Golden sands is located on the beachfront, ideal for morning walks. Extra large bed was a total winner for me, so spacious. Management were kind enough to organise a coffee plunger for the room which I really appreciated, thankyou. We were pool facing, really gorgeous to wake up to with tropical trees and the pool. Resort is very quiet, guests keep to themselves. Yorkeys knob is a quiet village, however situated close to palm cove for eating out. Also positioned between cairns and the daintree which is handy if you are sight seeing.

I would of liked an additional set of shower towel’s however Im not complaining!

We stayed 9 nights and would have liked to stay longer. Excellent value, quiet location and short walk to the beach, lovely well cared for tropical garden around pool, lift to room level from undercover car park, spacious comfortable apartment with large balcony overlooking the garden, warm reception from Carl & Mandy. Definitely recommend and would stay again.

Can't really find anything to complain about, it met our needs except it being Christmas we would liked to have had a proper oven, but a microwave is the available option. No dishwasher, but then again certainly not a critical need.

This is a great spot for families with a car visiting the Cairns area. This hotel has a lovely heated pool, walking distance to an amazing playground. To the beach and to some shops for essentials. (The shops aren't that great but can get the basics) The beach is right outside as well, with a big path to enjoy a walk.

The kitchen didn't have an oven and no BBQs so cooking was limited to microwave, stove, toaster and kettle. The washing machine and dryer were handy but could use a refresh as the dryer was slow.

We loved our accommodation, it had everything we needed. The balcony area was a great size to relax, and the inside was very spacious. The bed was so comfy. The location was quiet and convenient, we watched the sunrise every morning on the beach and then went for a long walk. We swam in June in the heated pool and had a hit of tennis. The hosts were very helpful, and having the restaurant on site very convient. Well worth the stay, loved it.

Our apartment was lovely, although the 'pool view' was rather limited from our balcony... Clean and spacious though. Bed was nice and comfortable and the shower and water pressure were great! Fantastic kitchen. Breakfast was fantastic at Hidden @ Yorkeys restaurant, and the staff were lovely.

Might have been a little more comfortable with air conditioning in the room or more centralised, (only due to the humidity and trying to adjust for people not accustomed).

Location - close to the airport, Cairns and main activities in the North, at the same time Yorkey's Knob is very calm and nice area to spend relaxing time, green and quiet terrace, nice, warm and not busy pool, helpful staff. Kids were happy to find Netflix on the TV. I was happy to find everything what's needed for cooking in the kitchen.

Curtains, they just didn't provide enough privacy, light from the front door didn't make the room completely dark at night.

The apartment is so spacious and the tropical view is stunning! The location is so peaceful and quiet. The swimming pool is gorgeous, we felt like we were in a tropical oasis. Carl and Mandy were so lovely and welcoming. The apartment is very clean and had everything we needed.

It would have been nice to have some essentials in the kitchen such as salt/pepper and olive oil. It would also be nice to add a full length mirror as the only mirror in the apartment was in the bathroom.

Very nice, clean unit with all the things we needed. Amazing restaurant and pool right there on the property. Wonderful host, Mandy, welcomed us and was very accommodating for early check in and late check out when we needed it due to our infant son's schedule and a late flight out! We really appreciated all they did for us. Thank you!

In many ways a typical place for the string of coastal villages from Cairns to Port Douglas, but the Golden Sands was notable for excellent cleanliness and maintenance. It's in a side street of a side street of perhaps the quietest town on the strip, so very quiet indeed. There is some airplane noise, which I didn't really notice. The beach is accessible via the ocean front reserve out the property's back gate. There is an adjacent restaurant which does a good breakfast/lunch and Sunday brunch with live music and $1 oysters. Communication with management was very good. Parking a bit snug but easily accessible and covered. This is an excellent no-hassles place from which to explore the region.

The pool is more ornamental than functional, but like the rest of the property clean. Plus you can stroll to the beach for a considerably larger pool. There isn't a lot to do in Yorkey's Knob (which is why we picked it), but it's a 15 minute drive to Cairns if you want to see the big(ish) city.
