The location was amazing - the canoe and hiking trip to the waterfall was very special. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was super and the suppers in the evenings were great value for money.

The waiting staff were very friendly and helpful but got our supper order wrong twice. Not a big deal for us, but their training could be improved. There was nowhere in the room to dry wet costumes and towels - a drying rack would have been super useful!

The staff were super friendly! Carl and Jacques were our favourites! Room cleaned daily! Breakfast good and plentiful! Most delicious scones! Swimming pool was fantastic and our room looked out onto the beautiful river. Dipped in the river a few times and that was awesome! Free canoes for residents to use, which is nice. The hotel and grounds are kept clean and is well maintained. Our 1 week holiday changed into nearly 3 weeks, and they accommodated us with no fuss. We loved our stay and would come again!

The TV channels. They need to get DSTV or Netflix! In our room, the TV was way off to the left and you couldn't tilt it, which made watching TV from the bed a bit awkward. Not the end of the world but worth looking into.

Breakfast was awesome, variety of foods to choose from. Mushrooms were very good. Had supper on the first night and ordered the oxtail, it was falling off the bone delicious, very very good. Room was clean and view from the room was amazing. Staff very friendly and assisted with questions. We did the 8km hike (Half-Collared Kingfisher trail) to the waterfall, awesome and close to the hotel. The next day we went to visit the Big Tree, Wilderness beach, Map of Africa and the Garden Route Dam (we did the 6km hike here), all within 15 kms from the hotel. We had an amazing time.

Wi-Fi a bit off and on at times, but not really an issue because we were out most of the time.

The facilities and activities offered exceeded expectations, with ample activities for the kids and adults alike. Some of the key features included a playground, outdoor entertainment area, braai facilities (uncommon for an hotel setup but super convenient and welcoming if you're staying in a ground floor unit), free canoeing, and wellness treatments (at an additional cost). Above all, certainly value for money, worth more than simply just a 3 star hotel. Booking.com genius and booking last minute gave us a bigger bargain, especially having breakfast included. The rooms, well we had a magnificent view of the lake in a top floor corner unit. Again, interior and offerings worth more than just 3 stars. Perfect for family get aways especially over festive periods.

The fact that we couldn't book another night on a last minute deal; definitely a popular spot!

We commend the hotel's significant improvements. As a family, we have been patrons for many years, our last visit being approximately 15 years prior. The staff were generally friendly, with one exception during our final breakfast. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, with daily housekeeping service. Wi-Fi connectivity was reliable. While the breakfast was satisfactory, we recommend expediting the replenishment of food items. The addition of the entrance gate enhances security; however, pre-arrival communication of the gate code to guests would be beneficial.

Room 39 lacked air conditioning and available cooling fans. Despite inquiry, no fans were available. This was unsatisfactory, and conditions could worsen during hot summer months. The kitchen/catering manager's demeanor on our final breakfast was unfriendly and unprofessional, requiring immediate attention. His interactions with us were unkind and unprofessional and not the kind you would expect . Other than that, we had a fantastic time and a very enjoyable weekend.

On check-in we were welcomed by Jacques, one of the friendly front desk managers. Everything regarding the resort set-up were clearly explained to us. We had a very comfortable and pleasant stay in one of the beautiful and spacious riverside rondawels at Fairy Knowe. The resort is centrally located for nature and outdoor activities in the nearby area as well as some relaxing time on Wilderness beach. We enjoyed the free canoe and did some canoeing and paddle boat excercise on the Touws river. Both the resort and Wilderness areas are very safe. The included buffet breakfasts were superb! There was a big variety of warm and tasty food and a good selection to satisfy everyone's need (coffee/tea, juice, joghurts, fruit salad, muffins, home-made bread, jam, cheese, sausages, bacon, scrambled or baked egg, omelet, mushrooms, potato, baked tomato). We also had our dinners at the new Amare Vita on-site restaurant which is open throughout the day for lunch and dinner. The setting of this restaurant is beautiful and you can either sit outdoors under the trees or indoors. The menu has a good selection of food that is well-priced. Fairy Knowe is indeed a wonderful place to stay either for a short breakaway or a longer stay especially for overseas tourists who want to explore this beautiful part of the Garden Route. We will definately stay again at Fairy Knowe in the future and recommend this gem to any fellow traveller.

Everything was perfect. Staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. Loved the breakfasts. Facilities are comfortable, clean and well spaced out. Very clean and neat at all times. It's the best place to go to relax and unwind. Rooms have airconditioning, television (if needed ). Room service is impecable. Meals available on sight with a lovely bar as well. Barely needed to go anywhere for anything as everything you could possibly want or need is there.

Beautiful little hotel on the banks of the river. Great that guests can use canoes for free whenever you feel like paddling along the river. Quiet and perfect for a getaway. Restaurant on site making lunch and dinner options easy. Breakfast plentiful and included in our stay. We arrived early and were lucky enough to get an early check in. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend to others and will probably return for another great weekend getaway.

Room offers lots of space. Renovated and has nice colors and curtains. Right at the river. Great view. Bed very comfortable. Shower is powerfull. Soap, shampoo and bodycream available. Wifi ok. Free use of canoe, Lovely to swim in the river. Pool is great too. Gardens lovely. A lush and green environment with huge palmtrees. Breakfast is good and more then sufficient. Friendly staff. We had one dinner during our stay. Not busy. Limited choice, but food is quite good. In the village the restaurants are fully booked sometimes so it worked out well for us.

An extra comfy chair in room would have been nice. And a table to put at least one suitecase on. Now we had to drop them on the bed or on the floor. The Switch of the bedlights are out of reach when in bed. When room is used as a twin it probably works out very well. It didn´t spoil our stay.

The location is amazing, i love the vibe at Fairy Knowe, it's such a tranquil location that helps anyone to destress. We were able to take kayaks which are offered by the hotel for free up and down the river. Scenic walks all around and relatively close to the surrounding restaurants. Wilderness is such a relaxing location, we loved it. An added bonus to the resort is TLC, who offer massages and Yoga/wellness classes.

We took two cottages, one of them was perfect no noise, the other number 18 was very close to Eden Adventure office. There is constant foot traffic through here and noise, unfortunately this was very disturbing, we were unable to leave the room windows open due to the excessive noise.
