Everything, They had parking! The private onsen was amazing. I don't think we used the showers in our room the entire time. It was a 3 minute walk to the beach. The brown paper bag breakfast was nostalgic and perfect for a quick bite to eat before heading out or you could take it with you. We ate there because they had a little toaster oven to heat up the bread. The outdoor shower was great for washing off all that sand. They also had a washing machine for clothes and you can hang them outside to dry in the sun.

It was a little narrow to get into the parking area. (I'm bad at driving)

We loved staying at Shirahama Beach Side Inn! The owners were super friendly and helpful. The private onsens were so nice after a long day of walking and hiking. The free breakfast was such a nice touch and so yummy! Softest sandwich bread ever! The eating area was very cozy, I spent some time working there in the morning and it was so peaceful. I came during a rainy time but I imagine during the summer it's very popular for surfers. I am from hawaii and the hotel had lots of Hawaii art which was very sweet to see. We hope to be back someday :)

Very cute and very wholesome, I loved it. It’s right across the street from the beach and a shrine, and we could hear the waves at night. The room was clean and simple with a simple bathroom. It’s a surfer’s paradise and we also saw a family there which was very cute. A very nice sac-lunch style breakfast was provided for us in the morning. They asked ahead of time if we had any food allergies, and they made us a lovely vegetarian sandwich for breakfast. Their system for onsen use was also great! They left keys for them private onsen at the front desk as a first come first served, and limited the use to 40 mins which is more than enough time. We used the stone onsen at night, and it was magical to be able to hear the ocean waves and gaze up at the stars. It feels like it is family-run and everyone, including the cook in the morning, was very friendly which is lovely. I will return here the next time I visit Shimoda!

The walls are a bit thin, but they warn you about it ahead of time and implement quiet hours because of it, which was not a problem for us at all.

Our family of four (two adults + two kids) enjoyed a lovely 2-night stay here. Short walk to Shirahama Beach! Staff were very friendly and helpful, and offered beach mats/floats for us to borrow. Enjoyed the cute paper-bag breakfasts handed out each morning. They offer free parking on site, and private onsen too which sadly we didn't get a chance to use.

Room is quite compact but since we left our luggages in the car and only took essentials, it worked out fine.

The place is very well managed and the hosts were extremely friendly, a good location if you're thinking of staying near shimoda but closer to the beaches. There were also 2 private onsens free of charge that we loved using and the free breakfast was nice as well. There was also free washing machine service provided. Drive slowly to reach the entrance because it's a tiny road

Overall, not much bad things to say compared to our other accomodations in Japan. The rooms are small so multiple big luggages might not work here.

Very nice place near the Shirahama beach : the room was simple but with all needed and its private bathroom. The 2 outside private onsen are very nice ! We could not surf as there was no wave but you can park your car and use the outside shower until 14:00 after check-out, perfect for a morning session on the last day. Also, the breakfast was delicious (fruit juice, yoghourt, boiled egg and a very good sandwich) : you can have it on the go or eat it in the dining room !

We liked so many things about this sweet little place. Firstly, though just a few meters from the beach, but it's just enough off the main road that it was quiet. The outdoor onsen was a real treat, and we could even hear the waves from there. The staff was kind and communicative, even when we had to use translation devices, and graciously waited up for us, in spite of our late arrival time. The breakfast to-go was perfect. The room was comfortable, the price was right.... We appreciated everything there. We would definitely stay there again!

Wish we could have stayed longer! And try the surfing!

We loved our stay here - it is quiet this time of year which we liked and there were not many people at the beach, which was very clean and the water temperature perfect. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast supplied was perfect - especially the homemade bread they use for the sandwich -delicious. Also a big thank you Arkiko for driving us to Shimoda after we missed our bus one morning, first class and 5 star customer service. Thank you and we hope to visit again

No complaints! Parking is right next to property ( just need to follow the sign). They let us check in early with a short notice as it was just way too hot for any activity. They prompted helped us with hot water. The room and the place is very clean! The lounge is very aesthetic!

Not a problem for me, but my husband showered after me and he said hot water stopped in a couple of minutes. But in a hot weather like this. We didn’t quite mind.

close to bus stop and very short walk to the beach. safe walking to sunrise on beach and at night. hosts (husband and wife team) were very friendly, kind and very helpful! the continental breakfast was efficient and delicious, very healthy. 2 separate private Onsen was a good experience (keys at front desk) and they are up a steep set of stairs on property but separate from the other buildings.

there are 2 buildings and different rooms types in each building. for our family of 5, we rented 2 rooms (triple and double) but one was in each building and not able to stay closer together. the buildings are right next to each other. all stairs were steep and short, so very difficult for people with disabilities.
