The customer service was great. Their look was very professional. We loved the pool. Most often if there are others in the pool I’m uncomfortable but there was lots of room, others were respectful. The space was very clean and the pillows/bed were super comfortable.

We were told initially that we were being moved upon check in to room 222 because the initial room assigned had an adjoining room and he said it would be better. When we got to 222 it was an adjoining room too. Later when we were settling in, we tried to deadbolt the door. It would not meet up and we could not use the dead bolt. Front desk came up and checked and sure enough, it wouldn’t lock. He was prepared with keys to a new room, 236, but when he tried the keys wouldn’t work. He used the master key to let us in and would come back with the refreshed keys. Said his phone may have deprogrammed them. He didn’t return in over 30 min. I called and needed to remind him. Not a big deal. He could have just got busy.

First, we chose this property because we were just passing through for a couple of days and didn't want to spend a lot of money. For the price, we expected it to be marginal but it completely beat our expectations. It's certainly an older property but the rooms have been nicely updated, nice bedding, lots of electrical outlets, the long hallways have very bright lighting, the public areas are spare but acceptable, breakfast offers the basics but the gal working this area was super helpful. She was upbeat and friendly, keeping the pots and bowls and boxes of all food and supplies quickly refilled. The front desk was fully of staff--no waiting--and to a one, all of them wore a smile and sincerely asked how they could help. There is a little bar area, laundry, very nice pool, comfy beds, and really good Wifi. The location is a little rough, not dangerous but along the RR tracks and in an older part of town. But for our needs, it was just fine. It was a short way out of the downtown area, no more than a mile walk, if that. Free parking, change for the laundry, which was only $2 per washer/dryer load.

The only thing that was a turnoff is the exterior, first impression of the property. It's a bit scraggy and not well-kept at the front or side doors. Cigarette butts, a bit dirty, no flowers or plants out front. Kind of sad looking, and that's a pity because the inside was very clean and tidy in both our room and all the public places. A small amount of extra effort outside this property once a day would make a huge difference. However, don't let this stop you from booking here. It's an excellent value for the price.

Layout of breakfast can improve -first stop with pancake can be placed at the end as ppl stop there for a long time waiting for the pancake to be made, causing long line up for the next items like sausage and eggs. Then others butt in and take other food after the pancake station. When it was our turn all eggs were gone.. No eggs refill the whole time Not enough chocolate milk The doors exiting to the court are self locked - can't go back into the breakfast area.

Convenient location, pet friendly, helpful staff. The bed was extremely comfortable! Plenty of parking. The room was very clean, I wasn’t afraid to be barefoot. The tub was large and spotless.

Room was non smoking but smelled a bit like stale smoke. It happens everywhere though. Other than that, the only thing I didn’t like was the window shades didn’t block the light from the edges so the light sits right on your face all night.

Once we arrived in town, our personal plans changed. They staff was exceptionally helpful with a last minute booking there. They were very kind and we were happy there was availability last minute. We love staying here when we are in town, and absolutely love the continental breakfast they have to offer.

This time the beds for us were a little too soft. But perhaps next time we might just tell the front desk and see if we can change rooms if available. Other than that, the place is wonderful.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel is just outside downtown and it's easy to walk to a lot of nearby attractions. Breakfast was basic but decent. Wifi and TV worked well.

Fitness centre could be expanded a bit to include more equipment. Pool was closed during my stay however they advised that they had a partnership with another hotel nearby that let guests use their pool.

The breakfast was good with lots of options. Way better breakfast options that other hotels I’ve stayed at. I also loved that our room was pretty big, it didn’t feel too jam packed like some rooms. I liked that we had two doors, one into the hotel and also one to the parking lot.

The hot tub was really dirty. There was a build up of scum all around it. It wasn’t a super busy weekend we were there so we often had the pool area to ourselves, but it certainly could have used a proper cleaning.

check in was great, and the guy was super nice. we stayed in the huge room right outside the pool, and it was super spacious with a jacuzzi tub. very clean.

first thing in the morning (EARLY on a weekend), the staff was just starting their day in the laundry facilities across the hall, and they were loud, which made it impossible to sleep through

The staff was amazing so friendly and helpful ,if you needed something or had a question they were right on top of it I love all the new updates since days in has taken over I was there in 2014 when it was still the colonial reminded me of a hotel from a horror movie but not now it's so bright beautiful smells nice in there..

I didn't like that you could not enter your room from the courtyard I did not like that stuff could enter your room daily to clean it up make the beds and take away the towels I did take this issue up with house clean and I was not aware I had to put a tag on my door to keep them out. The hot tub had yellow foam in it and looked very dirty the whole entire floor around the pool was wet there wasn't a dry spot to walk on which made it very dangerous and slippery. And the bathrooms down by the pool we're very dirty and the toilets were clogged.. even though inside the hotel felt safe the outside did not it's not in the best location in Saint John you had to worry about if your car was going to get broken into or vandalized ..
