I loved my stay at Kathy's Place, it's a really charming and authentic Aussie oasis in Alice Springs and in the middle of the Aussie outback! It was a pleasure to meet and talk with Kathy and Karl. I particularly appreciated the quietness of the place, the swimming pool and garden area at the back, and the use of the very well-equipped kitchen. My favourite part of staying here though just has to be the breakfasts - Kathy whips up an awesome Full English! The free pick-up from the Airport was also very much appreciated, as was the onsite parking once I had hired my car. Thanks for a great stay in Alice Springs!

Kathy offered a range of things for breakfast, both hot and cold. The home was older style but well maintained and some modernisation. We were free to use everything in the kitchen and there was a shared lounge room with television. A bonus was that Kathy, our friendly host, picked us up from the Ghan station.

Nothing to do with Kathy, but in retrospect, we would like to have been a little closer to town. Kathy said that we could walk it in 20 minutes, but my wife was not feeling too well, and it took us 45 minutes. Kathy had offered to take us in, but we wanted to try.

Kathy and Karl were wonderful hosts. They fed us when we arrived after all restaurants had closed and shared the washing machine and drying line with us when we arrived for our second visit. Breakfast was wonderful and we enjoyed our conversations with both of them. The garden was beautiful. Kathy made sure we had everything we needed and even gave us a storage container for some cookies we were carrying with us for our trip to Devils Marbles. That container is now back here in Canada with us, and every time I use it, I will remember what a lovely stay we had here.

Kathy and Karl were wonderful hosts. They fed us when we arrived late enough that everything was closed, and on our return for a second night, let us do our laundry and hang it on the line. Kathy’s breakfasts were delicious and Karl’s gardens were beautiful. We stayed one night, drove north, and came back to stay a second time. It was like coming home!! We enjoyed our conversations, appreciated the help we were given, and loved all the extra touches given to us. Our stay in Alice Springs was made better because we stayed here.

We felt so welcome at Kathy’s place and enjoyed talking to our hosts. The beds were incredibly comfortable and we very much appreciated the courtesy pick up!

The property is located a five-minute drive from the centre of Alice Springs and is in a residential area. If you don’t have a car, there’s a 20-minute walk to the nearest restaurants and it’s not recommended walking after dark. This is not necessarily a problem, but it is useful to be aware of for planning purposes.

Kathy was very accommodating with breakfast times and would go above and beyond for her guests, picking up and dropping off to the airport, offering up suggestions and ideas of things to do and places to eat.

Everything was as expected so I don't have any real complaints about the accommodation. It's much as you would expect for a family run - home B & B .

The peace, the swimming pool, the nice breakfast, nice chats with Kathy and Karl, storage of our bag while we went on road-trip in the red center, the pickup from the airport.

Location is outside of town so you need a car or a taxi to get into town. Taxi is about 15 dollars one way. Alice springs is not really exciting, neither the safest place, so being out of town was not so much of a problem for us.

Unfortunatelly, we didn't get to met Kathy, but Karl was a kind host. He welcomed us warmly in the evening and the next day made us an amazing breakfast. He also offered us a shuttle to the airport and we had some great conversations with him. We would really recomend. Auf Wiedersehen Karl!

Really enjoyed my short stay with Kathy and Karl. Pick up at the airport was really helpful, together with useful hints about Alice Spings. Everything was super clean, breakfast was great. Their place is located in a quiet and safe neighborhood, but close enough to the center to walk for shopping and eating.
