We had a great stay at the Oxford Belfry Hotel. It’s a large hotel with plenty of parking, which made arrival very easy. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and we were pleased to be able to check in early, which was a nice bonus. Our room was comfortable and clean, perfect for a short break. The hotel is quite sprawling, with several corridors and wings, so it took us a little while to get our bearings, but once we did, it was fine. The gardens are beautifully maintained and add a peaceful touch to the surroundings. The spa was lovely – a really nice place to unwind. Breakfast was a generous buffet with plenty of choice and everything was fresh and well-stocked. All in all, a comfortable and enjoyable stay in a quiet, attractive location.

Lovely big room with a huge comfy bed, very friendly staff to check me in, complimentary drinks in the mini bar (I had a large suite), access to pool/ sauna/ spa, very nice breakfast served at a buffet so no waiting around. Perfectly met my needs and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

The only negative was that my room (on top floor) was very warm, and the air con didn't really cool it down sufficiently as wasn't very powerful, but we were having a heatwave in the UK that day (30 degrees C plus outside) so I think it was exceptional circumstances.

Very friendly and helpful staff on arrival. Check in was very straight forward, which was great after a very long drive. Reception was clean and tidy and right next to the car park, so no long hike to get into the hotel. The hotel room was a great size, perfect for my son and I. The spa area was a decent size and clean.

No idea why, but a hotel like this and the location for a Saturday was surprisingly empty. It didn't really have any soul/identity. At 19:00, the bar and reception were absolutely deserted and not so attractive. Breakfast/restaurant - Whilst the food was good, the fact that service didn't open until 07:30 on a weekend was very annoying as I had to rush breakfast or miss out or be late to my appointment.

Lovely room, great refreshments. Breakfast was good, although unfortunately there was an extremely large group of students and accompanying adults who kept sitting at our table whenever we got up for a juice or coffee!! Also they had brought in bags and were filling them up with all the fruit, pastries and bread before many people had even had a chance to have anything! Spoilt it a bit.

Our main problem was the length of walk from reception to our room on the second floor. I had expressly requested an accessible (or reasonably located) room as I walk with a stick due to osteoarthritis in both knees and struggle with stairs. The walk just to the lift around a warren of corridors was a good 7 minutes from reception for me, then another 7 minutes or so to our room which definitely took the edge off our enjoyment of the stay. We didn't use the pool as it was so far away from our room.

Confusion over the time of the Pilates class on Saturday morning. They could not confirm if it was at 9am or 10.30am which meant that it ruined our breakfast and we wasted a lot of time waiting at 9am for the instructor to arrive. We had tried to confirm this numerous times the day before and they kept misinforming us. We stayed for 2 nights for a wedding nearby and we were not given clean tea cups and only 1 set of towels for 2 people. We would have rated higher if not for the Pilates mess up!

Comfortable room, convenient location, food above expectations for a conference hotel, restaurant staff super helpful especially maitre d’ evening of Friday 31 May (don’t recall or name) , she was a real credit to the hotel.

All staff very helpful and willing, some would benefit from a little more training. Some rooms (not ours) catch a lot of noise from the nearby M40 motorway - a drawback of the convenient location Parking control system confusing. You have to enter the number of days you are staying. One day means a calendar day so an overnight stay is two days even though less than 24 hours. That needs to be made very clear on arrival which it wasn’t in our case

Danielle welcomed us warmly and checked us in very efficiently. She also sorted the extra bedding and towels needed for my daughters room. Had requested a triple room but the room was only made up for two people when we arrived. Danielle sorted this for us.

The hotel was great unfortunately there were very noisy guests next to our room who shouted at the top of their voices from 6am. Children were running around and their parents were swearing at them from 6am for quite a lengthy time. Did mean we all got up quicker and checked out to go for breakfast at a different location.

Staff all very pleasant and helpful. Rooms a very generous size and very well appointed and decorated. We enjoyed our brief stay and would be happy to make a return visit.

Pool was crowded and a bit “grubby” although the staff and changing facilities were good. Check in was very slow - it was not the fault of the gentleman on Reception as he was very helpful, there needed to be more staff on Reception for a busy check in. It was very unfortunate that both lifts were out of order for the duration of our stay.

Breakfast was very good. Not quite sure why we had to book dinner as it wasn't busy, but the food was good. Couldn't get them to serve us a cocktail but it did save us some money I guess!

The spa area could do with a bit of an update, and the treatments were pricey and only available later in the day so we didn't bother. Room was unheated the first night, tropical the second. Not sure what that was all about!

Breakfast Room and Breakfast was all as expected having stayed at the Belfry before. Liked that the room had complimentary water, a safe, iron and ironing board. A fridge would be nice

Didn't like the complexity of having to find our room, signage could be better. Didn't like the Tea Coffee Machine in the Breakfast room. The staff should be told to always serve the Ladies first at a Function Dinner
