This is a fab hotel in a stunning area just outside Boquete. We stayed two nights in the family room and a further two nights in side-by-side triple rooms. The former was just perfect for a family of 4 and the kids loved their bed space up a narrow spiral staircase. It was so special to watch the many hummingbirds and other beautiful birds that are regular visitors to the stunning garden setting of the inn. The pool and jacuzzi are lovely after days our adventuring. We also loved the breakfast here. It’s low key, but served with a smile from the lovely staff team and includes lots of delicious fresh fruit, cooked items, smoked salmon and bagels and more! You can help also yourself to some fizz or a Bloody Mary too! And all with that stunning view! Just perfect! We would also like to add that the staff team were super friendly and helpful. It’s easy to get into Boquete using local taxis (although when we were staying, the bridge on the fast route into town was being repaired so the journey took a bit longer), and we also found Palo Alto was en route to many of the attractions, so tour companies were happy to pick us up there rather than in town. We highly recommend this place!

Where do I even start. We had read all the promising reviews before we came here. They have nice (free) parking spaces in front of the hotel. The gate opens up to the most beautiful garden with so much plants, flowers and (humming)birds. All the staff are super friendly and always smiling. The spacious room was spot clean and smelled so nice every time we entered the room. Every morning there was a small, but delicious and very fresh breakfast buffet. After our hikes we would relax in the hot tub, which overlooks the river. We would definitely recommend this hotel and are a little sad to leave this place…

It's a beautiful hotel with a great mountain view. The staff is awesome, especially Marcello :) he has lots of ideas what to do (try the coffee tour!) and he makes the best cocktails The breakfast was delicious and a little bit different every day. There are lots of flowers between the buildings and sometimes you see colibris flying around

the walls are a lite bit thin, thus at night we could hear the neighbours upstairs walking and the ones next door in the bathroom the hotel itself has no restaurant and it takes about half an hour to walk downtown - The Rock is one of the closest restaurants about 20min away by foot and really nice

The BREAKFAST IS TRULY DELICIOUS!!! Even one of the morning, we did the volcano sunrise tour and got back around 10:30am (post breakfast hours) but the staff was SO KIND and they knew we would be late so they had breakfast waiting for us still. The place was overall so cute - highly recommend upgrading to mountain view, the views were WOW.

Unfortunately, (and out of the hotel's control), we did have an incident with the people next to us where a fight broke out in the middle of the night but the staff was accomodating and moved us to a different room in the morning. I would also say, while the views are great, just keep in mind that you are not walking distance to anything so you would have to taxi (there are no ubers) to and from the hotel into the downtown area for other meals outside of breakfast.

Beautiful garden with hummingbirds and flowers next to a small river and some decent mountain views. The jacuzzi is the heart of the Hotel. The swimming pool is not heated. Decent rooms with big tv with apps (i.e youtube) and good beds. The breakfast in the morning facing the river is lovely and varied. I used the gym that is really convenient if you want to work out during your stay, plus with views. They helped me organise transport to Bocas del Toro, 8 am just after breakfast, for 30 usd, cheaper than in the internet.

Definitely location is not handy since a taxi is needed any time 4 to 5 usd and it is a bit uphill. They say you can walk 30 minutes. However, there were some aggresive dogs on the street not far from the main bridge that believe me, you do not want to face them. This is an issue I have seen in other parts with dogs left outside by local owners unattended. Otherwise I could have walk on the way down. If you have your own transport, that would not be an issue (although I saw the dogs running after.passing by taxis). My room was facin the interior garden, so, I had to close all curtains to have some privacy.

The setting is wonderful-10 minutes drive from town in the hills, surrounded by coffee plantations and a view of the volcano. The gardens are a delight and attract humming birds, butterflies and other birds. Lovely breakfast-fresh fruit, eggs to order. We got taxis to town as we didn't have a car, but found tours were happy to pick us up from the hotel. The staff really went the extra mile in setting us up with a local restaurant when we arrived late, offering a lift if they were going into town and when my husband was ill, sorting us out with a take away meal to be delivered. Very highly recommended!

We liked everything

The hotel boasts a beautiful garden and stunning views. The room is spacious, lovely, and clean. There is a pool and a jacuzzi for relaxation. Breakfast is delicious, and the staff are friendly and incredibly helpful. The location is convenient – you can reach the city center by taxi for just €4-5 or walk there in about 40-45 minutes. The area feels safe. Additionally, the hotel collaborates with several restaurants, offering free shuttle transfers for guests.

One evening, there was a power outage in the village for about four hours. The staff provided no information or support, and we had to ask for a candle ourselves. I understand that it wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but as a guest, that’s not my concern – the comfort and needs of the guests should still be a priority.

The Inn at Palo Alto was an amazing stay for my family. The grounds are maintained with attention to detail. The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. There was an evening we were in the city trying to hail a taxi after dinner. We could not find one that was available. So, we asked a nearby restaurant for help. It just happened that the owner of our Inn was sitting at the table in front. He quickly offered to drive us back to the Inn,

Beautiful property, full of flowers and birds, wonderful breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Pool and hot tub, small fitness center. Very worth the price!

Nearly perfect, but one has to realize that having a car is helpful in order to get to the various hiking trails - hotel is outside of Boquete itself. Taxis to go downtown (about 3 km) should be ordered ahead of time since they might not come at the last moment. But there is a collective shuttle bus that runs when full, and walking downtown from the hotel is relatively easy as it is downhill.

I’m not exaggerating when I say I probably had one of the most pleasant stays that I had in my life at this place. The hotel is beautiful but what made it exceptional was the staff, Marcelo was super attentive and helped us in everything we needed (which was a lot but he remained happy to help us) and the owner of the hotel was also really thoughtful and took us to the restaurants that were outside the hotel. I cannot recommend enough this hotel for anyone thinking of staying in boquete!
