Amazing stay! The room exceeded our expectations. Check-in was fast and easy, and the instructions about parking, room amenities, and local recommendations were clear and extremely helpful. The bathtub was exceptional, and the bed was spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly and attentive, making our stay enjoyable. The location of the rooms is perfect – right between the new and old city, allowing you to easily explore both while also having the convenience of parking your car close by. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

If I were to offer any suggestions, it would be for a larger and smart TV and perhaps a sofa. However, this definitely doesn't change my overall opinion – we had an amazing time and would happily return!

Paolo our host took his time to meet us at 2 PM, even though their office is close from 1PM - 3PM. Took the time to show us our room, gave us a map of the city and recommended the must see places. The location was perfect as it was a few steps away from the start of the historical side of the City. It is also a few steps away from the start of old town. There is someone at the office to assist you. Thank you Paolo you made our stay in Matera more enjoyable.

None the room was ery clean and spacious and nicely decorated with a modern flair. Although it isnt a true cave room but the motiff is cave like with a domed ceiling. Every little detail was thought off. Free coffee and tea and water. We are very happy with our accommodation and parking was easy.

My girlfriend and I went on a short trip to Matera and honestly the room was one of the highlights of the trip. We had the one with the bath that was in the room and it really added a romantic feel to the whole room. Position is next to sassi ( literally) and as such a super good location ( also super close to 900 and materami - both super good restaurants). Finally, the staff was incredibly nice and helpful and they really helped this stay be as good as it was.

Only thing is that you are not IN the sassi region of Matera but rather NEXT to it. However this is mostly mitigated by the fact that you would be staying 1min walk away from the start of the tourist path around sassi and 5min away from sassi center.

Lovely stone room with a high ceiling which kept cool even in the very hot summer. The air con was also very good. The city gets really hot so having a good place to relax at the heat of the day was essential. We paid extra for the bath and enjoyed it. On arrival we were given a very comprehensive description of where to go and what to do in the city by the staff. We followed these tips and had a great time.

If you are friends sharing the room with bath perhaps wouldn’t be the best as it’s very open plan. The toilet is around a corner but technically in the same room so something to consider if you’re shy.

We had an excellent stay at this hotel! It was incredibly clean and well-maintained, offering a comfortable environment throughout. The location is fantastic, just a short walk from the historic center of Matera, making it very convenient for sightseeing. The staff were incredibly helpful and polite, always available to assist with any requests or questions I had. Their attention to detail really made a difference during my stay. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Matera – you won't be disappointed!

- may be difficult to find parking, we were lucky to find a lot 3 mins away on the block behind, but didn't dare to drive off in case we couldnt find another - bed was not comfy - too soft and it sinks in + all in all still an amazing experience in this beautiful town of Matera!

The room we stayed in was spacious, comfortable, and clean and had everything we needed for our stay in Matera. The location was excellent with a few mins walk into the old town and from there a further walk into the Sassi of Matera. Paolo was also a wonderful host and gave us lots of recommendations of what to see and do in Matera and was very responsive to any communications - we were also arriving earlier than check in and Paolo was able to make our room available earlier which was super appreciated. We had a great stay and would recommend Hydria to anyone going to Matera.

Beautiful accommodation in traditional style so close to the sassi. Could not believe we were so close to the old town, and some great restaurants. Room was really spacious. Would definitely come back.

Parking is a bit tight on the narrow streets, but metered spaces are easy to find in the vicinity, only 8 euro per day. There are large car parks a short walk away. At night you may find a space right outside the apartment block, we parked nearby for a few hours then parked right outside..

From beginning to end the accomodation and service (of Bibiana) was perfect! It started with the very clear and good communication upon arriving. At the reception Bibiana received us very friendly and helpful, explaining us about the accomodation but also about the city, what to do Nd where to go. The room was very clean and everything we hoped for. Beautiful room with a nice big bath and a waterfall shower! “Alexa” the music system was a great bonus, playing whatever music you prefer. During the second day the room was cleaned very well (before cleaning again good communication: whatsapp text if we wanted the room to be cleaned and when). Thanks for the great experience 🙏🏻

The check in was very friendly and the staff helpful with the map and hand guide offered. The room was beautiful and well equipped. Our favorite was by far the shower - it was delightful. It was also lovely that they refilled our cookies, water, and coffee that they offer for now extra charge.

Honestly? Nothing. There’s no breakfast but there are so many wonderful options around anyway. Can’t think of anything else.
