. It is on a wide boulevard with plenty of room to stroll and visit interesting shops and of course--restaurants and ice cream! And being outside of "El Centro" turned out to be a very good decision--it made for a peaceful and pleasant experience. There is a beautiful Aztec monument that is well lit at night just beyond the hotel--very nice!
We both found the beds to be quite hard and it took a few days to adjust to them and sleep well. As mentioned before, The soaking pool safety issues could be improved. The coffee at the restaurant is not very good.

The hotel itself is beautiful, just like in the pictures. The location is the main benefit, it’s incredibly well located and with a lot of walking-distance options for food/drinks around.
I was expecting the room to be on the same level as the stunning building but it was a bit basic. There was no comforter, beds only had sheets which is not great for me, and the TV is an old model with no option to use streaming services. Pillows were no comfortable at all. I was there for just one night but for a longer stay, the bed situation in general would have most definitively been a problem.

This hotel is in a prime location close to el Centro. It is immaculately clean with daily maid service. The hot water is automatic and the showers have great water pressure and the room has wonderful air conditioning. The wifi is stable. They have a restaurant that is reasonable in cost, and this hotel is right next door to a McDonalds restaurant plus a few other close by places to eat. Uber is abundant, economical and a great way to travel around the city. The employees went above and beyond to make my 6 day stay enjoyable.

Loved the location and nearby restaurants and attractions. The city was lively over the New Year Holiday. Hotel was lovely and clean. The staff were friendly, but most are non-english speakers. The on-site restaurant was a good way to start the day. Tours and taxies were available.
Could have been better informed by staff that the annual marathon was kicking off in front of the hotel the next day at 5 am.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and even had a small balcony. The small sitting pool on the roof was cool and just what you need after a hot walk into town.
The food in the resteraunt was good but not exceptional. The breakfast fruit were great very varied and beautifully presented. The coffee was a disappointment.

Location is perfect and incredible helpful and friendly staff! Restaurant is not expensive and good food.
No swimming pool, a jacuzzi on the top floor that doesn’t work, hotel has a beautiful lobby but the rooms are outdated and needs more maintenance.

Lovely old hotel, rooms are a little dated but very comfortable and clean. Very good value for your money in a good location. Staff are friendly and the restaurant is very affordable with a limited menu but good food.
The fixtures and furnishings are getting dated and tarnished, maybe time to do some upgrades.

I are at the restaurant on the first night, it was terrible (not what the menu said was accompanying) and the steak was inedible ,,,the server never asked what was wrong when I ate hardly any of it. I didn’t go back, could be other items or daytime was better, wouldn’t know. The staff in the hotel were just wonderful made me feel at home and helped with all my requests.
The last night it was noisy after ll:30 pm …I had to call the front desk after trying to get the noisemakers attention without success, within 1/2 hour it was quieted down. Can’t say I didn’t like anything else.

Great location. The room was fine. The rates were great.
Getting more bottled water and coffee with real cream (at odd hours) was a challenge. I wish the dining menu was more adventurous.
