The Stonehouse Court Hotel were our accommodations for one night while walking the Cotswold Way. This hotel was about a half a mile off of the walking route. We were a group of three and had two different rooms, close enough to each other. We had a garden room - with very limited views, as well as a double room. The property itself is so enjoyable - whether the bar/lounge or the outdoor seating areas, I would have skipped the extra cost for the garden view room. The rooms were clean, a little dated - the beds were soft for us (but personal preference), but the bathrooms were a comfortable size. We spent most of our time outdoors and in the lounge. We did have dinner reservations at the hotel and were able to enjoy our dinner outside. The lounge played music and we got to know a few of the other people staying at the hotel, the history of the hotel, we really had a great evening. The breakfast was very good - one of the best we had on our trip. The staff was kind and very friendly - helping answer any questions we had regarding taxis, luggage needs (the staff helped carry our luggage down), etc. I would overall recommend this hotel.

Our group had no complaints, and would stay here again.

The hotel was beautiful, the staff attentive and very friendly, the walk up the canal path to the Kitch was lovely the next day also. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the linen and towels were super quality and in general we were nice and cosy in all parts of the hotel on a dreadful night weather wise. We would definitely stay in the hotel again but we would go elsewhere to eat.

The evening meal. I'm afraid it rather spoiled the event we were celebrating. We had rump steak which was tough. I couldn't finish mine although my partner soldiered on through his. The chef's comment was apparently that it was cooked exactly how we asked for it! Not especially the reply I would have expected. I didn't complain about the cooking ....the meat was tough. The waitress suggested maybe the cut was too thick? I regularly eat rump steak at lots of venues thank you...she did offer a complimentary pudding. However, I personally wanted to go out for a nice, romantic dinner with my partner and as we are not pudding people it didn't offer any kind of compensation for us.

First evening's dinner was superb. The next two evening meals were disappointing in comparison.

There is a step down into the bathroom and, whilst there is a sign on the door to warn of this, the door was left open by the houskeeping staff so this sign was not visible. My wife missed the step and fell, twisting her ankle and banging her knee. We reported this to reception and the staff could not have been more concerned or helpful. We suggested putting a visible stripe on the top of the step so that future such accidents could be avoided.

The staff are absolutely amazing at this hotel, so polite and friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble

We were given a complimentary upgrade to a manor room which was very nice but a couple of small issues that we did raise the following morning, the fan in the bathroom was on all night and wouldn't switch off I did try calling the night reception but had no answer, also the smart tv had no wifi connection so couldn't watch Netflix or prime after a long day just wanted to relax, other than that it was excellent and we will definitely return,

I loved the decor, it was clear the hotel embraced the vintage feel of the building and modernized aspects for the comfort of guests. I loved the environmentally-friendly schemes - such as the separated waste bin in the room, the motion detecting lights, the EV charger, and the opt-out of housekeeping incentives.

The size of my room was smaller than expected, especially the bathroom. It was okay for a solo traveler, but if I had been joined by my husband we would have been on top of each other. The water pressure of the shower was excellent, but the water was not very warm. The wifi was very poor - it was difficult to connect to and the speeds were low.

From the moment of arrival our break was fabulous. Our room was brand new , The Hay barn and exceeded all of our expectations. The bed , amazing , the shower , amazing , decor ultra modern and we even had our own little patio . The breakfast was lovely , pastries , cereal , fruit yoghurt and a full English if you required … which we did. The staff couldnt do enough for you , even the General manager spoke to us about our stay , which we thought was a very personal touch . We will definitely recommend and will definitely be returning , with friends in the summer.

The staff were fantastic, extremely friendly and were happy to help with anything you needed. Just went for a small break away from the children to explore the local area. The food was great and the room clean with everything you need, but the staff really do make this hotel. We had a lovely stay, thank you. :) (I must also note it was great to actually have a key to our room, rather than those cards that always go wrong) :)

We had a lovely stay and it was perfect for what we needed. I am trying to think of a negative, but I am struggling. The only thing I can think of that we missed was having access to BBC Iplayer, etc. It didn't ruin our stay, but would have been nice to be able to put a film on before bed.

Check in was straight forward. We had a comfortable, quiet and well heated room. Bathroom was also of a high standard. Dinner in the evening was excellent although the dining room was poorly lit to the extent that it was difficult to read the menu and see what the food looked like. Breakfast was standard fare and not particularly exciting but some freshly cooked items were available.

There was inadequate lighting in the dining room and the buffet breakfast was very ordinary, Plates were not warmed. The staff were always polite and helpful but were not always readily available because their duties were spread over several rooms.

On second day it was disappointing to realise, by overhearing others asking, that freshly fried eggs were available at breakfast. On the second night the people in the room above us were talking loudly and moving around way after midnight and again at 2.30am Boots being dropped on the floor etc made it very frustrating and disturbed our sleep more than once. The term "Herd of elephants moving around" would not be too much of an exaggeration. Surely if these people had arrived late or stayed up to the small hours in the bar, the staff could have implored them to have consideration for other guests.

I was traveling alone from my home in Devon, I have family and friends in the area and invited 2 to dinner. The food was good but we found the bar staff a bit slow (Spent too much time talking to other guests. Whilst this is of course important they should look after new customers as well. as the dinner was good, I decided to reserve Sunday lunch with another friend. We both chose the Sunday lunch. Lot's of meat and on top a large Yorkshire pudding. This was hiding what was on the plate. It was only my friend had finished and I still had a long way to go that I realised that she had no roast potatoes and I had 4. She also had 1 carrot and I had none. We reported this to the waitress who was very humble and pleasant and said she would report it to the chef. She said we should have had 2 potatoes each.
