No breakfast included as expected. Property was a 7 minute drive to Huntsville where there were shops and places to eat and a 30 minute drive to the West Gate of Algonquin park. Lake could be accessed from property for canoeing etc. Canoes etc were available to use free of charge.

Our room had a corner bath with shower attachment which wasn’t great. Difficult to get an ideal water temperature and water tended to go all over the bathroom. Clearly other guests must have had the same experience as flooring in bathroom had lifted in places. Also plug sockets near the mirror in bedroom would be preferred and USB charging points. Leaflets in hotel claimed that it was a “boutique hotel” but we felt that this really wasn’t the case given overall finishes.

The lakehouse was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated with large windows offering amazing lake views. The quiet surroundings and easy access to the water made it a perfect place to relax. We also enjoyed the cozy seating areas inside and outside.

We noticed some mosquito marks and insect remains on the wall, which would be better if cleaned before guests move in. The washing machine‘s room light wasn’t working, and a few appliances could benefit from maintenance. Additionally, footsteps from the upstairs area were quite noticeable at night and sometimes woke us up.

Beautiful setting on the edge of Fairy Lake. Very large room, with views over the lake, decorated beautifully and exceptionally clean. Added touches like chocolates , snacks and coffee. Free use of canoes and BBQ and lots of outdoor seating. 5 mins drive to town. Only 40 mins drive to Alonquin National Park and 2.5 hours to Toronto Very relaxing lovely place. If I visit this part of Canada again I would not hesitate to stay here. Thank you for a truly lovely stay

There was nothing I didn't like. Unfortunately we did not get to meet the host.

We stayed in the executive suite. It was quite large with a beautiful view. The kitchen and living area were both expansive with everything you might need including a wood fireplace which we took advantage of. The Kitchen is well socked with everything you might need including a large wine fridge. The bedroom was large and comfortable with large windows and also a great view of the lake. The bathroom was also large with heated floor, defogging/steaming mirror and a large shower. The owner/operators of the facility were very friendly and engaging. They provided assistance promptly when needed. Hiking in Arrowhead Provincial Park was amazing.

Some of the Pots and Pans are dated and need to be properly maintained or replaced. Handle and lid screws required tightening as did some of the bathroom drawer knobs. Simple things to do and check to improve the quality of a stay.

We regret not staying more nights in this perfect place! Pictures don’t lie, the place is really wonderful, surrounded by the woods, in front of the Fairy Lake. The sunset on the lake is amazing ! Everything is prepared for you to have a comfortable stay (recommendations for activities and food, tea, coffee, snacks…). The angle room with the two windows was amazing, there was even a jacuzzi in the bathroom. The bed is very comfortable, we have slept very well. Wish we may come back soon !

We had an unforgettable stay at Fairy Bay Lakehouse in Huntsville! The location is absolutely stunning, offering serene lake views and a peaceful atmosphere. The accommodations were spotless and comfortable, providing everything we needed for a perfect getaway. A special thanks to Amit for his exceptional hospitality. He went above and beyond to accommodate our requests and was incredibly kind and attentive throughout our stay. The room and bed were comfortable, the bar fridge was a good size and the decor and artwork were lovely. The linens were of good quality. The grounds were clean & well kept. Muskoka chairs were good quality as was BBQ.

There were crank windows in our room & the dining area without the cranks so the windows couldn't be opened for fresh air. We found a sock on the floor that wasn't ours which made us wonder if the floor was swept between room rentals. The bathroom was painted a deep glossy brown, which felt dungeon-y.

We went for the more expensive option as we wanted a kitchen and washing facilities since we have a baby with us. The pictures don't do this place justice, we had a huge bedroom with the biggest bed I've ever seen, shower room, massive family kitchen, 8 person dining table and sitting area all to ourselves. The view of the lake is beautiful. You can help yourself to canoes, kayak and the SUP, there are also some floaties for kids and you can swim in the lake. There are BBQs and fire pits and a kids playground. If you go for the cheaper rooms then you get an ensuite and large bedroom but you share communal sitting area, dining area and small kitchenette (no stove just microwave and fridge freezer) so BBQ is your best option in summer. There are no clothes washing facilities for the cheaper rooms but there is a launderette nearby. The area is lovely, Huntsville is a lovely town which shops and restaurants, there is a metro supermarket close. You can easily drive to arrowhead or Algonquin provincial parks. The staff are lovely, super helpful and friendly.

The kitchen could do with a few bits and bobs and extra cleaning equipment such as washing liquid, broom, cheese grater etc. The floor got a bit dusty from the balcony door and we didn't have any way to clean it ourselves and they don't do turn down service so it just stayed a bit dirty the whole time but that's a very small issue. Beware if you come in summer there are a few mosquitoes and biting black fly....but no where as many as in the parks if you were camping so just be prepared for nature if you stay somewhere in nature.

Absolutely wonderful lake house experience! The house is beautiful and sits right on the lake with direct water access. Guests can enjoy complimentary use of a canoe, kayak, stand-up paddleboard, and more—perfect for making the most of the stunning surroundings. It’s also an ideal base for exploring Algonquin Park. The manager is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this Lake House getaway!

Loved the private beach and kids' play area. Loved sitting at the beach in the early morning. Very serene and peaceful. There was a lounge for everyone to use for eating which was nice too. Owners provided slippers for everyone to use so floors would remain clean.

Our apartment was in the basement. We didn't realize this when booking. There wasn't a lot of room for kids to play in the room. The boats provided were a bit unsafe to use, as we saw other guests using and they kept falling in the shallow water. Would be nice to have assistance and onsite lifeguard.
