Aside from being given the wrong room, the error was soon fixed and we were shown the correct one we had booked. Staff can't do enough for you, the room was exceptional, very tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean. We were in the Junior Suite with Mountain view. The breakfasts were really nice with lots of choices from cereal, fruits, meats, cheeses and also came with cooked omelettes, poached or boiled or scrambled egg and bacon if required. Toast and jam/marmalades to add as well. The view from the suite was spectacular. The proximity of he local bar was good, only a 2 minute walk. Had really good food there as well.

If Wi-Fi is very important to your stay, this was rather temperamental and used to break up every 5 minutes or so. However we had the choice of using our data via mobile as well so didn't really spoil anything. May have just needed a re-boot to be honest so didn't cause any fuss. For us it wasn't an issue but the town is quite remote, you will need a car but it is only 20 minutes from Velez Malaga and the coast resorts.

Beautiful room with a lovely balcony overlooking the lake and mountains. Fabulous claw foot bath, together with separate shower which had good pressure. Nice towels too, and plenty of wardrobe space. Breakfast was very good with a nice array of fruit and yoghurt plus a hot breakfast. The waitresses were very sweet but were quite tricky to communicate with! I'm vegetarian so would have obviously preferred no meat!!! No problem, I just passed it on to my fellow travellers! The location was as expected, fairly remote with a small bar and shop in walking distance. Some amazing restaurants in the location, but everything was a drive away. Small ,chilly pool but lots of sunbeds lush umbrellas. Lovely and quiet

The views are simply amazing. The staff are wonderful and can’t do enough. We really liked the peace and quiet but overall the hotel was a little tired.Decorating was OK but little things like dusty shutters and oldish paint on walls. I think as a top notch hotel the least we could have expected was a choice at breakfast . It was good. But the same patter every morning so was a little disappointed with a limited food option available. I also think that owing to its location if you needed to find suitable lunch/dinners you were stuck as it is out of the way a bit. Even if it was just the first night having a food option would be good. The pool was also a little in disrepair (tiles missing/no pool bar and generally needs a spruce up) However I have no doubt given its location it probably is the best in the area and we would return. Just when u are used to amenities in Europe you get used to the little luxuries as standard ( not sure why the mini bar is there if you have a decently good bar in the dining room as an example)

Food options were narrow and we had to eat out If you are a boutique hotel you don’t want to unpack get changed and drive to find restaurants cater for all the guests 🙏 please

Lovely relaxing place set on a hillside with great views. Room was quirky with everything you need for a great stay. We didn’t have breakfast but the room where it was served had fantastic views. Unfortunately the terrace running alongside the dining room which had great views wasn’t made available to guests during the day. Whilst we didn’t use it, there was a very well stocked mini bar. Small village but does have 2 bars and a supermarket within walking distance.

Apart from when checking out we never met any staff. Checking in was done by phone so lacked the personal service.

Hotel was beautiful, tastefully decorated with a unique taste in furnishings and decor, both very pleasing to the eye .. Plenty of parking and a very welcoming host. The bar was not available but the room fridge was well stocked with everything you could have possible wanted and all reasonably priced.

We loved the hotel and would stay again just a bit disappointed no food served in the evenings , this may have been because of the time of year as it had a beautiful dining room . There was a restaurant nearby within walking distance and no doubt others available but we were a bit disappointed with the quality of the food at the one close buy..

The location is absolutely fabulous! The design of the hotel also really beautiful

1. The breakfast is not full and complete. They will serve you the portions. 1 slice of cheese, 1 slice of jamon, 1 slice of ham, omelette. They serve fruits like its very last fruits on the planet. One strawberry cut into 4 pieces. 2. Super poor wifi. 3. They don’t speak English at all. But stuff was really nice 4. You will here each single sound through the door.

I have stayed at the hotel earlier in the year, and would return as needed... room excellent, facilities very good.. bed very comfortable, contact with staff very polite and pleasant ... location beautiful overlooking mountains and lake.

Sadly there were no staff available to ask for milk, kettle and facilities all available and everything to drink and snack on was available in the fridge, but no milk for my coffee.. Partly my fault as I was rather late arriving there was no one to ask for it. Staff were available via telephone but I would not trouble them to come out because of that.

Very nice boutique hotel. excellent rooms, the one I had included an excellent view of the lake. Limited breakfast but still worth the charge. Whilst it is in the middle of a small village it does have restaurants and shops within walking distance

The only 'moan' is the hallway being all tiles is noisy when people walk past, but this is such a minor point and does not distract from the overall experience

We very much enjoyed our restful stay at Las Orquideas. We booked the double 2 bed room with lake, mountain, and pool view and - wow! We were very pleased with the size of the room as well as the views. The beds were super comfortable, enjoying a bath in the claw tub was a very nice touch. Everything was very clean and the microwave came in handy when we wanted to enjoy leftovers from a nearby restaurant. But what made the stay truly amazing was the service provided by the hostess, Mar, who's kind smile and cheerful personality was such a delight! We enjoyed breakfast in the main room and then sat on the large balcony drinking tea. The hotel is at the top of the mountain with a windy trail so not a drive for the faint-hearted but well worth the visit especially if you want to disconnect and relax.

The drive to the location but only because we aren't used to driving such steep roads and the roads are well paved so it was a personal issue and doesn't reflect on Las Orquideas. Just something to note for other travellers.

Super warm welcome by Mar. It was our last stay in Spain and could not be more perfect for a relaxing end of a beautiful trip. Enjoyed the pool area and the hotel has a beautiful view. Our room had a bath and overlooked the mountains and lake, which was pure luxury. Breakfast was great!

We stayed around the hotel mostly for a chill end of our trip, an hour away from Malaga airport. Personally not a huge fan of the coffee, but my partner loved that too. So nothing to add here, it was great and we'd come back for sure!
