On arrival Gary was very welcoming and happy to answer any questions about Dover and its surrounds. Situated on the main road into town but noise was not noticeable at night. Bed and Breakfast set up was prestine, with the room we booked being large, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and very much appreciated. Gary goes that extra mile by providing a hearty cooked breakfast as well as offering a selection of continental items. Grounds were lovely and parking off road. Exceptional A+ business.

Gary was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. He was also very accommodating with breakfast, providing a gluten free option save from contamination. The breakfast was huge and yummy, I'm not a big breakfast eater but was very full ate at 8-8.30 and wasn't hungry until 1pm. Great feed to send you on your way to explore.

Ashdowns of Dover was a fantastic stay. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the homely feel of the accommodation and Gary was an incredible host. His passion shines through. He went out of his way to organise a reservation for us for dinner and was able to give us the rundown of the town. The breakfast far exceeded our expectations and we were able to purchase some delicious home made jams. We will definitely be back.

Gary was an exceptional host. He went above and beyond in helping my partner and I to adjust our preplanned itinerary to accommodate for poor weather conditions, arranged restaurant bookings for us due to our interstate sim cards not receiving signal service, and prepared satisfying breakfasts for us throughout our stay. Further, when my partner and I visited 'Masaaki's sushi' for lunch in Geeveston after our departure from Ashdowns of Dover (as was planned within our itinerary), the restaurant owner and sushi chef 'Masaaki' immediately recalled Gary after we explained that we had been staying in Dover - ultimately speaking volumes about Gary's knowledge, connections and well-formed suggestions. Overall, our holiday started off on a positive note thanks to Gary. We highly recommend Ashdowns of Dover.

Friendly service and advice and very welcoming on arrival and during stay. Accommodated wife’s needs with a shower chair

A choice of breakfast as it is a full breakfast and a choice to pick 1 or 2 eggs and with or without sausages or other items is only negative to remember if you don't feel like a full breakfast, so not a negative as we loved the stay.

Gary was a great host from the get-go. Very communicative and helpful with local area knowledge. The fire pit was a plus and the grounds were a great way to decompress for a short weekend stay. The breakfast was wonderful, gave us fuel to explore. Charming setting with countryside surrounds. Very convenient location for Dover.

As soon as I arrived, I did not want to leave. Gary was an excellent host. Communication was top tier, and he was especially considerate and thoughtful. The room was lovely. Breakfast was absolutely wonderful, and the conversation was also filled with interesting topics and loads of great travel advice for the area. Thank you so much! Hope to see you again.

The hospitality was exceptional from start to finish. Love the area, the walk down to the back of the property with the cute cabin and the open fire which was ready to be lit, we enjoyed that! The rooms were clean, cosy, and comfortable too.

Unfortunately the only thing would have been my hubby asked for fried eggs and he got poached, that was okay, I ate them and he was very full after the delicious breakfast oat, yoghurt, berry mix! Great host!

The host is a very warm and engaging gentleman who greatly adds to the overall experience. The home is in a few acres of land with sheep and good views out the back. The room was a good size and the bed very comfortable.

Top notch in every way. Spotless, comfortable room. Friendly, considerate and generous host (the breakfast was truly and traditionally big, wholesome and delicious). One of the best B&Bs I have experienced in Australia. Highly recommended.
