I have stayed here multiple times and keep coming back for that beachfront room with the rooftop pool, it's beautiful. The staff here are always generally friendly and helpful, a particular note for Jesus at the front desk who is an absolute gem and pleasure to interact with! They need a Jesus at their other two sister hotels (Alea and Mereva) where I unfortunately cannot say anything similar about the hospitality.

This particular time there was noisy construction going on most of the day, I also realize it is not their fault but a hurricane earlier this year destroyed their palapas that you see prominently in the photos. They were literally my other favorite feature besides the rooftop pool, for lounging out on a hammock with a drink. I think they should give customers a heads up about these things and update photos. Ideally, it should also be factored into the price (particularly the construction which has made almost no progress since my last stay in March/April 2024...expect noise well into 2025).

We just said goodbye to Hotel Nerea Tulum after a delightful 4-night stay, and we simply had to rave about our experience! The hotel's focus on wellness, their use of locally sourced ingredients in the restaurant, the incredible food, the inviting pool, and the exceptional staff all combined to make our trip truly unforgettable. Despite having only 22 rooms, we received personalized service from every single staff member. Jesus and Isabella at the front desk were always proactive and quick to address any questions we had before and during our stay. Jesus even arranged for a boat to pick us up at the hotel pier for a private snorkeling adventure to see sea turtles and the breathtaking reef right in the hotel's backyard. Our morning snorkeling excursion with Edwardo was absolutely incredible. The bar and restaurant staff quickly became our friends, with Francisco standing out but truly the entire team was fantastic. The food was not only delicious but also offered a variety of healthy and fresh options at every meal. The massages on the hotel pier were top-notch. Our room was spacious, with a luxurious shower, and having direct access to the beautiful pool from our bedroom was a dream. It's rare for us to say this, but we are already planning our return to Hotel Nerea Tulum. If you're seeking a relaxing getaway, this is the place to be.

It is hard to write something about the hotel...in a way it was good, but there are some cons. Firstly this is a beautiful location, very private on the beach. It is easy to reach (btw the road on the last few meters isn't as bad as mentioned in other report. I mean we are not in a city with paved roads!). It feels good to be away from the masses in Tulum. There was a construction site next to the hotel, which was new. So the very kind hotel manager, Luis, gave us a new room in the sister hotel Alea (very good!) a few steps down the road. That was very kind!

There are two solid points in which we were disappointed. The hotel itself and especially the food and the drinks were much too expensive. A glass of wine costs 300 pesos - while in a nice restaurant in Tulum it was 110 Pesos. Sorry, three times the price just because of a beach view...no way. The food was nice, but it some it all tasted the same. Nothing to write home about and for what it was too expensive. Secondly: everybody is very friendly, but service was slow and unreliable. For breakfast starter and main you had too calculate with about an hour. Then drinks or the milk were forgotten. Considering prices of 300 US-Dollars for the room this is not really acceptable

The breakfast view was epic, everyday! They had delicious, european style bread, great flavours, and the fresh fruits were carefully selected to be the ripest! The staff was amazing. Friendly and attentive. Every day we went to do activities in the area, and when we arrived home, our room was cleaned and organized to the highest standards. It had the privacy and beauty that I needed. Really relaxing environment.

The pillows were a bit high for me, but the bed was comfortable. The dirtroad that takes you to the hotel is an adventure to drive (really bumpy). There are more beautiful beaches in Tulúm, but still not complaining! :)

Breakfast was excellent. Freshly made, two courses to choose from a menu with good variety. Service was always spot on. Extremely quiet location, secluded private beach, away from the main drag and partying of Tulum town, and only 22 rooms in the hotel so it never felt crowded. Lovely private beach, free use of kayaks, SUPs and snorkeling. We had a room with a private pool on a terrace above. Amazing views and we loved watching the pelicans glide overhead!

The bedroom did't have good reading lights, nor a master switch at the bed to turn all lights off. Lots of random switches which didn't seem to do anything. Minibar fridge really didn't have much effect. But nothing of serious note! Taxis in to town were extremely expensive (USD 25 each way for a 10 minute ride), as they had a monopoly. For an expensive hotel we were surprised there wasn't a shuttle available.

The staff were incredible, especially Ben, Fernando and our host Isabelle took care of us from start to finish (even afterwards as a nightclub fixer). Perfect location, much nicer than being on the hotel zone on the beach on other side of town... but let's be clear this is TAXI ONLY into town/even further for nightclubs etc, not walk or bike as there is a huge busy dual carriage way in between, but taxi doesn't take long (although taxis in general are absolutely extortionate). Great food and exceptional food at Casa Altemar two doors down. Access to the other two properties was really nice to mix it up at dinner. Close to a really nice cenote. Snorkelling boats to the reef nearby, with a great value for money bar/cheap eats. The beach and jetty was amazing. TOP MARKS!

Honestly, not a lot. Expensive bar/food compared to other places, so we drank and ate up/down the road a fair bit, but this was a pleasent experience. Was a pain having to sign off a bill for breakfast even when included, this should definitely be changed. They should just include 20% tip to pay staff onto the bill or something, this makes mornings frictional.

Breakfast was very good. We also had the opportunity to enjoy breakfast in Mereva and Alea, which was great. The staff was very kind and immediately remembered our special requests. A special thanks to José and Santo. During our stay, there was some construction work going on, and we were promptly offered an upgrade to a quieter room at no extra cost. Thank you! We had a wonderful stay. The view from the rooftop pool is breathtaking.

The room's view was simply amazing! Waking up to the sound of ocean water and feeling the breezy Mexican wind was super relaxing! The hotel's infrastructure is really good! Jesus was really helpful during our stay - he gave us tips about cenotes and places to visit, and even lended us his own charger for a day while we got an outlet adaptor.

The only downside I can think of can be the location, depending on your plans: (1) there is a construction happening right next to the hotel on working hours - this didn't interfere us at all, since we were out visiting Tulum and other attractions, but if you're planning to spend the entire day at the hotel, it might bother a bit and, (2) the hotel is not at the heart of Tulum or the hotel zone, so if you are looking for a busy nightlife, you will need to head towards the city. If that's not the case, the hotel offers a quiet and peaceful night ;)

Excellent oceanfront charming boutique hotel in Tankah Bay... The staff was excellent, the food in their restaurant was amazing and this hotel allows you to truly relax away from the hustle and hustle of Tulum Beach... but Nerea Tulum Hotel is only a 600 MXN 15-minute taxi from Tulum. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NEREA TULUM HOTEL!

It's somewhat remote from Tulum, but that's the real beauty of this hotel and only a 15-minute taxi from Tulum...

We loved the peacefulness of Nerea Tulum, especially out at the end of the pier. We woke up every morning to watch the sunrise, sometimes swimming or kayaking too. We really enjoyed being able to use the snorkel gear when we liked, we actually took them to use in a few of the local cenotes. One of our highlights was doing yoga at the end of the pier before breakfast. What a magical way to start the day. We had so much swimming from one end of the hotel to the other through the little moat that connected the different areas. Breakfast was always delicious, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Our one pain with staying at Nerea Tulum was the price of the food and drink. My husband and I had saved up a lot of money to come to Mexico for our honeymoon and we're absolutely gutted that we couldn't afford to eat or drink at the restaurant. We would have LOVED to have ordered beers and cocktails at the bar but it just wasn't possible.
