Hotel is very nicely designed, rooms are spacious and staff is super nice! We enjoyed our stay so much! Rooms are big and you have proper bathroom space and sleeping area. Smart TV that connects to Netflix etc was very nice and amenities are from nice brands (etro shampoo, gel and body cream for example)😍 Swimming pool is proper one and ideal to spend a day if you don’t feel like going out. A lot of sunbeds which always was enough for everyone. We had all our lunches here and even once a dinner - food is in the fine dining level and very nicely served that you enjoy every bit of it. Staff - all of them were very nice and helpful even they prepared for us a to go box of breakfast as our flight was very early which is an amazing gesture! 😊 Parking in hotels designated parking is free. From hotel to historical site is approximately 15-20 min by walking and around hotel there are a lot of shops, pharmacies, etc. I can safely say that this is one of the best hotels we stayed in Italy and highly recommend it! 🙂‍↔️😊♥️

The hotel, as a converted Pasta factory, is huge with lots of open space. The pool is equally huge and a big reason for us staying here. It was 40 degrees C on our first day, so the pool and excellent aircon was a must. We did not eat dinner at the hotel, but we enjoyed the light lunch each day - which was delicious - and the included breakfast was very good too. Service was excellent. The staff were all super-lovely and helpful. It is a little way out of the tourist old town Matera, but the concierge called us a taxi whenever we wanted to head into the old town (approx €12) and we walked back (20 mins) when it was cooler after dinner. You wouldnt get the space or pool in any hotel in the old town. There was also ample free parking and the motorway is just 3 minutes from the hotel (5 mins direct to Bari). So the location suited us fine. I would definitely recommend Alvino Relais Mulino to other travellers

We absolutely loved everything about this beautiful place and will highly recommend it. All the staff were wonderful, professional, and very helpful, especially Ali, who welcomed us and made us feel at home. The food was delicious for lunch, dinner, and breakfast, and the place was very clean with beautiful decor. The spa was amazing. We especially enjoyed the fresh pastries and coffee at the daily breakfast. The bed was incredibly comfortable - it felt like sleeping on a cloud. We also loved the pool; the water was super clean and the deckchairs were perfect for relaxing, and super comfy. We will be back for sure😊

The hotel design is simply stunning! Lots of airy large spaces. Decor is too a very high standard. Our room was enormous and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. We would have loved to have stayed longer and would absolutely recommend this hotel!

It is a bit of a walk into Matera but was easy enough. The food and drink was slightly on the pricier side but it was fine given it felt like a luxury hotel.

This is a beautiful and chic hotel and spa. It is a restored historic mill. The hotel was still getting ready for the high season when we were there. Once the new fountains, terrace and swimming pool are up and working it will be absolutely terrific. A spa treatment is included in the reservation. The rooms are very nice, beds so comfortable I had the best nights sleep of my whole vacation in Basilicata and Puglia. It is only a 15-20 minute walk to the old town of Matera, and a 5 minute drive to the Belvedere Murgia Timone where you have a wonderful view of the Sassi and the ravine. The hotel has on-site parking which is very important to us; the staff is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, and it has a state-of-the-art restaurant serving haute cuisine by a recognized chef. This is was the most memorable and best hotel we stayed in during our time in Italy, and we plan to return in the near future. A “must stay” during your visit to Matera.

While the hotel was a fair walk from the historical centre, the extra space in the rooms and bathrooms made the hotel well suited for a stay in Matera. The staff were excellent and extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The breakfast was very good and the cleanliness of the rooms was noticeable. We have travelled widely throughout Europe and this was one of our better experiences.

The distance from the old town was about the only negative.

Brand new look,everything is working,stilish newly decorated industrial building of the end of 19 century with huge halls,thick walls and high ceilings.Very spacious inside,with only 20 rooms.I would have given 5 stars to this hotel.All soft drinks in the bar in the room were complimentory,which is rare in Italy...Free parking is also very convenient...

Big room, comfortable bed , beautiful swimming pool and the staff were wonderful and kind . I huge thank you to Valentina from the front desk who always helped me and responded to my messages . We got a couple massage and face hydralift. we loved the privacy and Ana who was very kind .

The hotel is spectacular. The pool is magnificent. The sunbeds are extremely comfortable, pool towels are so fluffy. The breakfast offers a wide variety of food. The desserts are handmade and delicious .Our room was beautiful - opulence is the word I'd use to reflect the decor, the linen, the toiletries.

The hotel was wonderful, we had a fantastic spacious room which was super comfy. The staff were so friendly and were keen to help recommend the best things to do in the area. We had a delicious lunch and would highly recommend eating in the restaurant. It's about a 15 minute walk to the main piazza where the Sassi area begins and has parking included.
