Paradise. The location is magnificent. It’s true that it’s pricey and a few things need attention, but management is fantastic and aware. Staff are really lovely. The beach is phenomenal and rooms very comfortable. In comparison to what you get for what you pay in Pasikuda it’s worth it. Loved how exclusive it felt. We didn’t want to leave.

My one gripe and is how they charge for food and drinks. Prices are quoted in US$, converted to rupees when you sign, then converted back to US$ when you pay. Plus an extra 30% added on in taxes and service. Nowhere else in Sri Lanka we were did this, and it’s hard to see it as anything other than exploitative. 10% service is pretty standard, but the bill ends up being a third more and I think this should be made clear.

Amazing invaluable grounds, friendly and adorable staff, very good quality food, spacious and luxurious beach huts.

Owners could help the local community and the tourists by investing in the road leading up to the property which is long and extremely bumpy. Restaurant organisation needs some fine tuning (experienced staff?) but I’m sure it will get better over the season.

It was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. This place is the one when you only thought about smth, and it becomes a reality soon. Very nice, clean, romantic place, excellent-organized, friendly and helpful staff (expecially Mr.Namal - he was like a friend who always could give an advice and arrange for anything we needed), wonderful cuisine (the best in Sri Lanka: we tried a lot, but here it was perfect - haute cuisine I would say, including the high level service), peaceful and relaxing place. The route from the aiport is really long, but if you take a hotel transfer - it is convenient and you can make a stop for some snack. We met an elephant on our way to the hotel (right on the highway) - it was a true delight for the kids.

Great welcome from the staff and manager. Everything was spacious, quiet and luxurious. Room was very comfortable and air con was ok. Garden shower was a nice touch and powerful. Breakfasts included which was probably the best we have ever had. Hugh choice of sweet and savoury items. Fruit platter, pastries and choice of fresh fruit juices and tea/coffee always brought to your table along with choice of a sweet or savoury dish which catered to every taste. Complimentary fresh fruit juice in the morning and ice cream or cold drink brought to your sun bed every day which was a nice touch. Beautiful pool overlooking the immaculate and quiet beach. Lunch and dinner was good value considering the choice, quality and size of portions. Massages were amazing and excellent value. Our room butler was very professional and friendly and we could contact him any time via the supplied mobile phone which was also used to hotspot rather than Wi-Fi in the hotel and worked very well. Staff could not have done more for us.

Loved our stay at Karpaha Sands for our honeymoon, the staff made us feel so special every day. Special thanks to Namal, Pathu, Ajit the barman and of course the GM Umberto. Some of the best seafood I've had in my life, stunning pool and private beach, and lots of activities available. The nature shower was so great! The hotel is doing a great job of creating development opportunities for the local villagers.

For the price I think the rooms could be made more comfortable - bedding is changed twice daily but didn't feel 5* quality, and the air con unit could be stronger (tent gets warm in the daytime)

This place is class! A huge stretch of white sandy beach with essentially just the hotel on it! We had a beachfront villa which we loved. The outdoor shower is so cool and it was amazing to open the curtains each morning and walk straight onto the beach! You are assigned a personal butler for the duration of the stay and you can contact them via WhatsApp at any time and for any request. A special shoutout to Malshan here! He was so professional and very responsive to all our requests. The pool is amazing - it is huge and there are shelves on the sides you can sit and lounge in to cool down! There are books, balls, volleyball and Pétanque around here to enjoy during the day! 😊 We chose to do the destination dining and the outdoor cinema add ons during our stay and just wow. All the food was sensational throughout our stay! I recommend French toast for breakfast and butter chicken for dinner!!! There are local fishermen who work on the beach, pulling in their nets and dealing with their catch, this was a very unique thing to experience! So much more I could mention!

As cool as the fishermen on the beach were, it does spoil the sense of paradise somewhat as they use a number of tractors which are very noisy and the smell of the fumes can get quite strong. And just to mention the prices of food and drink. The prices listed are before tax (~20%) and service charge (~10%) so you need to add 30% on to anything you see! Was slightly misleading. But these were only small things and my stay was still absolutely 10/10!

A real oasis on our recent Sri lankan 3 week visit. We made some bad accommodation choices on this trip – believing the trip or google reviews and ending up in some disappointing places. Not this hotel though – we loved everything about it. The ‘tent’ rooms were beautifully finished and furnished, comfortable bed, great showers and services/wifi etc. The food in the restaurant was excellent and very well-priced for the quality. A lovely beach, illuminated palm trees, great poolside bar and lounge…. Very good value for money also. The manager, Umberto, went above and beyond and seems to be on top of all the details of customer service and the logistics of a higher-end place like this. We would highly recommend a few days at this place to unwind and to laze, eat and drink fabulously, away for a few days from the general chaos of other parts of Sri Lanka.

One of the best hotels we have stayed at! The food was excellent, the service was perfect. Small touches like: plentiful free filtered water at meals, a complimentary snack by the pool in the afternoons, a dedicated staff member on call to help with any problems etc. These are things not seen often in SL, and added up to a great experience. Would wholeheartedly recommend and hopefully will stay again soon. Dilep, our assistant, needs a special mention for going above and beyond to help us locate a missing sandal, even returning it to us in Kandy several days later!

There were quite a lot of roaming dogs. They didn’t particularly bother us but some guests did not appreciate for sure.

This accommodation blew everything out of the Sri Lanka waters. Truly amazing hospitality during our stay. Passionate Manager Umberto didn’t just host us—he really brought his soul into the experience, and we felt it every step of the way. It’s the little touches that made it so special: the warm and attentive staff (i.e. Nif and Pathum),the delicious bites with our apero, the magical evening lighting, the beautiful art around the property, the fresh melon on the beach, the water service by the pool and beach…best of Italian 🇮🇹 cuisine (cooked by Umberto himself) and so much more. Every detail was thought through with care, and it showed. Truly unforgettable, and we’re already dreaming of coming back.

There is really nothing you can complain about.

Small corner of paradise, secluded, peaceful and relaxing. Stunning untouched beach graced only with the presence of the local fisherman. Food was excellent, all made fresh, with so many flavors. The banana lassi with fresh buffalo curd is to die for. The tents were ample with a cozy living area. It was very private, calm and secured. Last but definitively not least, the staff was absolutely incredible! Umberto, the general manager was the perfect host and took exceptional good care of us. Our butler, Nifras, went above and beyond making our stay truly unique. Special mention also to Sarath and Sujan with all the staff being extremely attentive and kind.
