Margarita, Nicole, Marcela and everyone else I encountered during this stay was an absolute gem. The stay and the room were already lovely but when I got sick, the team took it to the next level. They were available on whatsapp 24/7, they came and assisted me, brought me tons of water and what medicine they had along with extra blankets, in the morning set me with an English-speaking driver to take me to the local medical center and translate for me, made stomach-friendly food for me, and more. I don't know how I would have handled all of this anywhere else I stayed in Mindo and am so appreciative of the kindness, care and attention. Hopefully you're not sick when you come here and you can just enjoy Margarit's food, hummingbirds, and spacious and comfortable rooms.

What an incredible stay at this charming boutique hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, going above and beyond to help us plan our Mindo adventures. Our room was spacious, immaculately clean, and offered a wonderful view of the surrounding forest. The breakfast was a highlight - delicious and varied with fresh Ecuadorian and continental options, complete with fruit, yogurt, and granola. But the real magic happened at the bird feeders! We were mesmerized by the stunning array of hummingbirds and local bird species that visited during our morning meal. The hotel’s location on the edge of Mindo is perfect, and they were incredibly helpful in arranging our return transportation to Quito airport. The common areas are beautifully designed, offering a relaxing space to unwind after a day of exploring the cloud forest. Highly recommend Margarit Boutique Hotel for anyone visiting Mindo - you won’t be disappointed!

Our stay in Margarit Boutique Hotel exceeded our expectations. The central communal space was wonderful, with a close up view of the hummingbirds feeding a few feet away. Margarit gave us a warm welcome and showed us to our beautiful room which was far more gorgeous than expected. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were exceedingly helpful. We booked a Bird Watching Tour that Margarit organised for us and it was everything we hoped it would be. The location of the hotel was also excellent.

This is a haven in Mindo. The location is perfect, just outside the main area and easy and safe to walk around. The decor is homely and modern. The people were so welcoming and couldn’t do enough to help me enjoy my time in Mindo. Very knowledgable about the local area and bird life. Helped me to booked transport so I felt safe as a solo female traveller. This is the place you should choose to stay in Mindo if you want a friendly, local experience that feels luxurious and safe. I loved staying at Margarit Boutique Hotel, it was a highlight of my seven week trip. The hotel is spotlessly clean, so comfortable, and so much thought has gone into the beautiful design. I literally watched the hummingbirds and other varieties for hours. It’s in a peaceful location on the edge of the town, felt very safe and walkable for a solo traveller. It was easy to get to from Quito Airport, and the perfect place to relax before or after an active adventure tour! They had lots of activity suggestions, and the breakfast was my favourite of my trip. Margarit and all the staff are lovely, shoutout to Ana and Valeria <3 Thank you team for a wonderful visit!

Margarita and her team are exceptional. Welcoming. Attentive. Informative. The location is excellent. The open restaurant looks into the jungle garden with large numbers of colourful birds. The place is modern. They arranged trips for us. We booked three nights but ended up staying five nights and were reluctant to leave. The entire Mindo experience was wonderful. Small friendly town, accessible cloud forest activities.

Large bright rooms and open reception/breakfast area are all optimal for watching the birds. Breakfast is delicious with coffee and tea available all day. The staff are professional, friendly and helpful. Comfortable bed and bedding.

The humidity in the cloud forest is very high. A fan in the rooms would be helpful in keeping clothing dry. Nothing dries in the room including bath towels. After 4 days all our clothes were musty.

Small boutique hotel with only 4 rooms. The common area opened onto the forest where many birds and hummingbirds were attracted to the feeders. Fun to watch the action during meals. Our room opened onto the forest and we could leave the doors open to hear the river all night long. Service from Margarit was exceptional. Be sure to try her desserts! The hotel has good security features too.

A lockbox for passports and cash would be a good addition

This is a very sweet hotel. Breakfast is served overlooking the woods and river so you can enjoy the birds and nature sounds as you eat. The staff are very attentive and willing to please. This is a small hotel with a few rooms so you won’t be overwhelmed with large amounts of people.

Friendliness and kindness of all the staff - especially Josslyn and Margarit. Josslyn organised a bird spotting tour for us late the night before. The room opened up to the rainforest - really special! Comfortable beds and great shower. Very good breakfast. Wonderful dining area open to the rainforest and gorgeous hummingbirds! Secure parking for our motorbike.
