Romantic, quiet location. The strangeness of a small empty chateau with almost only me in it. Kettle with coffee and tea provided. Only 7 minutes drive to Kalkar, a very beautiful old town in the Dutch style, and about 15 minutes drive to Burg Anholt with spectacular wildflower gardens. Excellent breakfast in atmospheric medieval semi-cellar. Very friendly ladies at reception and breakfast. Good value.

Funny smell in the room at first. Disappeared after window was left open. This castle is a restored ruin, so don't expect every last detail to be authentic and old.

If I have to mention something, but both are minor: - there are many TV stations on the cable. But no Dutch stations - window could not fully open

Beautifully renovated castle in a small village. Perfect place to stop on a bike tour. We didn’t have a room in the castle but our accommodation was in the renovated outbuildings where we could leave our bikes. Our building was convenient and comfortable. We enjoyed a fabulous breakfast in the castle in the morning…

The European style beds were a little hard for us soft Aussies…

Great breakfast restaurant and rooms are very very spacious. Staffs are really nice and freindly. Huge Parking place included. We have been here a year ago and like very much. Second time, we were as happy as first time.

There is nothing to complain. The location is away from town. But taxi reservation is no problem. And they are very competent. We enjoyed out stay overall.

TV worked but picture quality was bad had internet but did not work in my room. Hotel should invest in some internet repeaters or more powerful wifi box

My room was in an annex away from the main castle building

The room is great and very spacious. Bath is a plus. All the artwork and pristine condition of the hotel in public spaces are great.

The beds were a little too soft for my taste. Also we were a couple and the 2 separate single beds were a little awkward. The Wi-Fi was good, except I couldn’t get the Wi-Fi to connect to my Android device. Only the iOS devices connected. The area is difficult to find good dinner, but we made it work and visited some regional areas.

- Cleanliness is beyond praise. - Very atmospheric. - Nice park. - Hot water is really hot from the first seconds. - Batteries heat the room perfectly. - Very large rooms, even the cheapest ones. - Really pet friendly.

- We waited for scrambled eggs for breakfast almost 30 minutes. Decided not to wait longer and just left. The buffet was almost empty, so for 12 euros p.p. we only got some sausage. - Very cold floors, you should bring your own indoor shoes. - Doors to rooms have a gap on thee bottom, so you can hear everything from the hallway.

Room was luxurious. Communal areas were lovely and the mini bars were very inexpensive compared with other hotels. Hotel in lovely grounds.
