Great location close to station with view of Hikone castle from the public bath, terrace and lounge. Public bath was great, and you even got free drinks (ice tea, juice, beer, coffee) in the lounge afterwards. The hotel provides yukata for hotel use which was nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and included several local specialities for Hikone/Shiga area.

The walls of my room were quite thin - I could hear people talking outside in the corridor and also some noises from other rooms/people coming and going. It was bearable though.

If you're staying in Hikone, this is the place to do it. The staff are professionals - accommodating in every way, from checking-in and out, help with luggage forwarding, to breakfast. The rooms are a bit dated, but are well kept and maintained - has a bit of charm to it. The location is convenient, next to cafes and restaurants, as well as within walking distance to Hikone Castle and the Train station. The breakfast offered had a lot of variety as well and very high quality.

My only complaint is that the Public Bath is not tattoo-friendly. I knew that when I booked the property, but I honestly believed that if I could have experienced the bathhouse, I would have rated this property a 10/10. With that said, I'd still recommend the property!

The location is outstanding. Next to the original Hikone castle. The people were extremely helpful and friendly. Nice free beer as part of stay and shuttle back to the train station. We didn’t have time to use the spa but looked nice. Always book the restaurant the day before you arrive.

There wasn’t any coffee available during the day or in The morning before breakfast. Tea in the room only . Would have liked a heads up from the hotel the day before that we had to pre book the restaurant. Hotel Corridors smell of smoke as they must provide smoking rooms. Could do with non smoking floors.

There's no better location in town. The hotel sits across the moat from Hikone castle, and commands some excellent views throughout the building. In the two weeks spent on the road in Japan, this was the most comfy bed during my travels. Breakfast was very good, and the hotel's accommodations were very comfy. The hotel leans a little more traditional than the rail stop hotels I'd been staying at, with scuffs provided for moving around the room's wood floors, and geta & yukata for taking a trip to the spa or observation floor.

As soon as I arrived, I felt like a VIP! It’s the fanciest hotel I’ve ever stayed at, and it felt amazing to be there. Breakfast was delicious, and had a good variety. I loved the apple juice!

Unless you book ahead for the dinner at the restaurant, there’s not many places to eat nearby. I had to walk back to the train station to find something to eat and a 7 eleven. Due to lack of planning on my part, I didn’t take advantage of feeling like a spa resort, and I didn’t get a massage or anything like that.

The location was awesome close to and a view of the Castle! What more could you need. Room was comfortable and met my expectations. Was able to work at the desk without any issues. WiFi was good. They even offer complimentary drinks in the lounge. I arrived about an hour early and was able to check in right away and head to my room. Great hotel! Would definitely stay here again.

Nothing found during this trip.

You can see the castle directly from the hotel. The view is stunning. The restaurant on the first floor is very good with high quality wine selection. Shuttle bus service to the railway station is efficient. You can rent bicycles from the hotel.

There was ongoing construction of a new elevator, but I was outside for most part of the day and was not disturbed.

The location is fantastic! You can see the castle from the Japanese hot spring bath. It is a short walk from the station and the entrance to the castle is literally a couple of minutes away. The staff noticed it was my birthday and presented me with a gift! How wonderful and thoughtful!

Lovely cosy hotel close to the castle entrance. Helpful staff,a free shuttle bus to the railway station and an onsen on site.

A little far to walk to the restaurant area, but manageable. As usual in Japan, rooms were a bit small, but fine for 1 person.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Provided for several requests during my stay. Great food at breakfast and dinner.

Would not allow people with tattoo’s in the onsens. Beds were a little bouncy for my taste.
