Location The hotel is located in the center of Sainte-Maxime, less than 5 minutes' walk from the beach and the city's pedestrian shopping streets. Check-in It was very easy and the receptionist spoke perfect English. She gave us useful information about the city, but also the boat routes to Saint Tropez. Common use spaces At the entrance of the hotel there are sofas and chairs for resting. The corridors are all carpeted and were very clean. Room The room, although facing the street, was very quiet, with daily cleaning. It was fully equipped and even had a capsule coffee machine, but it was missing a second sheet on the bed so we could cover ourselves instead of using the blanket. Breakfast There was a buffet breakfast until 10.30. The cheeses and cold meats were served in a refrigerator. Breakfast is served in an indoor and outdoor area by the pool. Pool The pool is at the back of the hotel. It is large and has many sunbeds and sofas to relax. The place was very clean, as was the pool. In the winter when it will be empty of water, it will be necessary to paint the inside of the pool or pass tiles inside it. Parking There is no parking at the hotel, but there are two large car parks next to the hotel: the Louis Blanc car park just opposite and the Du Center car park with which the hotel cooperates and we parked there with an extra charge of 23 euros/day.

Breakfast The only thing we didn't like was that there wasn't a big selection of different types of bread.

Nicely designed, modern, refurbished hotel, pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff, very convenient location close to the beach and pedestrian area. Standard rooms are small but sufficient (as French rooms tend to be).

Rooms towards the street are very noisy, much more than expected for the location (small side street). There is a glass recycling container on the street, an entrance to a parking garage, and the street is uphill so cars and trucks accelerate while passing the hotel. There is a good amount of traffic throughout the day and night, including delivery vans and trucks and restaurants are dumping glass into the containers until the early morning (like, 2 am). Don't get a room towards the street unless you are tolerant of noise (windows alone don't block the noise sufficiently).

Clean and light rooms. Nice breakfast, but each day the same and on 4th day you don’t want it at all. Good location, close to sea, shops, restaurants and market. Everybody has free lounge in the evening with free white wine and olives, just nobody is telling about it.

Some of personal almost not speak English. I guess cleaning personal was sick, when we were in our room and they were cleaning other rooms so all the time we can hear cough and sniffing.

Receptionist, apero for free at 19h00,swimming pool rather small but refreshing, I could do very small laps, great place to sunbathe away from the crowds Soap in bathroom, similar too turquoise rituals, I think, very nice

The breakfast was really 3 star with industrial pains au chocolat, Milch in Coffee machine not so tasty, like very often in France, there were fresh fruits but they weren't quite ripe, we arrived at 9h30 maybe they had a better choice before, but all in all I d come back and can recommend it just keep expectations for breakfast for it s level, the rest in really 4 star, nice comfy beds and sheets, the airco was a bit weak especially for the kids room with bunk beds, we are in summer,...

Staff at the first place, best we encounter during our 12 days road trip to Provance and Cote d Azur. Great location, bed, breakfast top quality food with lots of options, when comming back to Saint Maxim, will definitely take this hotel again. Once again, all compliments for the staff

Hotel Matisse is small lovely hotel close to restaurants and bars and just 5 min from the beach. Hotel has also a pool, although we didn`t swim there. We had garden and pool view, which was nice. Breakfast was good, but coffee could be better.

Excellent location and friendly staff. Hotel was clean and comfortable, room a little snug for a long stay. Great restaurants and waterfront close by and close to Marina for boat trips around region

No carparking on site, there is an independent carpark across the road and easy to access but a little pricey.

Great location in centre of Sainte Maxime and the hotel had all we needed. Discounted parking in nearby hotel was worth the cost to save on inconvenience. Pool was nice, sunbeds comfortable. Our room had all we needed and good shower

Nothing to dislike

The room cleaner was exceptionally pleasant and kept our room spotless and always cheerful Reception was always willing and welcoming with a cheery word.

Another guest smoking a strong smelling substance / cigarette in the next door room (which had an interconnecting door) on 2nd floor was annoying. However I appreciate that some guests are less considerate than others. The hotel staff were extremely help and friendly, including the house keeping team. Thank you.
