The staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is AMAZING!!! Manager knows how to help accommodate their gusted and make sure they are comfortable. If you are staying in this area of Batticoloa, I highly doubt there is a better place to stay. They do book some big party functions, you may want to check this first … but they made sure our first night was away from that excitable noise. We had to leave earlier than our reservation and their lady helped us rearrange the booking so we wouldn’t be overcharged, this was very much appreciated. The POOL is also beautiful!!!

There are parts of the property that they need to pay more careful attention to; some trails either mud and the pool had a part that was in disrepair … but, it was all still beautiful. There is much future potential here; great for big groups who would like to have private escape. Did not appreciate the 5:00 am loud music that blared in our ears (maybe this was a temple??? But someone needs to address this chaotic wake up, not pleasing at all.

The staff & owners couldn't have been more helpful - the site was flooded and we were helped to move to different rooms. They continued to run the restaurant (with reduced menu) for us. That is why we are giving 8/10. The resort has a pleasant bar and restaurant overlooking the lake. The "couples room" (cabins made from containers) also had a good view, both through the picture window and the outside terrace. The 2nd cabin we were in was newer so quite smart but very small. WiFi and air-conditioning were good. We couldn't use the kayaks or swimming pool because of the flooding, but would have been great.

Our 1st cabin was old and poorly maintained, it looked shabby. It was quite expensive for a very small room.

I liked everything! My stay was superb.. I would stay longer only that I had pre-reserver another place.. The room is clean, had it's private patio, desk, private bathroom. AC worked perfectly. There is a mosquito net over the bed and mosquito net covering the bathroom window. The property is very well mentioned and staff are all so awesome. Special thanks to Ms. Jayanthy in the reception team who was so responsive to my messages. Breakfast included was delicious too. The swimming pool is nice and refreshing, lots of greenery and the restaurant is lakefront, serving delicious food and the staff are so attentive too.. The location is also few kilometers from town, yet a walking distance from Kallady Beach where you can see the fishermen and watch the sunset, small shops around if you need to buy water.. And if you happen to stay Saturday or Sunday, there is the bridge market.. Overall, an amazing stay. 100% would repeat it and stay longer. Thank you :)

Here for 3 nights but loved it so much, we came back for another 3! Beautiful location by the lagoon. Excellent restaurant with friendly, professional staff and tasty food of good sized portions. Recommend the chicken biriyani! The pool was great and kept our kids entertained for hours. Overall just great customer care especially by Adhil the Resort Manager who did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. So if you need a relaxing break, highly recommend Rivera Resort!! 👌

The welcome fruit drink is good. The staff, including the security guard, is friendly and helpful. The front desk does speak English. The restaurant area is welcoming and well designed. The large garden around the main building is well maintained. The swimming pool is excellent.

The 'oriental breakfast' had to be ordered at least 45 minutes prior to the time you wanted to enjoy it. My advice to the GM was to indicate it in the menu card in order to avoid disappointment. Most of the waiters in the restaurant don't speak English. They try, some succeed, but others fail in communication and to understand what a guest really need. The mosquito net above the double bed is small to cover the entire area.

Very nice resort inside a coconut forest along the laguna with quite (and almost desert) sourrundings. Nice bungalow and rooms, fantastic pool with jacuzzi available for free. They organized a extra fee boat tour (8500 lkr for 4 people, 1 hour) at night to hear the singing fish in the laguna

We ate two times in the restaurant because other options were too far away and because it was so higlhy rated on google: both times we asked for no spicy and garlic free meal but they were not able to fulfill none of these requirements (just the second time they gave us a small discount but we barely eat something of the whole dinner)

Outstanding swimming pool! Accommodation is a repurposed container....don't let that put you off, although it's small, it's super clean and very comfortable. Chances are you ain't here to sit indoors anyway. There is plenty of outdoor seating options around to relax in, and enjoy the scenery. The gardens are beautiful. The ambience is perfect.

A bit tricky to locate reception, but that's probably down to my ineptitude and short sightedness.

Enjoyed a daily swim, the open Dining Room overlooking the lagoon was a most pleasant place to eat meals, my room rustic and most comfortable amongst the lush tree setting...

The Booking.com posting for the property was found to be totally accurate ~ the accommodation comfortable; the Staff Welcoming and Very Proficient in their duties and attending to the Visitor

The hotel looked nice and the newly renovated restaurant was really charming. The food at the restaurant was great, too. The pool was clean and warm.

The beddings were really old. The bathroom and the room need to be renovated as they look quite old. The service was a bit slow, and may be it was due to the large number of guests.

A quirky hotel that we really enjoyed staying at, the swimming pool is in a fantastic location for sunset swims over the lagoon. The staff gave us a WiFi booster to put in the room as we were a little far away from the main router. The restaurant had a great system where you could order your food for a specific time which worked really well, good selection of beer and the room was large and clean. It feels more than a 2 star hotel.
