Very interesting historic house and beautiful grounds. Room was great. Breakfast was good. Nice people and service.
Breakfast did not really meet my expectations based on the glowing reviews. But I am sure many would be perfectly satisfied. There was no option to make any choices about breakfast. Yogurt with fruit and a little cake was nice, but I really don't eat sweets at breakfast. The coffee was not very strong. The little egg, potato, ham frittata/souffle was good, but not greatly flavorful, and not enough. There was no offer to have more of anything. Some type of toast made from good bread, maybe some sliced cheese, or charcuterie, would have helped fill it out. I normally eat about twice as much as was offered.

An historic bed and breakfast that has been lovingly maintained. Barb greeted us when we arrived and showed us around explaining the property. The ground floor had a impressive decor with varied areas to relax/gather and to dine (for breakfast). The second floor had a common area with large table for eating or playing games (which were available), a large refrigerator, a microwave, snacks, coffee/tea, dishes/utensils and sink. Our room was on the top floor with a comfortably appointed room and large bathroom. The room, as the rest of the house, was clean and homey. The grounds were beautiful with manicured beds of flowers, a wrap around porch, patios, and a grassy walk down to a fast flowing stream where one could sit in peace. The breakfast was delicious: fresh made and more than enough to hold us through the day. Barb was a lovely hostess and we had a delightful conversation with her and the other guests seated with us.
This is not a handicapped accessible spot. It was 3 flights up to our room and no elevator - not a problem for us, but for those who find climbing stairs it might be a challenge.

The property was gorgeous and perfect for my overnight stay. The room was charming and I felt very welcomed by the owner!!! I needed to leave before breakfast and the owner made accommodation for a muffin and fruit parfait with tea and juice…..it was a perfect start to the day. I took a moment to enjoy the creek on the property before leaving. I would stay in a heartbeat and hopefully my next visit includes a longer stay to enjoy the grounds and amenities on site more. I can’t say enough about the kindness and amazing beauty of my stay.
It was perfect…..no complaints.

It was absolutely beautiful as soon as you walk up, then you're greeted by Barb and she is the kindest hostess, knowledgeable, personable and so sweet to our kids! They have kept the history alive in the house from the architecture, binders that she has put togethe rwith the history, the stairs, to the furnishings, they have a piano as old as the house in mint condition that you're able to play. There were also several common area rooms between a library and games for families, dining room, living room, a common area kitchen with quick snacks and oh the options of coffee she had that you were able to utilize whenever. Then the room; oh my gosh. Such a sweet set up! Comfy, accommodating, it was truly a home away from home. In the morning we had the most AMAZING all home cooked breakfast; a devine fruit parfait, (HOME MADE yogurt and granola!!) HOME MADE Chocolate chunk muffins, and an amazing home made quiche!! When I tell you all of it was mouth watering!! Before leaving we also explored out back on the walking trail a beautiful seating area next to a peaceful brook. We're definitely making sure this will be where we stay our next visit to gettysburg!! Thank you so much Barb and Ken!!
There was nothing we didn't like. Wish we had more time to stay!! It definitely gave us the comforting feeling to WANT to stay!!

This is an amazing place to stay. Our room was cozy, and a great value for the money. We could have had more luxurious digs (we got a queen bed and splurged to get the Jacuzzi bath for $10 extra). It's a beautiful house dating from the early 20th century, American Chestnut paneling, lots of rich public spaces. But what really made our stay stand out was Barb, our hostess. She cooked an amazing breakfast, and while we ate, she talked with us and all the guests. It was a lovely, communal time (guests can opt out of the conversation if you want). AND they have a Steinway grand piano from 1910 that she'll let you play (sounds great! not the best Steinway I've heard, but still!).
The bed was a bit on the firm side for us, but probably not for many others (so no deduction in points). The real thing I don't like is that Barb is talking about retiring and selling the place to someone else. It might be in different hands the next time we get to stay in it! Nooooooo...(hope the next hosts will be as gracious).

Barb and Ken’s inn is absolutely fabulous, top-notch among the many, many B&Bs we have stayed in. Beautiful grounds and interior, convenient snack room and frig, the lightest most delicious quiche and lemon pound cake we’ve ever had, a beautiful room with a beautiful view even from the large bathroom, and, a special treat for me - playing their fabulous 1901 Steinway, with beautiful tone and very nice action. I wish I had had the time to play for many more hours!
It was a superb stay on all accounts. I only wish we could have stayed more nights. Next time we stop here on our way from CT to VA, we want to walk on that little nature trail behind the house. And yes, play the piano again!

The location was beautiful. The house is set in well-maintained grounds and is the views from the windows are picturesque. The neighborhood is upscale and the properties are lovely. Breakfast was appetizing and filling. Barb served a tasty frittata covered with fruit. Also, the yogurt was delicious - made on the premises. I enjoyed speaking with Barb and Ken regarding their backgrounds and how they met. Such lovely, gracious hosts.
We had supper at the Dobbins House in Gettysburg - amazing food there - and enjoyed the colonial atmosphere. The servings were appetizing but large, so I brought part of my dinner back to the Inn. There is a common room where guests can gather, have coffee, tea and play games and also refrigerator in which to put various items that need to be kept cold. I put my leftovers in the fridge, but when I opened the door to the refrigerator - it was empty. The juice that was in there the night before and any other items were gone, including my "doggie bag". I was shocked to think that another guest[s] had taken my dinner, but I never reported it to Barb or Ken.

The homemade breakfast was incredible. Everything was made from scratch and they provided a special blend of coffee available only at the Inn. It was like staying overnight in a museum, but being able to enjoy the trappings as if we lived there. We will be returning in the future and would encourage anyone to book a room if traveling through the area. In addition to the clean and neat rooms, the grounds are beautifully groomed with a nice walking trail that has to be enjoyed.

Beautiful, peaceful property Gorgeous old building that is very well maintained The breakfast was wonderful Barb is a fantastic hostess, makes you feel welcome and at home
Dish TV did not work There was no apparent way to reach the innkeepers after check-in if you needed them Upper floor room has slanted ceiling that makes it very easy to hit your head if not careful

The breakfast was delicious. Barb was an excellent host and cook. Everything was homemade! We also enjoyed conversations with fellow travelers.
Our room needed a stand/table by the washbasin. Barb provided one so we had a place to put toiletries.
