Our second visit to this lovely property prompted by a wedding in nearby Bordeaux. It’s in a quiet location which suits us very well though you do need a car to explore. Our room was a family room, clean and comfortable with a large shower and a choice of large double or twin beds. Breakfast was included which was excellent and as before we were joined by our hosts Phillipe and Celine who chatted with us during the meal. The property has a heated swimming pool which is a real bonus in warm weather and one of the main reasons we chose it.

This place is outstanding! The location is stunning. Hosts are so accommodating and interesting. You feel like you are part of the family and at ease in the location almost immediately. The views are amazing and the place is so tranquil that you leave feeling de-stressed. Rooms have a fabulous finish and the breakfast consists of homemade and local delicacies. We cannot recommend highly enough.

Le Vallon de Guerry is a little piece of paradise! When you drive up, you see a nice but unassuming farmhouse with some outbuildings. However, the 'gite' which is in an outbuilding was magnificently done up inside. Modern, tastefully decorated rooms with plenty of space and breathtaking views of the countryside, with horses and a little donkey too! The spa facilities included an outdoor swimming pool, a six-person jacuzzi/hot tub, a sauna and lots of deck space with comfy chairs to lounge in and to soak in the views. Apparently, Celine, the owner is also a massage therapist and we could book a massage if we wanted in the lovely spa building which also has lovely views on the decking, pool and hot tub. We had access to the huge kitchen and indoor and outdoor living areas which we used and were very pleased with. The breakfast was plentiful, and Celine and her family were incredibly warm and welcoming despite being very busy with issues they had to deal with on their farm. We travelled as two families with one child each and were offered three rooms (one for the kids) which was also a real treat. And then there was also Lupin, their gorgeous and friendly dog! We will definitely be back and would highly recommend this property.

I wouldn’t have been able to find a fault with the gite even if I tried. It’s the perfect experience of the French countryside. It’s luxurious and convenient.

A lovely place to stay, highly recommend! So tastefully decorated and clean. The hosts were amazing.

Breakfast was excellent, particularly the cured pork from Phillips’s home reared black pigs! Also Phillipe and Celine are excellent hosts taking the time to sit with us at breakfast to chat 😊
