Lovely location and gorgeous decorating. The room was well presented and had everything we needed. Breakfast was included and they even had gluten free bread available. The communal areas were also nice, especially the library with chess table, and the lounge area with fireplace. While I imagine the pool and outdoor area get far more use in summer, it was a cosy place to stay in winter.

This was a minor inconvenience, but the heating in the room could have been better. Perhaps another space heater for winter stays?

A slightly bizarre stay as we were the only guests. I think it is mainly now used as a wedding venue and we were staying midweek. However we cannot fault the staff, who were so obliging, preparing lovely breakfasts and bringing in a chef for an evening meal, which was delicious. The building is gorgeous, although the gardens need a little more maintenance. One of the staff ran after us as we were leaving with a small gift, we felt very special.

There probably would have been a little more atmosphere had there been more guests.

This place is amazing it’s actually the best hotel we have ever stayed in and we have travelled a lot - it is the most glorious Tuscan Villa - you feel you are actually in Tuscany. The ambience, the decor, decorations are all superb, the rooms are magnificent we stayed in the Tower Suite it’s huge with a free standing bath and glorious views. Breakfast is wonderful and it is close to Hobart, Kingston, Bruny Island and everything south of Hobart. We return again and again and we always will.

Nothing could have been better it was perfect, slippers, robe, even a tote bag as a present.

The bed was so incredibly comfy - I slept so well. The staff (although we only saw one staff member our whole stay) was lovely! We didn’t try the breakfast that was included but the food smelt great.

The tv was extremely old - these need a serious update. The restaurant was closed despite it saying in the books in the room that it was open Wednesday-Sunday and the heater wasn’t enough for the room. We were quite cold all night.

The property is lovely and the staff were great. The breakfast in the morning though always seem to be cold, which was a shame. The quality of the ingredients was very good They also seem to take quite a long time to cook it considering it wasn’t that busy. ! They might consider offering a breakfast cereal or breakfast if it was easier… Would certainly stay there again though

Indoor decor, comfortable bed, view from our room. Nice cooked breakfasts provided in room charge. Friendly and helpful staff and help getting luggage upstairs very much appreciated.

It's a pity there wasn't a lift. The stairs were a trial for an older person with mobility problems. Coffee sachets were needed for for those who don't like using the machine provided. Coffee made in the machine wasn't hot enough.

Breakfast was slow Sour dough bread was dry n over cooked So was the bacon with the egg Benedict Disappointed that we were notified upon arrival that the chef was nit available that night for in house meal And lattes seemed they were made from the water end after a cappuccino was made I ordered latte they were watery Everyone else ordered cuppacino and didn’t complain I’m not normally one to make complaint But $300 per night is getting up There in price If these things were seen too I would come back

Loved the building, room size great and bed comfy . Swimming pool was a bonus and loved the real wood fire in the lounge in the evenings.

The meal we had was very average and we were the only ones dining on a Saturday night. We were told that the chef had come in especially for us but our roasted veg tasted pre cooked and reheated in the microwave.

The overall feeling, the authenticity of the place, the style and the most friendly stuff you could ask for. Also, the food was great and I love the surroundings

Wi-Fi is really bad, so if you plan to work or need a stable connection, I would consider a different place

Our stay at Villa Howden was absolutely incredible it felt like stepping into Italy. We went away for valentines Day, and the staff made it so memorable and enjoyable, always extremely attentive and helpful. I would recommend this beautiful place to any couple wanting to enjoy a romantic getaway.

The TV's could have Netflix or some kind of streaming site that a guest could log into to relax at the end of the day.
