The rooms were big and had lots of space to unpack everything. The bathroom had a walk in shower and complimentary shower gel/shampoo/conditioner set up in dispensers. The reception area had separate areas to sit in small groups - costly sofas or table spaces. Staff are friendly, helpful and ensure you are happy with everything. The breakfast is an amazing - there is a great buffet and you can order a hot breakfast all included in your room cost. The location is bang in town with other options for pubs/Inns to have drunks/food. Fantastic Indian restaurant one minute walk away too! Free parking onsite or over the road. Access to Blenheim Palace via town too - short walk to get to the grounds. Overall Woodstock is a picture perfect village and great location. Very highly recommended.

Cannot fault this hotel - which is rare! It’s lovely!

Our second stay. Room 15 on this occasion. Charming historic building in the heart of Woodstock. Within a short walk to the gates of Blenheim Palace. Spacious rooms all individually decorated and very comfortable. Pleasant facilities. Nice bathing products, plus tea/ coffee making facilities. Staff are super. Friendly and efficient. From check in to breakfast. Breakfast is good value, with a reasonable choice available. Car parking available onsite ( free), but get there early to avoid having to use the public car park behind the hotel.

Rooms need USB charging points by the beds. No air conditioning ( but fans available and the windows do open). No fridge or safe in the room. No other food available at the hotel. But there is a small bar if drinks are desired. No electric charging points for cars ( but some are available in the public car park nearby) Prices are pretty high when events are on at Blenheim Palace. But having stayed previously we decided to just enjoy it

We really enjoyed our stay at the Marlborough Arms and in Woodstock and would love to stay again! It was well kept, full of character, clean, quiet and comfy. The staff were so friendly and helpful and went above and beyond. The breakfast was delicious and we were able to order drinks from the bar after we got back from dinner in the town. A really lovely and peaceful stay! We had everything we needed in our room including a nice coffee machine and kettle. The bathroom was well equipped with nice toiletries and a good shower, too.

Nothing!

Friendly and helpful staff who made us feel very welcome. Lovely sitting area by the bar with a log burner; we could have sat there the whole evening just relaxing. Our twin room felt newly refurbished and fresh. The beds were very comfortable with enough pillows and blankets if needed. The ensuite bathroom was spacious with a great size shower. The breakfast had plenty on offer. You can choose from full English, pancakes with bacon or fruit, mashed avocado on brown bread, or a porridge. In addition to that, there were other breakfast items available on a buffet. The service was absolutely fantastic. Marlborough Arms is located in the centre of Woodstock. There are several restaurants nearby, as is Blenheim Palace. There is a private car park at the back of the building.

We could have had a couple of hooks on the wall for our coats in our room, but that is just a small detail. Everything was really great.

Excellent choice for breakfast. Lovely staff and owners. Nothing too much trouble even when it was the saddest of days for the family and staff. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The Marlborough is a very comfortable place to spend a few days away.

I struggled with the uneven floorboards in the bedroom we were originally due to stay in, (I have balance problems) and we were in the eves of The Marlborough hotel which is an old coach house so this is to be expected. The owners and staff immediately changed the room to a modern suite to help me. This was fantastic.

Great breakfast, fantastic location – we took the bus from right outside the front door into Oxford, which was far easier and cheaper than driving there and having to park, and were dropped off directly across the road – and lovely nooks to sit and have a drink or chat, both inside and outside. But the best thing about this hotel is the staff, who made our stay. They simply can't do enough for you and are incredibly helpful and friendly.

The price, but then this is Oxford and surrounds so not unusual.

A beautifully maintained hotel in a 15th century Coaching Inn. Clean, spacious and well appointed room located in the middle of historic Woodstock and only 10 minutes walk to Blenheim Pallace. Off street parking for my motorcycle which is an unfortunate necessity nowadays. Staff were super friendly, efficient and couldn’t do enough in terms of advice re what to do in the town. A lovely full English breakfast was included. I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

It is a lovely old property with a lot of character & has a nice cosy feel. Our room was very spacious with a good en-suite,. Thea very large bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was dry well cooked & plentiful. The location is perfect with numerous restaurants in close proximity with the Blenheim Palace estate within easy walking distance. I must give a special mention to the staff, all of whom were extremely friendly & professional. We really enjoyed our stay at the Marlborough Arms. Thank you so much!

Amazing room (Room 10)! Enormous comfortable bed, and lounging area. Great Bathroom. Staff were excellent and very good breakfast included in the price. On site parking was good too. It was my wife's birthday, and there was a complimentary chilled bottle of Prosecco and a card on arrival, which was a nice touch. Elena (sorry if that's spelt wrong) was a wonderful host and very helpful to us.

Very minor point, but I though the toiletries in the shower were too high. I found them difficult to use, as I have a gammy shoulder. Everything important was great though.

the breakfast had everthing you could have asked for and the staff were excellant especially Andrea who was very friendly and obliging. The room was lovely and big and everything was catered for. Blenheim Palace was right on the doorstep which was the main reason for our visit. There was also 10% discounts in various restaurants and pubs in the town which was great.

There wasn't anything I didn't like
