Our host, Teresa contacted us at 9.30am on the day of our arrival to let us know that our apartment was ready when we were. She was there to welcome us when we arrived later in the day. Teresa told us what dining and shopping was available in Dover which was very helpful. The facilities were great. The apartment was clean and comfortable. The location was wonderful - scenic and quiet. The facilities were good as was the wifi provided. Overall, our stay represented excellent value for money.

Central to all the sites we wanted to see in the South and a great unit right on the water. Well appointed unit within sounds of the waves on the beach and if you are lucky, front row seats to the southern lights.

Dover is a lovely setting but we missed some of the options we are used to at home in terms of cafe/restaurants etc - but that is not in the power of the hosts who went out of their way to support our stay.

Lovely apartment locate near the waterfront in Dover. 1 minute walk to the beach. The apartment is very clean. Beds are comfy and kitchen is self sufficient. There is communal laundry and a BBQ area as well but we didn't get to use it. We visited the Hasting Cave and this is a good stop over place to rest and continue our journey. We were also very lucky to see a stunning sunset & the southern lights at night!

A nice surprise, nicely decorated large apartment and well stocked in the kitchen if you decide to cook. Very comfortable bed and nice view of beach and garden. It's about a 5 - to 8-minute walk to RSL for dinner, and about 10 minutes to the IGA and a little cafe that opened at 9 am. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend to other travellers.

We enjoyed our time at Smuggler’s Rest. It’s situated in a nice spot, near the beach. The apartment is a good size, with separate rooms. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen was well-resourced. It was great to have a laundry on site.

I suspect renovations are happening and look forward to them. We noted there were no fly screens on the windows, the curtains were too long and got in the way a bit. Small things need attention and will no doubt improve in time.

Cute apartment!! Full furnished kitchen with microwave, kettle, toaster, stove top, plus everything you need! The room itself was lovely with a view of the garden outside and the bay in the distance. The area is very quiet and peaceful which was just what my mum and I were looking for on our holiday.

It was quite comfortable and a great location near to the beach. Great to have microwave & stove, although we did not use the stove. Beds were comfy.

We were cold, the air con remote said not to press the mode key, just use the temperature buttons. But this did not work. you need to change mode for warmth. Some more bench space in kitchen would be beneficial.

Smuggler's Rest was exceptional, the best location, owners were so friendly and helpful Everything you would need in the unit and beautiful barbeque area out the back of unit. Overlooking the bay, so peaceful. Would definitely stay here again !

There was nothing to dislike about this stay

Good sized family room- full kitchen, lounge area, both bedrooms large. Such a peaceful location, only across the road from the water. Appreciated the complimentary laundry facilities. Wish we had more than one night to stay there, it was very comfortable and a good base for exploring southern Tasmania.

The view from my bed of the full moon and the lovely privacy and quiet more than made up for any negatives. Parking right outside my unit under carport. Walk to the nearby ships and pier.

Occasional yapping dogs in the adjacent unit. Although I was travelling alone I thought I would have access to the other bedrooms. I only had access to the living room which doubled as a bedroom. No closet was the main negative
