Great location, in the quiet and charming town of Las Caldas, surrounded by mountains and hiking paths, but also close to Oviedo (main city in the area), with a bus stop just by the hotel and merely a 20 minute ride from the city. Perfect combination of peace and nature to decompress and relax, with accessibility to a bigger town, airport, train station, etc. Beautiful buildings for this complex, keeping part of the original architecture. Big facilities with pretty much everything you might need. Gardens around the buildings are fantastic for a peaceful walk and events can be hosted there. Outstanding gym with all sorts of stations, weights, cardio equipment, etc. One of the best assets of this place. Spa is really good. Jacuzzis, two saunas (90 and 70 degrees celsius), Turkish bath, hot-cold pools, etc. Health and wellness center offers lots of options in terms of treatments, massages, etc. Interior and exterior swimming pools. Most of the spa is accessible only by booking in advance, so doesn't get crowded. It has two restaurants (one a bit more upscale, the other one a more regular one) and a cafeteria. Tried the "upscale" one and found pretty good food and service. Breakfast buffet was really complete and good quality, in a beautiful space called "Mirrors room". Cafeteria works well for a snack and has a good menu to eat outside restaurant hours. It has two main lounges with plenty of seating for gatherings, reading or to play pool. All the different buildings in the complex are well connected by corridors and an over-road bridge, short walks from one area to the other. The suite is spacious, comfy and had nice views to a hill just by the hotel. Good AC in the room. Ok amenities. Extra ones on demand. Good bathroom, well equipped.

- Room was fairly outdated. Old and stained sofa, old tables and chairs. Comfy enough but not in good shape and with clear signs of some of the fun previous guests had... It was the only thing that didn't feel like the type of hotel you were booking there. - Empty mini-bar, just water in there. Nespresso-type coffee machine in the room but once I used it I never got more capsules for another day. - No ventilation in the corridors, really hot in there some days. Thin walls, you could hear your neighbours loud and clear at times. - Breakfast had to be book in advance. Not a problem for an early bird like myself, but having to set a time to wake up and have breakfast doesn't necessarily mesh well with the relax and disconnection from routine and stress you look for in a hotel like that.

The old part of the hotel has been very nicely refurbished and the spas (both Manatial and Aquaxana) are both worth visiting. The staff is very nice and helpful. The breakfast is served in a beautiful room and all the food and drinks served are of very high quality, which makes overall the experience a 5-star one.

It is a pity that people enter in the saunas with plastic slippers, instead of leaving them outside. When checking in, we were not informed about an activity organised by the hotel, consisting in a guided trekking in the surrounding of Las Caldas, which we then missed. The hairdryer was very weak and not up to a 5 star hotel.

This is my favourite place in Oviedo. I have aready stayed there several times and I enjoyed each stay. The quietness and the decent luxury there are amazing. The old spa is my favourite of the bathing options available. Great breakfast, friendly personnel. I look forward to my next stay.

Access to the Balenario Real Spa was easy and we loved our hours spent in the various oils, saunas etc. The food was good and breakfast room beautiful witness good options.

Finding reception was very confusing and there were not good instructions about arrival.

Nice (big and modern) spa facilities and yet they have managed to keep some old architectural gems intact. Breakfast and room service offered plenty of tasty options.

Spa and Balneario were amazing. Same with the massage treatments. Bed super comfortable and the staff really kind and helpful.

Breakfast should be healthier, there is not much fruit options, and also the bread and bakery was processed instead of homemade.

Great stay. Location is very chill and secluded. Restaurant and food options were pretty good. Rooms comfortable and the SPA is very nice.

Staff is very friendly but doesn't speak English, bit of a challenge therefore for foreigners
