Spacious rooms and well appointed in a beautiful area of the world . Lovely looking out over the fields and the breakfast was first class - do book breakfast I can highly recommend it What fantastic hosts - my son is lactose intolerant and and they had placed soya milk and dairy free Chocolate in the fridge for him and sourced a plant based yogurt for his breakfast - so thoughtful The property is in close proximity to the local pub for lovely food on an evening

A lovely breakfast delivered to the room saving us the trouble of finding something on the road. A very nice track nearby for my dog Otto to walk on in the evening and morning and luckily my house shoes were handy in the car as my wellies were packed in my roof box!

I had left my mud daddy at home but luckily our evening walk was not overly muddy and my wipes and towels sorted the dog. In the morning after overnight rain my car soaked him up as I could not see an outside tap and hose :)

We chose Sunset House as it was dog friendly and located near Penrith which allowed us to break our journey home from Scotland. The room was large, comfortable and extremely well equipped with a very good en-suite bathroom. Rather than having a separate dining area, the breakfast is delivered to your door in the morning and there is a table and to eat it at. The breakfast itself was excellent. If you are traveling with a dog, there is a path you can walk them a few yards away.

What a lovely and quiet location. I turned up by bicycle as I was riding the 'Lakes and Dales Loop', so it was very conveniently located as it was right on the route. The welcome was warm and my bike was safely tucked away for the night. My room was light, bright, airy and warm and really clean. The shower was great and the bed super comfy. I had to get away early the following day so didn't have time to take breakfast. The Sun Inn pub, a five minute walk away, serves fabulous food and that topped off a great stay. Thank you.

From initial contact through meeting a special request, to a warm welcome, all our hopes were met. This B & B is in a lovely, peaceful area, but near enough to Penrith and Carlisle for eating out/entertainment. Our room was spotlessly clean, the bed very comfortable and the breakfast (served in own room on a trolley) was lovely too. We would thoroughly recommend this B & B.

Stayed just the one night to break the journey home to Scotland, but will definitely be staying again. Rather than rambling on, I'll list the good points. Spotless room. Peaceful and very quiet location. A big plus for me. Relaxed and informal. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Served in your room. Good communications from owners. Good pub in the village, just a short stroll away. The owners have obviously made every effort (and succeeded) to make this a first class B&B Bad points: There aren't any.

My room was large, comfortable and quiet, and overlooked a sheep pasture .The hosts were gracious and helpful.

My only regret is that it is rather isolated, a £10 taxi ride from Penrith, and the only nearby business a pub/restaurant about ¼ mile away. Fine for travelers with cars, not so much for someone reliant on public transportation..

Everything was first class. The location is lovely in a small village with good food in the local pub

The house was easy to find with friendly, welcoming owners. Our staywas very comfortable and the room was nicely decorated with a comfortable bed. The cleanliness of the room was immaculate with a lovely view of lambs in the field.

Easy access to dog walks. Really helpful owners. Lots of useful information provided. Very comfy bed and pillows. An amazing breakfast delivered on a trolley to our room. SPECTACULAR!

Everything about the property was great.

The breakfast was very good and I liked the fact that it was brought to my room which meant that it took less time than if I had had a more formal breakfast in a dining room where I had to wait for each item to be brought to the table.

I was slightly disappointed that my only contact with the hosts was on arrival for a very quick introduction to my room. As a result of having breakfast in the room, which was left outside my door, there was no need for human interaction. On this occasion this suited me as I had to leave the house quite early each day, but on previous stays in guest houses all over the country I have been able to chat to the hosts about the area, and the interaction added to the feeling that the hosts were pleased to welcome you.
