The staff are great, they are very welcoming and make you feel part of the family. It was a great location to walk around Ullswater. We enjoyed having a walk in the afternoon and coming back to the cosy pub for an afternoon drink

The beds were a bit on the small side

Everything was unreal, the food was out of this world and the staff were all second to none..great range of drinks served at the bar by a special barman micheal..great bloke...ive only just left and booked to go back already...this place is top notch.

Superb attention. An example finding a chair to allow me to enjoy the surroundings as I have at present a sore back.

Steep stairs but this is a very recent issue for me.

Gorgeous. Great staff. Beautiful food. Love too ordering off a menu for breakfast as opposed to buffet. Very pet friendly some dog treats and routes for walks left in the room. Beautifully decorated rooms too. Five stars.

Lovely old inn with a very welcoming bar and restaurant and a very welcome roaring fire to greet us on a cold winters day. Also a very good quality restaurant with great food and good menu. We had a very enjoyable dinner and breakfast, both of a very high standard. Easy access from the motorway, although in a quiet village. Easy parking directly outside the Inn. Pleasantly decorated room with a good bed and linen.

Our room was small, with nowhere really to put anything, so we were both tripping over our bags whenever we moved round the room. Likewise the shower room which was tiny and unheated, again nowhere to put clothes, towels or toiletries, just two small hooks on the back of the door which were being used for bathrobes and a tiny shelf already filled with the house toiletries (for sale).

Well situated just a few minutes from the M6 / A66 junction. Warm welcome and room was the same as previously stayed in, warm, quiet and with plenty of bottled water / tea / coffee (but no biscuits😥) Food was very good, tasty and in the portions were just right. Good selection of beer and wine. Staff were knowledgeable, friendly yet unobtrusive

Darker curtains - 4:30 am was like mid day!

very nice = and great with dogs. Food was good and decor very nice. Great set up for somewhere to stop enroute north or south. Staff very friendly

Lovely furnishings and excellent food

Room windows didn’t open so couldn’t get room to a comfortable temperature quickly and bar on chilly side . Restaurant much warmer

Brilliant location, wonderful waterfall. Rooms very nice, food really good and pub had a lovely feel.

It was all amazing.

One night stopover on way North, was perfect quiet location not too far off our route. Dinner and breakfast both very good. Staff very helpful.
