We are older and mobility impacted. We stayed at this hotel once before. We had a week to spend in Shimoda and knew we could use the shuttle to get to the station and back each day. So we were able to visit Seven Waterfalls, Dogoshima Cave, the Floating Aquarium, and our favorite restaraunts and cafes in town. Excellent view from spacious room, very helpful and kind staff, pleasant indoor/outdoor onsen. It fit the needs of this older couple.

The breakfast is generous but became repetitive after a few days. And the breakfast room lacks charm. But not everyone would stay in one place for a week.

Everything was perfect. Especially the staff were very nice and friendly. I really enjoyed the spa.

Wish the latest shuttle bus can be a little later so that we can have time to enjoy the night of Shimoda. Only a small wish LOL. Beyond that everything was perfect.

We loved everything and everyone. We were surprised with how many languages the staff could speak. Pool was awesome! Staff was awesome! Beach is amazing and super close! There is great onsen! Right by hotel there is a convenience store and a small Hawaiian cafe which sells great lunch. There is a rental store for surfing and body boards etc.. We had breakfast included and we reserved dinner every night by 4pm. On our last night at the hotel we ordered steak from additional menu. Food was amazing and so well presented. There were washers and dryers, and machine that sells detergent for 50 yen. There is a store inside the hotel where we could buy drinks, snacks and gifts, bathing suits and shirts, beach sandals and sleepers. Prices were very reasonable and gifts were not higher price than anywhere else. One thing we wished for was to have a gym inside the hotel, or indoor pool during the rainy days, although we swam under the rainy day.

View from the room (6th floor) was fantastic. Close to main beach. Pool (especially kids pool) access was easy. Dinner and breakfast buffets had lots of variety and really great for families Onsen was very nice!

Saw several kids slip around the pool area - some parts were slippery and not well maintained! Hotel shop closed most of the day Many people left things on the chairs by the pool for hours while they did other things - so these chairs couldn't be used (annoying for people who were actually at the pool!) Many ants everywhere.....

Very helpful and attentive staff, good size room with amazing view and good proximity to a great swimming beach. There was a pool as well.

We arrived too late to book dinner and there was nothing else in walking distance after a big day of driving - thankfully there was a 7 Eleven nearby for us to get something to eat.

The hotel was very nice, and baby friendly. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Great views from our room and easy access to the beach. We stayed here to visit the Kawazuzakura Festival and we would definitely visit again in the summer months.

The lighting in the room was either too bright or too dark

- Pool was not ready yet in end of May, altough it was very warm. Due to the nice beach not such a big deal - No towels for the beach were available at the hotel

This is a lovely hotel, very traditional and it's obviously been there a while. The common areas were a bit damp smelling in places, but the room itself was very large and had been beautifully refurbished. We didn't use the onsen, but really appreciated the bath in our room with an exceptional view to the beach. The room was impeccably clean. Recommend that you include your meals in your stay here as there is nowhere else in the vicinity to eat, but also be aware that if you are not Japanese, the food is! The meals are very seafood heavy, which is to be expected as this area is famous for seafood. I found the food quality is fine, but they cater for big numbers so it was a bit flavourless compared to food we'd had elsewhere in Japan. The shuttle service is also a bonus, with the hotel shuttle travelling to and from the Shimoda station every half an hour for most of the day, great for a trip to do sightseeing for the day. All in all, this is a really nice hotel for a more traditional experience.

I'm really glad I booked this hotel🤗 It was perfect. The staff were very friendly, and the location was great. We loved relaxing in the onsen after our trip. There were plenty of parking spots, and the dinner made us feel like royalty. Thanks for the host.

Excellent ocean view room with soaking tub. comfortable beds, and lounge chair. The room was more spacious than we have come to expect in Japan. we also appreciated the frequent shuttle service into town and the outdoor hotspring. Generous breakfast. My wife enjoyed shiatsu massage through hotel.

No complaints.
