Like so many other reviewers here, what stands out is how welcoming and friendly our hosts were. We felt like we'd arrived to stay with non-intrusive family members from the first minute. There are no pretensions of luxury or grandeur here - if you're looking for a deeply peaceful, non-glitzy beachfront venue to unwind, you have found it. The glorious sand beach is on your doorstep, there is a great pool (particularly for young kids), but you won't need it. The taverna is cheap, delicious, traditional and simple, with awesome specials most days - and you'll eat your dinners to spectacular sunsets every day. The rooms are basic, but have everything you need to relax in and prepare your own food (decent sized fridge, toaster, microwave, plug-in hob etc). Rooms have great AC and are cleaned most days.

We could have done with more clothes storage in the rooms, but really, I can't complain. We'd probably take more hangers and hooks with us next time.

I really recommend Stavros Villas - great location by the beach, very good restaurant with local dishes and others overviewing the sea, friendly hosts who will make your stay as pleasant as possible. There are sunbeds and umbrellas available at the beach, supermarkets are within walking distance, it is also a good spot for sightseeing as it's close to Chania and other tourist attractions. It was my second stay at Stavros and I am definitely coming back there.

The place was perfect and I will be back for sure. The location was great, very quiet. The host's professionalism and kind manners will stay in your memory forever. Breakfast was good, please do not expect a massive buffet, but it is acceptable to start your day. The rooms are comfortable. The pool looks great, we did not use it because the beach is literally attached to the hotel. There are many places to eat around (within walking distance), and you can also rent bikes very close to the hotel. Enough parking space if you are driving. Amazing place.

Very nice familiar environment provided by the staff. The location is great, a lot of nice restaurants around. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped. Very good breakfast, the beach where it’s located is very nice for a bath at the end of the day.

Nothing to highlight

Stavros is placed almost on the country side, a stone through from the pleasant beach. View from restaurant is magnificent, sundown over the ridge. Very good food served with a smile. Breakfast is delicious and good nutrition fore a days happenings. Nice gardening and well kept older apartments. Bus connection to main cities is excellent and easy to use .

Great location, great breakfast, great swimming pool available until 22 p.m., sunbeds and parasol on the beach is free of charge, walking distance to market and restaurants, good restaurant on site, we were dining there for 3 times, it was good, friendly stuff

We only got one key to the apartment which was not enough. The electrical power is connected to the key card in the holder. Quite an old equipment.

Everything was amazing, the hosts treated us as part of their family, they helped with renting a car, with recommendations for all our trips, the beach is just next to the villas, the pool was always clean and the food was amazing. Getting to other cities is quite easy by bus and Gerani offers many great places as well. The hosts randomly celebrated my birthday and we basically felt at the end of this trip that we have a new whole Cretan family to visit each year from now on.

Stavros is a family-run place filled with joy and happiness. Owners and staff members are extremely friendly and helpful. George became our friend. Place is at the beach, very private and secluded, clean and carefully maintained with nice plants and palms. We had a big apartment with two bathrooms. We went with three kids, 21, 14 and 9, they all had a good time. It is good to be positioned here if you want to visit the best beaches: Elafonissi, Balos and Falasarna and of course, you need a car. People at Stavros can help you with all the things you need. We highly recommend this place for relaxing family vacation. We would like to come back.

A nice apartment, spacious and close to the beach and pool. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Would stay again.

The apartment did't have a TV which wasn't a problem for me, but might annoy other people. In this day and age each apartment should really have wifi, rather than it only being available at the reception and pool area.
