From the outside the house looks modern but when you step inside the decor and antiques intentionally give the impression that you are stepping back in time. Our ground floor bedroom was down a long corridor with a private sitting room, toilet and bathroom off it, we had a lockable door at the end of the corridor. Chantal is a lovely kind person and although her English and our French is limited we managed to communicate and chat with some help from Google translation. We had a great 3:night stay and got to explore Verdun and some WW1 trenches nearby. We enjoyed Chantal's home cooked meals each evening. Her typically french breakfast is served each morning on the long dining table seated with other guests. Chantal's passion is her garden which is very quirky with a surprise around every corner, we particularly liked the off road parking area. We hope to stay again when next in the area. Thank you for your hospitality Chantal and the french lessons.

Chantal, the host, was very friendly and welcomed us on our slightly early arrival. We also selected to have dinner (Table d’hôte) at the gite as it’s quite far from any restaurants. Chantal was able to make a lovely four course meal with home-made ingredients- the pâte was particularly delicious. We did chat with her all evening - it helps to speak French(!).

Nothing of note. Despite the peacocks, which didn’t make a noise unlike the ones at home, we had a very quiet night.

This is a very magical place that feels like you walked through a time portal and landed in some forgotten time. An absolutely lovely, well-taken care of house set in the midst of a strickingly beautiful garden. We were delighted to try various home-made jams for breakfast. Our hostess was here to help with everything we needed, and we admire greatly the amount of love, care and knowledge she invests in making the garden as lush and lavish as it welcomed us. You have to come and visit to believe something like it exists.

Remote location which suits us well. The hostess does not speak other than french but uses a translator if necessary. an evening meal can be arranged but this is a home cooked food not restaurant choice but was beautiful and satisfying

There was nothing we did not like but guests need to know that the rooms are decorated and maintained in a dated style and the driveway is easily missed on arrival

This is a hidden gem. The gardens are simply enchanting, even in late autumn - clearly this is a labor of love for the proprietress. We loved the decor of the house and the wonderful breakfast provided to us. The croissants were the best we have ever had. In the back of the garden there is an ominous-looking gash in the hillside. Upon further inspection we discovered it is a somewhat overgrown ninepin bowling lane, complete with wooden bowling balls, a ball return chute, and a hidden chamber where the pin-setter can safely hide. There was plenty of cleverness everywhere we looked. We would definitely return.

our bedroom was a bit musty.

The B&B is situated in the midst of nature, you can hear the birds sing in the morning. A very friendly and helpful landlady and plenty of space around.

The interior has the appearance of the 1930s. You have to love this style, otherwise it looks a bit outdated. The facilities are ok, but I could not find a booklet with instructions, for example regarding wifi. For a couple, the bed in the chamber downstairs is somewhat crampy.

Our host was just lovely could not speak any English but that didn't matter we muddled through with our phones. The garden was amazing all looked after by the host. In side the house was old world a little dark. I booked the small room as I didn't read the size of bed and my husband is 6'2 so that was a little tricky, but as we stayed two nights in the end our host looked after us and swopped us to a bigger bed, bathroom.

We opted to have supper there. Chantal is a great cook! It was a 4-course meal which we enjoyed out in the amazing garden with the other guests. Very enjoyable evening. The breakfast was served inside and was also excellent. The garden is fantastic! It's like a park. Quite intriguing. Definitely in the country which suited us just fine.

We understood that we were to have a larger room than we did. I believe two people showed up that afternoon unexpectedly and that room was more suitable for their situation. It wasn't explained to us but we were a little disappointed at our room. Certainly understandable though and the room we had was fine.

We were given a friendly welcome by Chantal who showed us to a lovely, quaint room in her quirky house. We had everything we needed and enjoyed a delicious evening meal and breakfast. A walk around her gorgeous garden is a must and she was very proud of looking after everything by herself. A most enjoyable stay 😃

Everything was good
