The location of the hotel is perfect on the border of old and new town, the parking is private and safe. The hotel staff meet you with a smile, provide recommendations, the best service and communication from the minute you come in, helping with parking and other small things or requests. The room is clean and comfortable with a postcard view of old town. The breakfast is delicious with freshly squeezed juices, fruits, jogurts, croissants, meats, cheeses, and eggs made for your taste.

We had a wonderful stay! The view was beautiful, and the owner and staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and well-prepared. Although parking came at an additional cost, it was a relief to have it available given how challenging parking can be in the area. The property was clean, well-maintained, and professionally run. We also appreciated the helpful recommendation on where to spend time in Matera. Highly recommended for families.

Really wonderful staff, rooms were really well designed, clean, comfortable. Lovely breakfast, very close to Sassi as well. It was handy they had a carpark nearby too.

Because of our group, we were in the family rooms, which were really good and suited us. However they don't have the hot tub or a view over the Sassi so just to bear that in mind.

Antonia was very helpful sorting out parking and details for check-in. She kindly talked us through the area on arrival and recommended places to go to in the evening. The room was very comfortable and the spa bath and shower were very luxurious. Antonia even insisted we have breakfast even though it was just finishing as we came to check out she talked us through all the options and made special effort for my wife who is allergic to dairy and gluten. Really wonderful service!! and the view of the Sassi is incredible.

We stayed in one of the luxury rooms. We chose it not for the jacuzzi but for the view: the entrance of the room is in one of the village alley, but then you open the balcony door and you are at the edge of the world. Due to this position, I can imagine that this room is very quiet even in the main tourist season. We visited Matera in November, there where a few people but it was very enjoyable. Excellent breakfast and kind, welcoming staff. Recommended.

I really liked this place! The rooms are large, very clean and modern design furnished, the breakfast was buffet type with quality products to choose from! The staff was very friendly. Antonia, the young lady from the reception spoke Romanian and helped us with the accommodation, with valuable information about the places to visit and recommendations for restaurants to book. The owner was also very nice and you could see that he pays attention to all the details to make the guests feel comfortable. I highly recommend Le Origini!

Saverio and his wife greeted us warmly upon our arrival. Since it was our first time in Matera he upgraded us to a room with a view and terrace! (View in pics! ). We were given help with ideas to explore area. Antonia was such a happy friendly face greeting us for breakfast each day. Room was spacious and very comfortable, breakfast great and parking was easy! Thank you for our wonderful visit.

Very nice hotel just outside the “Sassi” so the ZTL area. Very big room with the view over the “altopiano”. Breakfast was also very nice with fresh products. The Staff was very nice, if you contact them in advance they can also reserve for you a parking space just outside the “Sassi” for the night.

I think we got a “family room” so additionally to the double bed there were two single bed. We put our bags and clothes on them but we found out they were not clean and full of dogs hair.

Travelled as family of 4 and booked one room. The room was great, spacious and clean with very nice beds. The breakfast was very nice. Local produced food, eggs cooked on the spot and the handmade sbriciolata cake was very good. People at the property were great answering any question clearly and with courtesy.

If you travel by car the hotel is in a limited access area and you get fined if you drive through. The facility did warn us the evening before but had no wi fi at the time. It would have been good to have a clear warning on the site and maybe an explanation a bit earlier to prepare better for this.
