Lovely location on Tankha Bay. Quiet, serene beach for relaxing and enjoying solitude. There are plenty of options to enjoy either relaxing beachside or playing in the water. The incredible breakfast delivered to your door every morning was superb, and the hosts and staff were wonderful. Our room was simple but clean, and the small patio area offered a peak of ocean view while set back from the heat of the beach. I would definitely recommend Casa Colibri to traveller's that want proximity to the area and have transport as the costs to travel by taxi are ridiculous.

Unbeatable location directly on the beach - quiet and safe as it is located in a gated community a short drive from Tulum town. You can hear the waves through your window lull you to sleep and wake up to eat breakfast with a view of stunning sand, surf, pelicans and shore birds. Nancy and Mel are so warm and incredibly kind and helpful - Mel was a great communicator and set up private transport to and from the airport as well as a rental car drop off/pickup on property, making the trip so seamless and stress free. Tasty breakfasts and coffee, and a great restaurant at the hotel next door. You can feel the love in the place - from Nancy, Mel, as well as the housekeeping and gardening staff - so much warmth and care in how they run the property.

That I had to leave! Our mattress was a bit firm for my body (I have chronic pain) but we were graciously provided some extra pillows which were a big help!

Directly at the beach with great views, staff was really nice and accommodating. Great variety in the breakfast. The location is a bit outside of Tulum, which we knew beforehand. You can walk about 1 km to the highway and than take a collectivo from there to get to Tulum Pueblo or Zona hotelera in order to avoid super expensive taxis. Or just spend the day on the really nice beach.

We are used to booking accommodations directly at the beach but this was the first one that had actually no windows, only blinds. So, it was not possible to close it completely, which means it gets very very loud at night (super windy with storms and heavy rain + waves) - we had no single night where we slept through. Bring earplugs for sleeping. Also, the wifi was not working for 4 days, we got a small refund for this, which directly went into Telcel for buying MBs on our Sim card, as we had to book busses and plan the rest of our trip. Breakfast some days was rather small, so we bought something in the supermarket.

Family run, small accommodation with only 6 rooms right on the beach, very quiet, beautiful setting, hammock to relax in, nice restaurant next door with pier we were allowed to use for easy access to the water. Breakfast brought to our room every day, always something different. The room was cleaned every day and the towels were refreshed. The supermarket was a 10 to 15 minute drive and had wonderful choices, great bread, fruit, cheese, etc. We had a fridge in the room as well as a coffee pot and use of a kettle for making tea. There was also a little kitchen for use by the guests which we used for preparing food. The beach was nice for taking long walks, you could walk for miles. no large hotels, very peaceful. We had kayaks and paddle boards available for our use. We felt safe and secure as the property is gated and the road leading to the property is guarded.

There was no where to walk to for groceries, so shopping needed to be done at the large supermarket which was expensive, similar to US prices and higher. The water is nice but the rocks make it difficult to walk in. You have to go out quite far to have a proper swim. The paddle boards needed to be replaced as they leak. When we discussed with the owner he thanked us for letting him know and said he would replace them.

Private beach that felt like we were alone most of the time, quiet/peaceful, falling asleep to the sound of the waves, fresh beach towels everyday, yummy breakfast, and very cute cats/dogs on site. Also, the host and her mom were so nice and accommodating! We loved that it was close enough to Tulum via car but away from the business of downtown. Nothing beats the beautiful waterfront that our room led to. Wish we booked at least a day longer here!

We really didn’t mind it at all but it is a bit of bumpy road via rental car (not as bad as some people make it out to be… the highway potholes are way worse lol). Not much food nearby so be prepared to drive into town but the host warns you of this! I didn’t view these 2 things as cons - just to take note of!

Superb hidden gem! Clean, comfortable rooms right on the beach. We had lounge chairs on our private deck, and the property has plenty of other chairs/hammocks steps away from the beach. Breakfast was tasty and delivered to the room. Definitely the area to stay in - away from the crowds of Tulum, but a short drive to get to the ruins and cenotes - there’s even a “neighborhood” cenote a few minutes walk away. We could not have been happier with our choice to stay here - great in every way - if we ever return to the area, we will definitely stay here.

WiFi wasn’t the best.

A wonderful welcome by Nancy and her team to Casa Colibrí, where they treated us to beautiful vistas and the joy of sea turtles visiting each evening to lay their nests on the secluded private beach. Facilities and location were perfect whether you wanted to eat in or pop to one of the several nearby restaurants, all of which boasted delicious menus and stunning views of the ocean.

The secluded location's only downside is getting to the location is challenging and expensive without your own car. No fault of Casa Colibrí - but if you plan on visiting (and you should) we'd strongly recommend hiring a car.

Melissa and Nancy brought up a delicious breakfast every morning. Very helpful with suggestions to explore 2 beautiful cenotes. There were kayaks available to use to paddle out from the rocky shore to swim and paddle around. The view was nice from our balcony. There seem to be 4 units, for 2 each, so there were about 8 people on site. Plenty of sun chairs, a shared dock to walk out on and get in water from there. The restaraunt next door is GREAT! It was cozy and quiet and not in the busier hotel zone of Tulum. It is on a sandy road next to the beach, with other hotels and a few restaraunts in the hotels. Quick drive to downtown, and a close to drive to lots of cenotes (which was the highlight of our trip) Air conditioning worked well, nice chairs to sit outside. We did rent a car, but there were tons of taxis parked at the security entrance to the sandy road where all the hotels were where you checked in. 50 minute easy, safe drive from the airport.

For our first time to Mexico, it probably was not the ideal beach area to visit. Bed could use two more (nicer) pillows. We did only go for 4 days, and on a budget, so it worked out fine. We spent more time out, exploring cenotes, and Puerto Aventuras.

A dream stay on the beach! The room was lovely funished, cozy, spacious and right in front of a private and quiet beach. We loved the peace and tranquillity of this place! We really appreciated the free water and coffee in the room, as well as the generous and healthy breakfast in the morning. We used the free kayaks and enjoyed spotting a manta ray!! The owners were very kind in allowing us to stay after checking out and using a bathroom for a quick shower before heading to the airport.

Pillows were a bit hard, but not a big deal!

Beautiful, beach front. Peaceful relaxing safe.

Transportation not easily accessible. There was no bathtub, shower head was way high my wife could not reach. Good also to have hand held shower. Lightning can be improved in the bathroom. Bathroom sink faucet getting stuck. Please have microwave connected. Wanted to view the ocean from the room, did not open the shutter because there was no glass just mesh warm air humidity did not permit.
