Very modern hotel just 1 min away from the bus/ train station which brings you to the most spectacular hikes in the region. The rooms are big and the shower/ toilet unit is a part of the main room, but there is a sliding door. Breakfast is simple but fills you up - bread, local cheese, yoghurt, cereals, jams/ honey. On the ground floor, there are lockers, a pool table, a fridge that can be used by the guests, washing and drying machine. Another thing is a dog shower - that is cool, even though I don't have a dog! To check in/out you have to go to the upmarket hotel 3 min away. The staff is friendly and attentive, there is a souvenir shop that offers a variety of local products. Also, there is a restaurant (would visit next time) with the terrace where you can have an evening drink and an amazing desert.

Helpful and friendly front desk staff welcomed us despite our late arrival. Breakfast across the road at their sister hotel / resort was excellent with lots of fresh fruit and good quality juices. Would have liked to have longer to use their facilities but we were only staying the night.

Was a little awkward having to check in at their other hotel up the road... but not a big deal.

when you use the bathroom during the night, the light is also in the room as the sam switch lights up the bathroom, the sink area in the hallway, and the shower - so it wakes up others in the room not a problem, just a mild inconvenience - would recommend to add a separate switch just for the toilet

Self-service is a bit unusual when living in Asia, and the absence of staff is sometimes kind of a problem, but in overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. There were plenty of great ideas to decorate the hotel, even the staircase, and of course the rooms. Ample space, clean and quiet.

After a self-service breakfast, it is quite unusual to place dishes in the dishwasher. At least one staff should be there (or close) at the Lodge, as the hotel (with the reception) is across the bridge, on the other side of the river. It also took us some time to collect our entrance keys, until instructions were given to us by a speaker

Amazing staff, amazing breakfast and amazing location. Probably the best of the lot you can ever stay in Switzerland. It’s bang off the station which is great, it makes connections very easy. Has good easy hikes nearby and for more challenging places ones you can easily be connected by public transportation

Location was amazing. Food was incredible and breakfast was one of the best breakfast buffets we have had. Staff were very friendly. Room was a great size.

Spa closed too early for us to use. Our bed creaked very loudly every time we turned. Could have clearer instructions on how to check in as lodge is away from the main hotel.

Clean, modern room with excellent facilities (laundry, games, pool) and beautiful views. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was superb.

Paying extra to use the pool. For the price I'd expect this to be included.

The staff are very friendly, helpful and polite. The train station and bus no 192 to Brulisau are just a minute's walk from the lodge. The facilities are new and function well. The provision of washing machine and dryer is great. Nice view from my room towards the mountain.

I am highly allergic to dust. The fabric at the bed board is easy to trap dust.

Modern, clean, and great facilities for your use. All staff was very friendly and welcoming. We were able to park our car in an underground garage, do some laundry, and the breakfast was nice to fuel us for our hike in the Appenzell mountains. Would recommend for families-our room had a crib for our one month old and a single bed for our three year old. It was also very nice to have a bathtub in the room for bathing the children.

The breakfast was AMAZING Charming location (near a river). Might be noisy but still beautiful The room was big and comfortable

It’s a mix between new and a bit old fashioned.. a bit expensive for the location
