Billy greeted us cheerfully and helpfully in spite of our need to arrive very late. Appreciated his friendliness! Lovely breakfast in spite of load shedding.

They have heaters in the rooms, it was a very cold, cloudy weekend. We experienced power failure on the Saturday & they had backup power do that we could be comfortable. A very quiet & tranquil area that the ones who love peace and quietness would love staying there. We had s scrumptious breakfast in that cold day.

That we went to breakfast, they had a fire 🔥 place prepared but was not lit to keep the dining area warm.

Cleanliness,the staff also responded effectively when ever we wanted something,the location of the place was easy to find and looks like a very safe area and quiet which i enjoyed very much. I was surprised even our neighbors(guests next to our room)were so great they even offered to take us pictures in the morning but we didn't know each other,it was so amazing

Crisp clean linen and fantastic breakfast. They were also very accommodating by allowing us to store our luggage there in the morning when we checked out early to attend a sport event.

We prefer a hard firm mattress due to back issues. Some mattresses in the rooms were on the softer side of the spectrum - just not our personal taste

We only stayed for 1 night as a stopover between Johannesburg airport and Kruger. We arrived quite late in the evening but were made very welcome by the owner. He made us a lovely meal on arrival and we had a delicious cooked breakfast before we left the next day. We had a deluxe twin room and it was very comfortable. We didn’t use the pool but it looked very pretty.

The gables is a great option for solo travelers. It is safe, the staff is super sweet and the location is great. Very close to town and easily accessible. I would definitely go back.

The Gables is a nice place to stay. The owner is going out of his way to make sure that guests are happy. The breakfast is really good and can be recommended. I will be back

Billy was a very friendly host. It was the perfect start of our 3-week trip in South-Africa. After a long flight it was the ideal place to rest. Billy even made us last-minute pizzas.

It was a bit cold in the breakfast room but Billy put on a cosy fire.

The property is lovely, the rooms were very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very good and prepared beautifully. Wilmie is an excellent hostess - we had some problems with our rental car and she sorted repairs out for us in no time so we could still make our flight that day! Very helpful and kind. Thank you!
