The Acacia provided the biggest surprise of our recent Winter road trip. Although we'd never stayed in Coonabarabran before, we were aware from previous travels through that local accommodation options would be limited to highway-side motels dating back to the 60s / 70s / 80s. My expectations were accordingly adjusted but the Acacia blew them out of the water! Our room was one of the largest I've ever stayed in with space for everything including a lounge, separate luggage area, bath and a fantastic shower which was warmly welcome after a half-day's drive. The motel was really well presented and perfectly located next to a great Chinese restaurant, a Shell servo and only a block from the downtown area. Would absolutely stay here again if in the area - top marks to the management on maintaining a great venue.

Very difficult to raise anything but the most minor detail. At a pinch, there was a bit of highway noise to contend with and the bathroom fan struggled a bit with the condensation after a hot shower but really, these are trivialities.

Room size was exceptionally large and comfortable. The heating was on when we arrived after business hours, very thoughtful. The bathroom facilities outstanding, full size bath, shower and provided shampoo, conditioner and body wash in travel size tubes, not a dispenser attached to the wall. The fridge contained fresh milk rather than long life and two 600ml bottles of water. Both very thoughtful and appreciated additions. Highly recommend the Acacia Motor Lodge.

Nothing not to like

The unit was super spacious and bathroom newly renovated with huge walk in shower. Bed was comfy. Only reason for lower rating was the fact the fridge obviously had stopped working with no one obviously reporting it prior to our doing so.😞. Fortunately we had a car fridge so we managed with that but it would be a huge problem for those relying on a fridge. The only window you could leave open for fresh air was the bathroom as the front lounge windows appeared not to be able to open so room was a little stuffy but left air conditioner on it helped.

We stayed here for 3 nights and visited Warrambungles NP and the observatories, all within easy reach. The hotelroom was comfortably big, as was the bathroom.The bed was very comfortabel and the fridge and microwave were very convenient. There is a nice pool, a nice restaurant and there are washing facilities ( free of charge) on the premisses. The town itself is within walking distance. We would certainly recommend the hotel!

Some chairs to sit outsite would have been great. But other than that: nothing.

Pros: microwave and toaster in the room (not many places have this), bottled water and milk in the rooms, smart TV with access to streaming channels, large bathrooms, and comfortable beds. Lovely restaurant with a nice menu. Room service options as well for only $5 extra (considering the large size of property this is decent). Friendly and accommodating staff including the lovely cleaning/service staff. Has a large fenced clean pool as well. Free access to laundry washer and dryer for guests.

Only downside is the noise from trucks during the night but being set back a little from the road helps a bit. Light sleepers may need ear plugs etc. This is the same as most in town hotels though due to the thoroughfare of trucks. I looked into most the options and I think this was the best value for money considering the great accommodation.

This was a stand-out stay on our road trip and I wish I had had several nights here. Disabled accessible room as booked and it was HUGE! Very clean and well appointed with lounge, desk, and comfortable bed. Large bathroom with bath and separate shower. The staff were very friendly and accommodating at all times. Continental breakfast tray delivered to our room the night before so we could breakfast in-room at any time upon waking. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and I was amazed. They had the best food of our entire trip. A wonderful menu with items you might not normally expect to see in a country motel. The pork loin was incredible . . . tasty, juicy and tender. Wished I could stay a week and try all the menu items. Congrats to their outstanding chef. I would definitely stay here again.

Nothing. Everything exceeded my expectations.

The owner/staff were really accommodating and friendly. After a long scenic drive, it was such a nice way to start a weekend getaway. Would recommend for location and hospitality. They have large spacious rooms and are really well located. If you are wanting to explore (get a couple of good walks in+ some interesting attractions), or just have some nice regional R&R planned, this is a good option.

Different room this time but still ground level as requested. Again, the room size was huge with a large bathroom, entrance shoe cupboard and a wardrobe. A handy long bench with desk. Two entrances to the room, one being a back sliding door leading to a balcony with an outdoor setting overlooking the pool. It had a bathtub although we didn't use it. Parking was a breeze right at the front door. A great place to stay for a night or a week as it is really that roomy. There is apparently even a laundry available that is free for guests to use. The guy at the desk was very friendly. The place was booked out which says something :) I would definitely stay again.

This was a different room and the walls near the single bed and especially the one near the bin area are in need of a clean, there were a few strange red marks on the bathtub and the toilet roll kept coming off the holder. Nothing major wrong though just different to the cleanliness of the previous room. While not the fault of the motor lodge, the whole town experienced a blackout on our arrival this time, so all shops shut, including the service station. Woolworths stayed open for a while for non-refrigerated goods as they had back-up power for the registers. I was not made aware of any gas bbq to heat something for dinner or boil some water for a cup of coffee. Little battery run night lights could be offered to guests in such a situation next time maybe?

Room size was huge. Large bathroom. There were two entrances to the room as there was a back sliding door. It had a bathtub although we both only had time for a shower during our stay. There was a pool available just out the back door and an outdoor setting, this would be great with warmer weather. Parking was an ease right at the room's front door. Comfortable beds. You can order both dinner and breakfast if you choose to. A great place to stay while visiting the Sliding Springs Observatory as well as the fossil and mineral museum (Crystal Kingdom). A star gazing show is also available in town on clear nights.

Couch was aged, saggy and uncomfortable. Pipes squealed when in use (and when other rooms used their showers too).

Nice size room. Large bathroom. Seperate toilet. Seperate kids bedroom with tv. Large main room with tv, queen bed, table and couch. Plenty of storage. Walking distance to shops. Set back off road.

Noisey patrons upstairs and early morning as tradies leave etc. Curtains in kids rooms full of cobwebs. Kitchen space a bit tight but was fine for an overnighter and just making toast.
