We rented 3 rooms in total. 2 hotel style rooms and one 1 bedroom with a kitchen in it. The pools, room service, and bar were all great. Location was good for exploring little shops and restaurants nearby. It was quiet and a beautiful tropical setting. It was apparent when we checked in that 2 of them were likely owned by the same person because of decor etc. The 3rd room was decorated a bit odd and smelled a tad musty.

The mattresses were so bad we could feel the springs. I also did not like the creepy shower shows whenever someone takes a shower it's behind a frosted piece of glass so do not share a room with anyone if you don't want to watch them take a shower. Bring an eye mask.

On arrival the reception staff member was very friendly and helpful. We were celebrating Mother's Day and there was a lovely bottle of chilled sparkling wine waiting in our room on our arrival. The room was clean, modern and comfortable. The pool area was fantastic, and a la carte breakfast at the restaurant was delicious - the best breakfast we had during our entire time in Far North Queensland. Great location, easy to walk to beach and restaurants.

I had hoped the spa bath would have been bigger - it was a standard bath size. Reception wasn't staffed 24 hours, either in person or on the phone. On multiple occasions I tried to call reception during business hours and there was no answer.

The quality of the apartment exceeded our expectations and was extremely spacious and everything had been cleaned very thoroughly before we arrived (including the roof terrace). The roof top terrace was awesome and had a BBQ, sink, fridge, sun lounges - a lot more than just the spa we were expecting. The staff were very helpful and accommodating but overall there seemed to be a shortage of staff. The pool was great and the water lovely and warm and we always seemed to be able to get sun lounges. Extra pool towels were freely available from reception. The resort was only a short walk into the main part of Palm Cove. The resort was very relaxed and family friendly.

The quality of the cocktails from the pool bar were inconsistent - the ones during happy hour never seemed to be as good for some reason. The restaurant was closed on 2 of the nights we were there - luckily room service was still available. We cooked one of the nights we were there and found that the kitchen lacked a number of things we needed (oven mitts, a wooden spoon to stir things in the frypan, scissors).

- Only the flagship restaurant was open for dinner. The food was great, but expensive and with a limited menu, and not something that we wanted to eat every night. Some everyday food was also available from the Lagoon Bar, but only until 5:30pm. Later in the stay, this end time was changed to even earlier at 5:00pm. Five star properties should offer a broader range of eating options. - The property seemed tired and in need of some maintenance and refurbishment. - Our room was just above the main restaurant. The view was marred by the restaurant roof. We had to keep the balcony door closed in the evening to reduce the noise - The internet was unreliable in the evening, and effectively stopped on Saturday and Sunday night.

Room below explanation :: Pool facilities were excellent , spa was beautiful and warm , pool was excellent & clean Breakfast was ok , bacon was very dry , tough to eat , omelets every morning were excellent , variety of fruits, cereals , excellent , baked beans were also very dry , the best most notable is whoever you have making the morning coffees its the best ive tasted excellent coffee lattes are superb 'all in all overall pretty good 7/10

Upon our arrival, the room we received was not as advertised. Consequently, we were accommodated in a self-contained room which was excellent and provided without any fuss. Although I had to pay an additional $150, I didn't mind. However, it was not our fault that the advertisement was incorrectly."

This place was good, the beds were so big and comfy, it was big, clean (other than a weird smell in our room but we knew it was because of being near the ocean and staff came to help sort it), there was a spa bath, facilities were good, great pool area. Fantastic location.

Smell in the room and some damage to parts of the room from them being older but that’s fine. Staff came up and helped manage the smell in the room.

1.4% credit surcharge on several thousand dollars is inexcusable and greedy. How do you substantiate this? Maintenance man left his shift when his repair of our door lock was incomplete. Thankfully the reception staff member left the front desk to reprogram the lock and provide us new keys

Both restaurants are excellent. Staff were terrific, location suited us.

The WIFI is disgraceful, clearly an old system. It needs an investment urgently. My wife & I run our own businesses and need WIFI wherever we go. Coupled with unsatisfactory WIFI and hopeless Telstra phone signal, it made it very difficult for us to do what we needed to do. On several days the WIFI signal kicked us out of the system up to a dozen times. That also impacted on TV viewing because the signal was distorted. Our unit's furniture was almost too uncomfortable to sit on. Old and lumpy couches and chairs, tired, scratched and outdated furniture. I emailed the manager for polite feedback however she hasn't bothered to answer me.

Overall resort and pool is beautiful. The room size of one bedroom was great. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food at pool bar and restuarant was delicious buffet breakfast wasnt good.

Needed more staff working at the pool bar. We had to wait in lines to get a drink during lunch etc each day. The buffet breakfast wasnt great either. We had it the first day but didnt go back. Breakfast was overpriced and not great tasting. Coffee took forever and served once we had finished and were paying at end. No water heat in showers and had to ask twice to have it fixed.

Parents not controlling their children in the LAP pool - running, jumping, splashing, screaming. Kids just want to have fun but so do other paying guests. Children should have kept to kids pool or general pool.
